Luca is also absolutely adorable - sometimes you had to do some "motivational work" with regard to walking him - to be fair: in rainy weather I don't always feel like going out the door either;-) I have grown very fond of him !
This was my first experience with workaway and also with traveling alone. It couldn't have been better for me and I am very grateful to Niall that I am returning to Germany with a full heart. Ennis is also a great place to travel to different parts of Ireland (another plus)
My wish for Niall is that he gets reliable and appreciative workaway people in the future - that's exactly what he deserves.

I spent two weeks at Niall's house and I'm very thankful to him in the first place that he would give me a chance to stay at his place rather spontaneously.

His dog Luca is gorgeous. He's very good with humans and would never do anyone harm, he loves being petted and makes very good company. While walking him he may be a bit stubborn, like pulling when he catches a certain smell or barking when he'll see other dogs but with a little bit attention to your surroundings and a little bit of tension in your body this is definitely no problem.
To conclude I can say that I enjoyed the time with Niall and Luca a lot and that I can recommend everyone to meet both of them in person. Ennis is a lovely town as well with a lots of shops and pubs and very good connections to other beautiful places in Ireland. So if you have the chance, Go for it!Comentário

During my stay, I helped with housework and looked after his wonderful dog, Luca, which was a joy. He is very comfortable and loves napping on the couch or his sleeping mat. But he also takes his "duties" very seriously and is always eager to chase away cats or birds from the backyard. Luca is such a loving dog with a wonderful personality, one of my favourite moments was when he carefully placed his toys in my shoes and looked at me with big warm eyes that were filled with pride. The relationship Niall and Luca share is truly heart-warming and unique, Luca means the world to Niall, and Luca and everyone who is lucky enough to spend time with them can truly see and feel that.
Niall was very transparent when it came to the work, making sure I always understood what was needed and was comfortable with everything. He went above and beyond to make sure I had an amazing time, encouraging me to explore the area and even helping with planning trips or taking me to different places himself.

He’s a truly kind man, and it’s easy to talk to him because he has knowledge of a wide variety of topics. You certainly won’t get bored, and you’ll have the opportunity to engage in many interesting conversations.
Regarding Ennis, it is a beautiful quaint town with decent public transportation. Moreover, you’ll have plenty of free time to explore places you’re interested in. :)

From the first moment when we set up the call, Jenny impressed in every way. Her politeness was impeccable, she was sophisticated and her good humour shone through from the very beginning.

… read more everything felt so smooth and relaxed. Jenny was, in person, every bit as charming, pleasant and capable as she was on the video call. Organisationally Jenny excelled: she proactively saw things that needed doing and she persuasively made her suggestions and backed them up by a willingness to act and to work hard.
The main duties for my workaway involve taking care of my dog, Luca. Throughout the entire time, Jenny was truly kind and loving towards Luca and with her skilled persuasion and persistence, she helped him hugely to settle, to learn new things and to improve his behaviour.
The other aspect of my workaway involves looking after the house, keeping it in good condition. Again, Jenny brought her can-do, positive ethic to this. She was scrupulous in maintaining the house to the highest standard. More often than not she saw additional things that needed doing, and then, quietly, without any fuss, she just looked after these things.
Communication with Jenny was great! She's fluent in English and German and despite being charmingly modest about her abilities it seems to me that she picks up languages and nuances super quickly. Her overall approach is sociable, kind and adaptable. She’s sophisticated and articulate, understanding and acting in a way that makes each situation better. That's no doubt due to her character which is grounded in a deep humility, a generous sense of humour, insightful intelligence, sincere compassion, innate empathy and a depth of true humanity that will touch you deeply.
In summary, Jenny is someone who is an exceptional human being and her presence and help will immeasurably brighten and enhance your life each and every day.

Luca is such an adorable, cute doggo in the house and the garden. He of course will need some training all his life for he is a hunting dog but in general, if you finally got his attention, he is willing to follow all the commands and will do anything for a treat! Walking him is something more difficult if you're not experienced with dogs. Whenever he recognizes other dogs he cannot like, he will pull, bark and get a little bit crazy, just be prepared for that kind of experience.
Niall did everything possible, to bring us to the best places to fulfill the touristic heart. We had the best laughs, wine and gin tastings and fun evenings with some private salsa dance lesson included.

Work really didn’t feel as work at all.
The main part was looking after Luca when Niall wasn’t at home. I took Luca for walks and helped exercise him not pulling on the lead, played with him and did some light housework.

… read more list of cool places around to visit during my stay. His home is located in a small town on the west coast of Ireland. There are plenty of shopping places, cafes and pubs within walking distance. There is also a train/bus station within walking distance that will take you to Galway, Limerick and beautiful tourist attractions like the Cliffs of Moher! The work was not hard. Daily cleaning jobs and taking care of/help train his dog Luca. Luca is very cute and is currently being trained to not pull on the lead and be more obedient outdoors. He is a breed of hunting dog, therefore his sense of smell is quite strong and he tends to get sidetracked. However, I found Luca to be such a good dog and I miss him so much! I am so grateful for this experience and would highly recommend requesting to stay with Niall and Luca! Luca is such a sweet dog and Niall is patient in showing and explaining how to take care of him properly. Luca likes to play and cuddle and he even lets you sleep in ;) He is a very good companion for a stay in a small irish town while Niall is away. The small cleaning tasks are the least one can do while being guest in such a great home.
I strongly recommend coming here if you want to get to know ireland, enjoy good conversation and want to learn a lot about yourself. I needed to get away for a while and Niall and Luca's home was the perfect place for that.

Everything she did was done with care and a willing heart. She took on anything that was asked of her, and then did more.

Sharing space and living with Katie was really easy and really pleasant – she added character, life and warmth throughout her stay.
My biggest regret is that Katie had to leave because she was moving on with her travels but my greatest hope is that you will be as fortunate and lucky as Luca and I were, and that you’ll have the chance to meet Katie.
Niall was my first workaway host ever and even though I'm a person with a lot of doubts, I have to say there couldn't have been a better one.
His house felt like home to me and he and Luca soon became family. Niall is a great man with fantastic humour, always kind und caring and he makes the best coffee in the world. ;) I especially enjoyed the
… read more talks with him about the goods and bads of life and soo much more. He got to know me so well within two weeks and taught me a lot about my own personality.. Also he really got me into dancing which I've never done before and by now I absolutely love it. Luca is the sweetest dog you'll ever meet. I miss his plays and cuddles more than ever. He and Niall have a great relationship and I felt like a part of the team from the first day on.
The work I had to do wasn't hard at all and Niall would never get mad at me about what I have done or haven't done. I had plenty of time to go for a walk or grab a coffee in town plus I had a few days off to visit Limerick, the Cliffs of Moher, Aran Islands etc.. Sometimes Niall took me to places, aswell, and I loved it.
To come to an end, all I can say is that this has been a great experience for my travels and my life and that I'll definitely come back to visit Niall and my boy Lucky Pucky. P.S. Niall, I'm not the broccoli. ;)
