Our experience on Bayaca Island with Ines and Rex was incredible from beginning to end! What a memory! The missions were very diverse and taught us new skills! We were able to do several fun dives with them. The seabed is magnificent and truly pristine! And I have to tell you about the animals. If you love dogs, you'll be in paradise. They are adorable! The tent is very basic, but we slept so well to the sound of the waves. For cooking, you'll have plenty of cooking utensils at your disposal, and a vegetable boat comes by once a week. During your free time, you can explore the island, go snorkeling, and cuddle the dogs. Thank you, Ines and Rex, for this wonderful experience! I recommend it 100%!

Céleste stayed about a month with us and there is no way this experience could be wrapped up in a paragraph. Extremely skilled, hard-working and eager to help, she assisted with a million tasks. From painting rails, to fixing bicycles, to plastering, to building fences, cleaning or gardening, she was exceptional. Always curious, fast learner and independent - there was nothing more we could ask. And still we got it. Amazing conversations, music, suggestions on new hiking trails, shared practices, mingling with other guests, playing with children. This was an experience so rich that is difficult to be captured. If you ever have the chance to meet Céleste do not hesitate! Thank you so much. Wish you all the best for the future!

I have just spent three fantastic weeks at SoleLuna working with Maria on the farm. It was a truly delightful and fascinating experience, I feel extremely fortunate to have had the opportunity. Maria is a beautiful, energetic person - an inspiring, force of Nature! It was a privilege to spend time at SoleLuna learning about how the farm is managed and experiencing the beauty of the landscape and the delicious organic produce. The Winter weather in Sardinia had been particularly harsh; an unusual amount of rain and wind, resulting in many trees down and causing some stress for farmers whose crops have been disadvantaged. It was very rewarding to help Maria to care for all the fruit trees, herbs, flower garden and vegetables as we waited for the sun to arrive! Maria has a beautiful home, wonderfully affectionate pets and of course, the chickens, goats and Fiona the pig! We enjoyed the open wood fire when it was cold in the evenings and I had very comfortable accommodation, thank you Maria:) My work was mostly weeding and mulching; we dug an irrigation ditch, gathered manure/straw/logs, sowed seed and I cleared sheds/storage areas. Maria was very committed to checking that I was happy in my work and offered variety and flexibility, it was an extremely supportive work environment. The generous meals prepared by Maria were delicious, nourishing and educational! I was also so delighted to be included in all aspects of Maria's community and life during my stay which made the cultural exchange so rich for me. We laughed as we worked out the language differences (I loved beginning my journey with the Italian language!), we travelled to Cagliari to hear music with friends and so we could visit the Castello district, we gathered Sambuco flowers (Elder) for syrup and I watched Myrto being made. I had a delightful visit to Villagio Carovana where Maria's friends run a unique Community project and we travelled to another farm North of Castiadas, to local beaches and towns. The key thing to note here is that Maria is committed to visitors having a positive experience and getting to see the local area with all it has to offer. Maria is passionate about her farm, her produce and about the quality of the food she offers her guests when she hosts her home restaurant. I was also lucky to meet 2 other Workaway volunteers while I was at SoleLuna which added to my experience, I worked hard and had fun! The mountainous scenery, the towns/cities and the gorgeous coast/ocean are all there to be enjoyed, I also found the Sardinians extremely friendly. I am extremely grateful for this wonderful time in my life, thank you so much Maria.

Matthias, Martina and their two lovely kids stayed with us for a week. It was very nice having a family around with all the young energy that brings. Matthias & Martina are very skilled and assisted with a lot of electrical issues that had been persisting for a while. We had beautiful conversations, lots of ideas shared and lots of laughs. Very respectful and very helpful people - I would highly recommend them! All the best with your trip and see you again soon!

Jen is a very mature young woman. Always cheerful, happy, and with a smile on her face. Full of energy, everything she did was with dedication, care, and love. She adapted very easily to us and other workers, as well as to the guests. She is responsible, kind, polite, and very clean. She has a car, is independent, and had her own plans to go surfing and spend time with friends. It worked out super well!! It would be a pleasure to have her again. All the best!!!

I cannot say enough great things about the experience with David and Joana, and their two lovely cats, Simi and Wicca! David and Joana are the definition of good people. They care a lot about their Workawayer's experience and the well-being of their cats. They were patient with explaining how to care for the cats, and left a detailed document explaining the care of Simi and Wicca and other important things around the apartment. They consistently checked in to make sure the cats and I were fine, and provided me with a lot of advice for things to do in the area. They even lent me a bike and a bus card to get to and from A Coruña. Simi and Wicca are so cute! They have totally different personalities and it makes for a fun dynamic in the apartment. I developed a special bond with Wickiña and the abuelo guapo Simi, and enjoyed cuddling and spending time with them (they kept me great company the few days I was sick!). David, Joana, and I had a lovely time taking turns cooking different dishes, and had some great conversations. They were kind enough to take me on hikes to see some beautiful cliffs and mountains in the area, and a monastery as well! I felt so welcomed and relaxed at their place, and I am so grateful. Thanks David and Joana and see you soon! :)

Wendell and Jenifa stayed with us for about one month, and it was their first Workaway experience. They are very kind, friendly and respectful people, and it was a pleasure to host them in our home. We shared many nice moments together, and they showed appreciation for the time and experience here. They completed the tasks they were given in a reliable and careful way, especially when they had clear guidance and structure. As it was their first experience, they needed some time to get used to the rhythm and expectations, but they were willing to learn and improved during their stay. I believe that with more experience, they will continue to grow and gain confidence in taking initiative. Overall, it was a positive experience, and I wish them all the best for their future travels and Workaway stays. P.S. It was especially nice to share daily life with you – the small moments, the conversations and the time together. Thank you for that. All the best to both of you!

