  We are a family run SCUBA diving school based in the south of Sri Lanka, Unawatuna. The school opened in 2014 and we've been happily growing ever since! We open for the season from November to April/May each year.
  
  Our daily activities include Fun Dives for certified divers, Discover Scuba Diving courses, Open Water courses, Advanced OW courses, Snorkeling tours and much more..
  We have around 10 locally paid staff in our team during the season, helping with all the activities such as boat captain, dive masters, dive instructors, manager, social media manager and helpers.
  
  It's important for us to have an open and friendly atmosphere for both our staff and customers.. smiles and open minded people only!

  We are based in Unawatuna, Galle. We are on the coast but it's also easy via bus/tuk tuk to travel to inland areas. There are countless ways to experience the Sri Lankan culture, and you will be able to first hand working and living with us daily. You get Sri Lankan breakfast and lunch on your working days, you will be interacting with our Sri Lankan staff and customers throughout the day and living with some of our Sri Lankan staff getting the full cultural experience!
  Nearby we have many popular attractions such as Japanese Peace Pagoda, Galle Fort, Koggala Lake, Sea Turtle Hatchery Sanctuary, Dewata Surf Beach, Spice/Herb gardens and much more that you can visit..
  
  If you are not already a diver, you have the opportunity to learn diving with us in exchange for your help!

  Ajuda

  We are looking for volunteers for the NEXT SEASON (October 2025 - April 2026):
  
  1.
  EXPERIENCED certified DIVE MASTERS and INSTRUCTORS to join us for the whole season (October-April) or for a minimum of 6 weeks. We would like you to be involved in all the scuba diving tasks such as dive guiding, teaching beginners (DSD divers), setting up equipment, loading boats, talking to customers if needed, giving dive briefings, any manual jobs etc..
  
  In exchange we will offer you a friendly and relaxed environment, along with free accommodation and traditional Sri Lankan breakfast (bread and dhal) and lunch (rice and curry) on your working days. We can also provide you with basic necessities such as tea, sugar, salt, oil, etc
  We would need you to volunteer maximum 5 days per week, with days off mostly on week days, weekend days off to pre-plan with us. Plus, free fun dives whenever you like!
  
  2.
  One experienced diver with AT LEAST 40 LOGGED DIVES, at the level of Advanced certified and EFR & Rescue certified, who is keen to become a Dive Master on an internship with us. (If not EFR/Rescue certified you can complete this course with us for a discounted price).
  Here you will be training for the license whilst working (just as an intern/apprentice). During this training you will be helping with all the daily tasks such as setting up/disassembling equipment, loading the boat, supporting instructors on dives and guiding, learning to give dive briefings and information, taking underwater photos and communicating with customers. The internship takes 3-4 months.
  
  In exchange we will offer you a friendly and relaxed environment, along with free accommodation and traditional Sri Lankan breakfast (bread and dhal) and lunch (rice and curry) on your working days. We can also provide you with basic necessities such as tea, sugar, salt, oil, etc. Also in exchange, you will not be paying for the teaching fee usually charged for Dive Master courses.
  We would need you to volunteer at least 5 days per week, with days off mostly on week days- weekend days off to pre-plan with us. Plus, free fun dives whenever you like!
  
  3. One Website Developer/SEO specialist to develop our current website that's been recently created (with your own laptop please).
  
  We would like you to have knowledge and experience with:
  - Developing and creating websites with SEO, Word Press and Elementor.
  - Search engine optimizing and all technical aspects dealt with
  - Graphic Design skills
  - Marketing – updating sites such as Google, , PADI..
  If you are a certified diver this is also a massive plus, knowing the terminology and information! Please let us know when you apply.
  If you are a certified diver you can have free fun dives, if not we can offer a free discover scuba diving course, which gives you the chance to do fun dives afterwards. Discounts on PADI courses.
  
  4. Photographers with OWN camera .
  
  5. Support with social media pages - we already have social media manager, we would like some new ideas and support with extra content. Additionally, to help with speaking to customers and welcoming them. Some diving experience needed.
  
  Please don't message us just for extra help around the dive centre/cleaner, we don't need it. We just need the roles specifically stated :) thank you!

  You will be staying in a basic staff house accommodation, located on the main road- likely with our other staff/volunteers in a safe and quiet area. You might need to share a room with 1-3 people, staying on a bunk bed or single, depending if there are other volunteers at the time. You will have a shared kitchen to use at any time you like.
  
  All volunteers will receive breakfast and lunch at the dive centre on their working days, and basic amenities such as tea, coffee, sugar, salt etc. if needed for home. Just ask.

  Unawatuna really gives you the chance to experience the hustle and bustle of the Sri Lankan culture, but also take some time out on some quiet beaches or inland forest areas when needed. Unawatuna beach is a very fun place to be in the season and there's always something going on like live music, cultural dance shows, cooking classes, beach parties, yoga retreats and more! We would love to have a like minded person joining us who is open, carefree and fun. We also know diving can be very tiring so do not worry, you are not expected to continue your day with us when you are finished.. please spend your free time how you want!
  
  The diving school is also connected to a beautiful beach restaurant serving all kinds of food and good vibes.
