  Hi my name is Alex and I own and manage two boats that are used for youth sailing camps in the summer months. A 50’ schooner, and a 53' schooner. From June-August the boats are under contract and chartered for team building and sailing instruction. That keeps myself and a hired captain very busy in the summer months, but the rest of the year we have the boats to maintain, but also use for sailing adventures and lessons in the Virgin Islands!
  
  The task is helping out on two cool sailboats in the US virgin islands., a 53' schooner and a 50’ schooner.
  Accommodations are aboard the 53' steel expedition style schooner. She has 9 berths aboard and a lot of deck space for sleeping in hammocks under the stars on clear nights.
  The boat is docked at the beautiful Sapphire Marina, there is a beautiful beach as well as a pool. from here it is easy to access the bus routes on STT. Red Hook is a 7 minute walk away where there is plenty to do. Also the ferry to St John leaves from Red Hook.
  
  For our full time sailing internship position every week you will be aboard sailing around the USVI , leading snorkels, hikes , and sharing the knowledge you gain of sailing and knots with participants of our sailing program.
  Room and board are provided.

  The best thing about living on a sailboat is the experience gained in learning how to sail, navigate, handle a vessel at sea and also close quarters. Living on a boat is very different than life ashore, it's always an adventure.

  Ajuda

  Looking for some help with painting, varnishing, rigging, canvas, mechanics, etc. these things never end on sailing boats! no prior skills are required as everything on a sailboat is teachable. This is a volunteer position for multiple Workaways.
  
  Starting may 15 we also are in need of 1 lucky full time crew member ( this is paid sailing internship) to help run our youth sail training program. There will be 10 back to back weeks of trips sailing around ST John under the direction of our captain leading youth groups on unforgettable adventures. Again this is a sailing internship for a semi qualified and excited individual. You will have private accommodation aboard the vessel. Room and board plus 200$ payment for each 5 day trip. Crew members also split tips with the Captain. Tips can range from $50- $300 per trip. This position requires a commitment from may 20- august 20. Experience is not necessary but a willingness to learn, engage, and teach our customers is a must.
  
  This is a sailing internship.
  
  By the end of the commitment you will be well versed in sailing and boat handling, plus you will have become intimately familiar with the waters of the USVI and could easily work aboard any paying charter boat as a competent crew.

  there are 9 berths in 4 shared cabins with one shared bathroom and a outdoor shower. usually we wont have more than 3 or 4 workawayers aboard so there is a lot of space aboard the 53' schooner! each bunk has a privacy curtain, fan, and reading light.
  
  She has a galley(kitchen) with a small fridge and stove, but plenty of cooking space.

  Lots of activities around the USVI! . There are lots of sights, beaches, and bars on St Thomas that make the day life and night life exciting all the time. a 15 minute ferry ride from St Thomas is St John, the most beautiful island In the USVI with 75% being national park there are countless untouched beaches and exciting trails to be explored. St Thomas and St John can easily be explored in your own time anytime
