We only are considering applicants with the legal right to work in the United States.
We came to the Caribbean to because of our passion for environmental sustainability. My partner is a marine scientist. Together we've been putting all of our energy into ways we can be impactful educators through eco-tourism and local outreach. We found a magnificent property and we're excited about what we're doing here. We've opened a plant-based retreat center and inn to share with people educational programs, the importance of environmental sustainability , social justice advocacy, historic preservation, health empowerment, and habitat restoration.
I rode my bicycle 12,000 miles across Latin America. We both love to meet new people and we love to share our passion for environmental conservation and healthy living. We look forward to meeting you!
We are located on 19-acres along the Caribbean Sea. U.S.A. Today has called this spot the best scuba dive site in the Caribbean (shipwrecks and reef). The historic buildings here date back to 1760 and are on the National Registry of Historic Places. It's a challenge to restore buildings like this and we could certainly use your help.
We are very focused on environmental stewardship. We've begun restoring the coral reefs here as we treat diseased corals, work on solutions to runoff and sediment in the near-shore and exploring methods to grow and place new coral colonies. We also have planted well over 100 trees and plan to plant many more.
We've been hosting Workawayers for quite awhile and we've had great experiences. More than six of the workawayers that visited have moved to the island. And many of the workawayers have come back or are planning to return for a second or third (and fourth!) stay with us.
At this time we are seeking just a few people on Workaway. We are looking for people with lots of construction experience as well as people that have hotel management experience. We offer pay of $10.50 per hour plus accommodations. You're responsible for your food costs. We have comfortable accommodations with a staff house and stocked kitchen. And we're right next to the sea so it is easy to swim everyday if you'd like.Tipos de ajuda e oportunidades de aprendizado

Be part of this incredible project on the Caribbean island of St. Croix (U.S. Virgin Islands). Help us restore a 263-year-old historic estate, lay the groundwork for local food security, and work with us to create an eco-tourism experience with an emphasis on environmental and social education. All that while learning about the important history of the island and immersing yourself in the nature of the rain forest and the coral reefs. As you explore the ocean, learn about the sea turtles snorkel the coral reefs and help us protect the natural habitat. Come eat delicious vegan food with us and work with us as we find local solutions to some of the most pressing global concerns.

We want you to be comfortable while you are here. You'll be staying in a house restored by other Workawayers. Expect to share a room with one to three other people of the same gender (we have plenty of beds). We have private rooms for couples. We have a washer and dryer for you to use and a kitchen for the crew. We have plenty of great food available. The ocean is steps away. And the ancient baobob trees are right outside.

We offer pay of $10.50 per hour plus accommodations and we accept a limited number of people at a time. You're responsible for your food costs.
Only positions are for people with relevant experience and skills.
We have bicycles you are welcome to use. Town is just 3 miles (5km) away. Beaches are very close. The rain forest is all around us. You can take longer excursions to Buck Island, the lighthouse, the Monk's Baths, Rainbow Beach, Sandy Point and local farms. Tour the sugar mill ruins, learn about the island's history and learn about the nesting sea turtles and coral restoration programs. If you want to learn to scuba dive you can take a dive course in town and bicycle there. If you are dive certified already there are opportunities to go scuba diving. There's time and opportunity to do things with us and on your own. So far, we've hosted a good number of people from Workaway and we've had great experiences. Many of the people coming from workaway have extended their stays with us and we've even had someone come for a fourth visit already. Six people who first came to this island to join us through Workaway have now moved to the island.Mais alguns detalhes