We enjoyed hosting Ellie and learning more about life in Israel and her future plans. She got along well with others, communicated well and has good self awareness too. During her stay she helped with a variety of tasks around the farm and it was good to see her confidence grow especially with driving the golf cart - we appreciate all your help during your stay. Safe travels!

I had a great time at this Workaway. I was with Jeff for three weeks. Darcie was away for most of the time, but I did meet her at the end. Jeff was very upfront about the work. Some of the tasks were rather dirty and difficult, but Jeff will never ask a workaway to do something he wouldn't do himself. Your people looking to develop renovation skills can learn a lot from Jeff. Old people looking to enjoy a laugh and beer will also benefit from this workaway. I enjoyed Vic-en-Bigorre. Jeff and Darcie live in the center of town. It's a very short walk to an InterMarche and a proper French bakery. I will be returning to stay with Jeff and Darcie for another week before I leave France. Please feel free to contact me if you have specific questions.

I planned to stay with Margaret for only around one week, but fell in love with her organization, so I returned for an additional two weeks. Margaret has a way of making you feel very well cared for and like you are a part of her family. You will be staying with her in her Nairobi apartment or in her Machakos home. We shared our meals together and shared cleaning the home. I found that having a proactive attitude was helpful to fill my time in the most meaningful way. Margaret, and her assistant, Susan were there to help guide my stay. Before arriving, I recommend making a plan with Margaret for what work you are most interest in doing (farm work, restaurant, children, etc.), so you can plan to stay in Nairobi or in Machakos. While volunteering, there was intense flooding affecting some nearby slums. I organized a small fundraiser among friends and was able to give aid bags to families from a school for disabilities. This was very special and impacted my time very positively! Margaret is very open to creative ideas for uplifting the communities she supports.

Jessi was a wonderful person to have with us. We really enjoyed her company and the way she cared for our daughter, Munay. Her experience working in kindergartens was very noticeable; she shared experiences with us that I didn’t know before, always with so much love and dedication. One day she even surprised us by turning a room into a little playroom for Munay, which showed how creative and thoughtful she is. She quickly understood the house rules and was always willing to help with cleaning, organizing, and laundry. Jessi definitely has a special place in our hearts. Thank you for everything, and we hope to see you again!

It was a real pleasure to have Lottie here with us! Very friendly, fun - and hard working! She cleaned out our garden plots, washed the windows, baked delicious buns, cleaned bathroom wall tiles, cleaned out the car and did a major job in clearing out saplings from behind the house. Wow, I am so thankful.🙏🏽🙏🏽 It was also cool that she is a budding Youtuber where she posted funny and interesting clips about her experiences here at home and being in Sweden in general. Check her out! "Lottie Hunter" I wish her the very very best and we will be following her continuing world adventures on YouTube.❤️

For my very first workaway experience, I stayed with David and Freya in their lovely farm in Northern Germany. I couldn't have imagined a better place to start volunteering and to learn more about permaculture. Their clear communication and warm welcome made everything go smoothly. I loved our shared meals, deep conversations and tasks in the garden to prepare everything for summer. I watered little seedlings and watched them grow to eventually repot them. Outside I moved treetunks, learned to chop wood, planted onions and garlic and every morgning fed the chickens, which I really loved to learn. Everything new to me was very well explained. Furthermore, I really appreciate the work effort they put in their projects and the openness to share everything they know. The accommodation was perfect for the colder spring days and the shared rooms provided everything you needed. It really started to feel like a comfortable home where I could definitely stay longer. Even when my departure didn't go as planned, I was welcome to stay a night longer. I want to thank you guys once again for welcoming me in your wonderful home and share a piece of your life with me. I would definitely recommend anyone to experience this luxurious farm life in the beautiful country side.

Anke and Olaf welcomed me warmly after I struggled to find a place when my previous Workaway was cancelled. They are incredibly kind and generous people, and their energy is truly uplifting. Although I only stayed for one week, it was an amazing experience. The cultural exchange was wonderful, and I had the opportunity to meet their family and friends—such beautiful people. I also connected with another Workawayer, West, who had been there before me, which made the experience even more special. In just one week, I found everything I had been looking for in a Workaway. So a huge thank you for everything you've done for me! I wish you all the best and even more!

I spent three weeks on the farm and honestly would have loved to stay even longer. The other volunteers and I were responsible for preparing food for the pigs and feeding them at 7 am and 3 pm. Between feeding times we had some free time which I mostly spent with the lovely animals. They are all so friendly and used to being around people which makes it very easy to build a connection with them. There are three permanent workers on the farm and they are such wonderful people. Especially Ever — he is such a great guy and we had so many great conversations. You can also go into town twice a day and Nicky or Rohan are very kind about picking you up again. The only negative aspect is the fleas on the farm. There were far more than I expected and it was a bit annoying at times. But with some protection and a little understanding, it doesn’t take away from what is otherwise a wonderful experience. I really enjoyed my time on the farm and would definitely come back
