I am 100% sure I´ve met the greatest family in all of New Zealand. There are not enough words to describe how wonderful my time with them was.
They were so welcoming and generous and made me feel like part of the family. Silke is such a caring and kind person and has a great taste in music (make sure to sing with her in the bakery, it´ll do
… read more wonders). Graeme is super funny (a lot of great Dad jokes) and alwasy looking out for me. The boys were so sweet, you can talk with them about books, movies and they are always intrested to learn something new or to teach you some fun games (I still can´t toss a card across the room, but they were good teachers). They taught me a lot about Ne Zealand and took me on fun roadtrips. I loved every minute i was there and miss their place a lot. She helped with all the things we asked her to and picked up on novel tasks speedily.

We had so much fun together- on trips away and at the dinner table (with great food cooked by her and a Sunday cake too).
Her laughter and sense of humour was infectious- we hope she will come back to stay with us again.

I spent two and a half weeks with Silke, Graeme, Lukas and Jakob and I realy wish that it could have been longer. They are such a friendly and nice family and we had such a good time that I will surely miss them. My time in New Zealand could not have started in a better way: I had so much fun with this family! Graeme was really busy with work while I was there, so I was happy to help Silke when she needed it the most. Luckily we had the chance to spent a nice weekend all together walking on a really beautiful trail. On my first day, they welcomed me
… read more picking me up from the bus stop and with home-made pizza for dinner! For most of the days, I helped in the morning but Silke is really flexible and when the weather was nice she let me go for walks in town or at the beach. I usually helped with housekeeping and cooking dinner, sometimes I dropped the boys off to school and once I helped moving woodfire. Lukas and Jakob are really fun boys: they are both really passionate about reading, jumping on the trampoline, Pokemon (haha), scootering and biking. Silke and Graeme both know a lot about hikes in New Zealand, so they are always ready to give tips and suggestions for the next destinations. Silke taught me how to make bread and I ended up making my own first loaves. She also taught me how to use a sewing machine and now I'm travelling with my first home-made bag. In short, I learned so much with all of them!
