Want to escape to the mountains and work in beautiful Nozawa Onsen, Japan?
We are looking for an enthusiastic, responsible, self-motivated couple (2 people) to help us manage and maintain our guesthouse from mid December, 2026 - late March 2027.
We offer private staff room. Ski passes are included.
- Manage day to day hotel operations
- Housekeeping - Keep rooms and common areas clean and welcoming
- Create a warm, homely atmosphere for guests
- Snow clearance (can be very physical work)
- Handyman skills would be great
- Happy to wake up early (6am starts)
Experience in management/housekeeping preferred although training is provided. Must have permission to work in Japan. Approximately 4-7 working hours per day (one day off per week). Payment amount depends on the experience of the candidate.
We are located a few minutes walk from the ski resort chairlifts.
Nozawa Onsen is a small, traditional village with a lot of history and friendly local neighbours, we are looking for staff who fit in will with this style of life as we want to maintain this calm atmosphere. The majority of our guests are families.
In your free time, you can ski, soak in the onsen, or explore the village.

We are english speaking and so are the majority of our guests. Staying and working in a small village in Japan is in itself a fantastic cultural experience. Nozawa Onsen is over 1000 years old and families have been in the village for many generations. From using the local Onsens, the day to day activities will allow use of Japanese language and taking on the infamous Japanese recycling system which is an experience in itself.
