I stayed for about a month on George's land and it was a wonderful experience, George is a very welcoming and trusting person and you can feel the love and time he has put into the land, I stayed mostly in the yurt which had a very peaceful ambience and it was very easy to sleep with the sound of the running river nearby. Thanks again for the time shared together!

Lena has been a ray of positivity in her short stay here, very respectful and proactive. I only wish you could have stayed longer to help me with the photos and publicity. I can recommend her to anyone. A great help. Good luck with all your plans, Lena!

I spend one week at George's cortijo and it was an amazing experience. I slept in a beautiful yourte with my own stove who was very helpful for the cold nights of early March 😅. During the day it was quite hard work on the large land of the cortijo : plant some potatoes, gather wood and make a big fire, make a willow gate, repair some walls with

The place where he lives is quite remote but that gives you a strong feeling of freedom and peacefulness. Also you share everyday life with all the animals who live in the cortigo such as horses, cats, dog and sometimes wildboars 😂. I really love my time spend in this special place 🌞

Dear George, Ari and Princess
it has been a extraordinary beautiful and intense time with you at the Cortijo. Such a lovely, enchanted place, the waterfall next door, stunning views (if we weren't in the clouds) and peacefully quiet in the evenings.
After a few hours of hard work during which we learned how to pioneer the land under Georges
… read more guidance - plowing, sowing, watering and irrigation, clearing the land, fencing, planting, manuring - we would be treated with the most exceptional food (thank you for fulfilling even our strangest desires!) , siesta time, meaningful conversations about history, cultures and nationalities (George is very knowledgeable about almost anything due to his years of living in South America, traveling the world and living in the Alpujarras for many years as a tourist guide) so we perceived it as a truly cultural exchange.
The simple way of living and working the land brought so much peace and contentment to our minds (if one doesn't hit the main water supply pipe while plowing...) and the spare time in the afternoons gave us many opportunities to expresss ouselves creatively, go for a hike, get to know the neighbours, animals, join a soundhealing session or even building and enjoying a sauna! Although there is more than enough space and time for solitude and seclusion, Georges social attitude offered a network of contacts to artists, healers, builders and many locals.
Through this connectedness and the openness of home and heart we felt truly nurtured, respected and wellcome all the time.
We both feel deeply grateful for this very special time, being able to call the yurt a home for longer than we initially thought (up to 3 months!) and getting to know a way of living which inspired our attitudes and values towards our future lives profoundly.
George, thank you so much! All the love, all the power to you, to Ari, Hannuman and Princess. We miss you.Só é possível entrar em contato com Workawayers com assinaturas ativas.

My two weeks at this enchanted place were the most memorable
in my year of travelling through Italy and Spain.
I instantly fell in love with the Alpujarra valley and the little white villages of La Taha.
My arrival at George's cortijo was straight out of a fairytale.
George met me with his horse in the village and with a bloodred sunset over
… read more the valley
he let me ride Princess back to the cortijo.
I loved the original Mongolian yurt that was to be my sleeping quarters.
Ari and Ivi are two very pleasant, independent and wonderfully bright children.
And they are fabulous hill walkers!
The weather was gorgeous for early October, so working outdoors was an absolute pleasure.
I helped George positioning solar panels on the roof of the new holiday house.
I also had a nice time decorating and reorganising the yurt.
But most of my time I worked in the garden.
We had some lovely meals cooked by visiting German friends. The rest of the time I did most of the cooking.
It is such a beautiful place for walking and that is what I did at every opportunity.
I met some wonderful people in La Taha. This place is unique.
Some of my best memories are : Baking with Ivi and picking raspberries together, flamengo lessons ,
a giant paella pan to feed a whole village,
and climbing the Meschito at sunset.
This was a truly magical Workaway experience.Só é possível entrar em contato com Workawayers com assinaturas ativas.

Leila is fantastic and I'd recommend her as an asset for any task needing to be done, a positive and proactive energy for any environment and as a very talented, free-spirited, brave and open young woman, with a surprising amount of experience for her age. Her Spanish and English are excellent. Her manner with children great, easily charming our

It was a great pleasure to meet this little family! I feel really, really welcome! I thought to go there for a week, I stay two, and I'm planing to go back! George and Viviana introduced me to their friends and neighbors, we go to the river (fishing, but we didn't catch any fish) and to my first flamenco class!
George's place is wonderful. And
… read more it's so nice to have a private yurt, so comfortable. We share all the meals, cooking with a lot of vegetables and potatoes from the garden... The work is easy, as weeding, animal care, etc... But I learn a lot about animals (like horse care, and I saw the birth of nine baby rabbits!) or water canals, solar panels, well, about sustainable projects.
Ari is a child so plentiful of energy (no school when I was there!) and I really hope to meet Ivi next time.
I recommend hundred percent to any person who want to discover the nicest place of Spain, Las Alpujarras, to go there!
