I stayed here for 3 weeks and had a truly beautiful experience. Paulo is an incredibly generous guy who really makes the effort to ensure everybody feels welcome and has everything they need. This is a place where everybody is encouraged to make themselves at home and express themselves in their most authentic way. Paulo puts a lot of trust into
… read more volunteers and provides space for creative exploration and projects, such as some volunteers with artistic skills being encouraged to put their print on the place. Never was I being watched closely to ensure work was being done to a specific standard, it was trusted that everybody was doing their best and that was enough. The other volunteers that I spent a lot of time with were equally wonderful people, whom I’ve many fond memories of playing music, working on projects, eating (a lot!) and having deep and meaningful conversations, as well as a lot of silly ones! Paulo had lunch with us most days, and despite being in high demand with organising works here, coordinating volunteers and being a devoted husband to his wife Valentina (whose a superb cook!) and father to his two young daughters, he showed a genuine interest in getting to know us volunteers and brought a true sense of presence to our conversations. The landscape is breathtaking, with spectacular views of the Messina channel, Sicily and even Stromboli and a snow-capped Mount Etna (when the weather permitted!). The many chickens are a delight to have around and the resident cat, Lygia, has a beautiful disposition and loves human company - when she’s not exploring! The two brothers that work on the site permanently are also great fun and very patient with volunteers, despite me speaking only a little Italian, they ensure to speak clearly and simply and are always smiling. I also sustained an injury thus was unable to do much manual work in my final week, yet Paulo was so understanding and encouraging me to only do what I felt I could day by day with no stress.
I’ve no doubt I’ll return here and know I’ll feel at home in myself and the space when I do. Grazie mille a Paulo e tutti ❤️
This was my first experience as a workawayer and I highly recommend this place for everyone. Paolo is a fantastic host, kind and welcoming. This is absolutely amazing, perfect for anyone looking to experience rural life. The work was fulfilling and I leave with great memories, and wonderful friendships. Grazie mile Paolo!!

Bailey is a great young guy. Beautiful outside as much as inside (as my greatgrandmother would have said). We had a great time togheter, he is a hard worker, always ready, and never complaining guy. It was a very pleasure and a great honor to have him here. I hope him all the best in life. Highly recommended

My month spent here has been the most transformative experience of my life. I highly encourage you to go! Paolo has been an incredible mentor to me. He is kind, gentle, and wise. There is a small jungle, a beautiful waterfall, nice places to walk. The sea is not so quickly accessible but you can access the bus up and down each day. The fresh nuts, eggs, fruits and veggies- amazing. I am still dreaming about the fresh khaki fruits and figs. The other volunteers were great to work and live with, we had such a fun community. I was able to choose to spend time by myself as well to meditate, read, and enjoy nature. Upon my arrival I spontaneously did one week without my phone and then an entire day of silence alone by myself. I highly recommend this. I learned so much about myself and what I really value and want in life, and what kind of a person I want to be. It inspires me to the kind of homestead I want to create for my family one day. And Paolo inspires me as to the kind of man I want to be one day. Much love :)Fotos

Paolo and his family was able to take me in last minute, and I was welcomed to stay as long as I needed, as they had the space. This place is incredibly beautiful, high in the mountains of Calabria, nestled in the heart of Mediterranean. This place has a view overlooking Sicily and the harbour of Messina. On a clear day you can see Stromboli,
… read more Lipari, and Mt Etna in the distance. This place is designed to be the venue for retreats and parties. Two weeks before I arrived they had hosted the first lesbian wedding in Calabria. Paolo is the chillest host I've had so far in my experience. Always calm, kind, and zero stress. Here you live on Calabrian time, things get done when they get done. I spent two weeks with his family and two other volunteers. We woke up and started working at our own phase. At this time we mostly cared for the garden, weeding and picking tomatoes. There were tons of tomatoes of different varieties. Never seen so much tomatoes in my life. We were also building a chicken coop, which I really enjoyed as we had full autonomy in working on it together with the volunteers with some occasional help. No judgemental eyes lurking behind our backs, looking for mistakes or lack of motivation for the work. There was full trust that we were doing our best. I was really able to relax and enjoy the work and fun. In the evenings we sat down with a bottle of homemade wine to watch the sun go to sleep behind Sicily, and the city light up for the night. There were occasional guests visiting the campsite who joined us for dinner and shared stories. One night they had invited a band to perform and some people to enjoy the music, good food (tomatoes), and good company. It was truly a pleasure and an honor to be part of this dream come to reality. Thank you so much Paolo and Valentina for having me. I wish you all the best!❤️Só é possível entrar em contato com Workawayers com assinaturas ativas.
