I stayed here last summer for two weeks, one week alone and one week with a friend. They have such a beautiful home and the room I stayed in was always cool even during the day which was really great in terms of the heat!
I did a range of work, from wood collecting to gardening, and this was always in the morning (after a cup of proper espresso!)
… read more which meant that I could spend the afternoons biking through the beautiful gorge with a bike they lent me, or go on drives to explore different places with them.
From cooking traditional pizza in a pizza oven to attending a concert in Italian, I felt fully immersed in this amazing culture, and spending time playing Uno and card games (and their piano/guitar!) helped me to feel comfortable here.
I felt very welcome here, and really enjoyed this as my first Workaway experience!
I'm missing their adorable dog Seal very much, and cannot recommend this Workaway enough.
Thank you for your hospitality :)

We had an amazing 3 week stay with this wonderful family. We cannot recommend enough that you stay with them. We hope to see them again whether in Italy or hopefully hosting them one day in Australia.
The hosts: Welcoming and accommodating, very friendly, we spoke a lot of Italian together although they all speak english well, interesting people
… read more and good conversationalists.
The room: Very comfortable, secure double room with great views and a clean and private ensuite bathroom, with independent access. The house is comfortable with a lovely fire to sit in front of for winter (or a cold spring as we had)
The place: Spectacular mountain vista which can't be captured in photos, a very peaceful place to stay and to work outside, interesting places to visit on foot or by car, there are buses that you can take as well if need be
The food: Delicious, healthy and varied, lunch and dinner eaten together
The work: Varied and interesting, differing hours depending on Mauro and Sara's availability but not more than 25 hours over the course of each week, mainly outdoor work
In summary, if you would like to live with, work with and learn from an amazing and generous family in a spectacular mountain setting then we cant recommend this place enoughSó é possível entrar em contato com Workawayers com assinaturas ativas.

It is a great pleasure for us to leave a brilliantly positive feed back for Sara and Mauro! We arrived as workawayers and left as friends, with much promises to go back. We really had a splendid stay: good healthy work in a stupendously beautiful mountainous and green environment, excellent meals, flexibility around our hours, guitar singing,
… read more great conversations around the kitchen table, much ABBA flying around in the evenings, and one very important lesson on How to Open a Pack of Spaghetti in A Flash. It seems important to state that the Family is home to a soon- to- be International Gelato expert, and that he needs help with the tastings and ratings. I encourage all generous happy hearts and willing hands, as well as country lovers, to go spend time alla Corte de Nonna Quercia. Grazie mille à voi!!Só é possível entrar em contato com Workawayers com assinaturas ativas.

We spent almost 3 weeks with Sara and Mauro’s family and it was a great time. Mauro and Sara are both geologists and fascinating people. They could teach us a lot about the stones and even about historical places in the area. We felt as if we were part of the family, since Sara and Mauro welcomed us with open arms. The family’s house is very comfortable and unique. Sara and Mauro have been renovating it for 10 years, always trying to keep and accentuate details of the history of this place. We enjoyed learning more about this huge project and the thinking behind the decisions that have been taken during the renovation.
Since we were there in winter and the weather was bad, we couldn’t work as much as we wanted outside dismantling a fallen stone wall. Instead, we helped with the household for a couple of hours during the morning. In the evening when the children were back at home, we did some language exchange teaching them German and French.
Sara showed us how to cook Italian food, like pizza or pasta and we learned that the worldwide known “Bolognese” is called Ragú in Italian. She always proposed us some activities for the spare time and showed us around. We enjoyed a lot spending time with the family, trekking with Sara and Mauro, swimming with Sara, going for a walk with the dog through the Gorges, building a snowman with Gaia and preparing pizza with Tiago. We hope to meet them again soon!Só é possível entrar em contato com Workawayers com assinaturas ativas.

We spent two weeks with the amazing family of Sara, Mauro, Tiago and Gaia. The place itself is magnificent. Beautiful nature all around, beautiful renovated stone house, awesome food everyday. Regarding work, we helped around garden, cut some bush and grass, helped around the house a bit. We had lot of free days. We enjoyed the work, it was about 5 hours a day maximum.
They have awesome dog called Seal and a wild cats, great mood and taste in food and we are missing them a lot!
Thanks again for hosting us! Hugs,
