Easy 5 stars. I valued my 8 nights with David and Jodi. They are really cool people (I’d call them a power couple) and so lovely - I felt warmly welcomed the moment David stepped out of his car to greet me the day he picked me up.
The property is a great place to stay. They’ve worked hard on it and done some interesting and creative things. I had

I felt well looked after: they made sure I had plenty of food to fend for myself during the day, being very respectful and accommodating with my dietary requirements, and I would join them in the evenings for a nice meal in the house. The local area is peaceful and picturesque and it was nice to go for a walk when the sun was out. I also got to tag along to Coffs Harbour and a couple of local places. Getting to spend time with Popcorn the dog was of course a big bonus of staying here, she is incredibly sweet and will melt the heart of any animal lover.
I thought the work exchange worked well. Jodi would give me a task to do, show me how to do it, and leave me to get on with it in my own time and at my own pace on the condition that I averaged out at the daily hours they were looking for. Expectations were clear and fair. The work was varied and there was no shortage of motivation to get it done because it’s easy to see that there’s a bright future on this piece of land and I enjoyed playing my small role in the process. It is a great environment to be in, seeing a vision tangibly brought to life every day. I was also happy to be learning some new things, which was the main thing I had been hoping to get out of the experience.
Highly recommend getting in touch with these hosts to anyone who is thinking about doing so.

Grainne was with us for a week and during that time we really enjoyed having her help on or flowerfarm . Grainne was very hard working and also respectful of the property and left her accomadation perfectly tidy. She embrassed learning some new things about growing flowers and was happy to do extra bits like dog sitting etc when we went out . She

I had a fantastic 5 night stay with David, Jodi, and of course, Popcorn! From the start, they were super welcoming - David picked me up from Coffs Harbour and dropped me off at the train after my stay, which was much appreciated.

It felt good to be part of something hands on and purposeful. It’s a great project they have going, transforming an old winery into a flower farm with exciting plans for workshops and classes. Jodi brings amazing energy and passion to the project, and David is super supportive - together a formidable duo!
Accommodation was great - really private, spacious, and with your own kitchen stocked with everything you need to sort out breakfast and lunch. Evenings were lovely too, with shared dinners in their house, good conversation, and the occasional documentary (and Robbie Williams movie!).
Nana Glen is rural and peaceful. There's a café, store, and pharmacy within walking distance. I enjoyed the slower pace breaking up my travels - local walks and runs, and a trip into Coffs at the weekend with David and Jodi to see the market and bring Popcorn to the beach.
If you're into nature, meaningful work, and good company, I'd definitely recommend this Workaway. Looking forward to following the journey of Petal N Vine online! Go n’éirí leat! 🍀

Countney was our first Workaway visit and she was just great - She was clear around her work avaialbility and we managed to find a shift pattern that suited both her and us . While Countney was with us she did some cleaning jobs around the house as the weather was a bit wet and then moved into the garden which i beleive she really enjoyed and her

A Fantastic Workaway Experience with David, Jodie, and Popcorn!
I had the opportunity to be the very first Workawayer at David and Jodie’s new flower farm, and it was a wonderful experience. From the beginning, they made me feel right at home.
The accommodation was amazing—a private, converted restaurant space
… read more that’s separate from the main house. It has everything you need, including a fridge, a really comfy bed, and your own bathroom. The views are beautiful, with lots of natural sunlight, and it was the perfect place to relax. They stocked the fridge with all sorts of goodies so I could make my own breakfast and lunch, plus some tasty snacks like donuts and chocolates.
The work itself was really rewarding. I mainly did gardening, and cleaning. I loved the gardening—it’s one of those jobs where you can see the results right away, which was really satisfying. Jodie is a powerhouse, organising everything and working incredibly hard to turn the winery into a vibrant flower farm.
They were also really flexible with the hours, which I appreciated. I was able to work in a few big chunks over the weekends and then take it easier during the week, so I had time to do my own thing. It was the perfect balance.
I enjoyed sharing some meals with them, like the delicious spaghetti bolognese that Jodie made, and the tasty quiche David made, but I also had plenty of privacy to do my own thing. They really respect your space and time, which made the experience very comfortable.
And of course, there’s Popcorn, their adorable dog. She’s such a sweetheart and was always there to keep me company, I love her! Spending time with her was a real highlight!
It was really exciting to be part of the early days of this project. If you’re looking for a Workaway that combines rewarding work, lovely company, and a peaceful place to stay, I’d definitely recommend David and Jodie’s flower farm.
