Our two-week stay with Emmy was truly amazing. From the start, we were engaged in a variety of tasks that offered us the freedom to explore and learn. Emmy provided frequent guidance and also considered our suggestions, which allowed us to grow our skills and try new things.
Some of the tasks we have done were: Powering a shipping container with

During our stay, we witnessed the incredible birth of baby turtles, savored fresh vegetables from her garden, and even rescued a lost chicken that had been stealing eggs from neighbors (26 fresh eggs in total!). We also had the pleasure to bond with her two bengal cats, which are lovely!
We also shared wonderful lunches and evenings with Emmy, the other workawayer Jarred from the USA, and her friendly neighbors. The warmth and authenticity of these peoples made for real connections and lasting memories.
Emmy graciously let us park our camper on her land while we flew to a wedding, a gesture that exemplified her kindness. After returning, we've spent even more time with her, enjoying dinner together and planning future visits. We discovered not just a kind soul in Emmy, but a true friend.
We’re excited to see the development of her new house and look forward to more shared experiences in the future. Highly recommend spending time with Emmy if you get the chance!

I can only recommend Jared very highly to any host. As I was focussing on my big project I felt I could leave tasks and projects to Jared. This was my first workaway opportunity and I feel as though I got very lucky. I spent a month in the Netherlands with Emmy and it has been the highlight of my travels. Rui and Morgan are a wonderful couple, kind and toughtful. Emmy is a very kind and generous host.
I stayed with her for two weeks during which I did a lot of woodcutting, decluttering, digging, helping out with the caravan and of course cleaning the toilet units.
The accomodation is simple but adequate. There's good food and good company (cats, neighbours). If you are enthusiastic about getting some real

During my visit there were some deadlines that had to be met due to which some days were a bit intense. But it was also nice to be able to make a meaningfull contribution. And thank you, Emmy, for welcoming me in your home even though you were very busy. Thank you and bonne chance with your new house!Feito pelo anfitrião para o Workawayer (Daan)
Hosting Daan for a few weeks was a good match. I'm incredibly grateful for all he's managed to do in such a short time. And a bit suprised, so much work got done! Great to host Travis here, we got lots done and when I was at work he just got on with it, I didn't need to be there. We talked and ate pickled fish =] Travis will feel at home anywhere and a host can really benefit from his input and initiative. Hope to see you again Travis!

Emmy was an absolutely amazing person to get to know over the course of my five weeks with her. Her garden was awe-inspiring to be in, and the environment she cultivates in her own space and with others is beautiful. The property is going through a bit of a transition period, so there is never a lack of things to do, but also never a dull moment.
… read more There were always things to learn, be it turtle husbandry, semi-wild gardening, construction, Dutch culture, or your own strength of self, I thoroughly feel that my experience with Emmy was life changing. My jobs included preparing the greenhouse for winter, caring for the turtles, re-potting succulents for sale, watering the plants, seed collection, turning the compost, organizing the tool barn, organizing the trailer, and playing with the cats. There are some infrastructure gaps to be smoothed over with time, like the toilet and the paths, but the rugged nature of the property is a feature not a bug. Overall I had an amazing stay, and as long as you are flexible and willing to learn, you will do well here.
Emmy, I hope the end of your season is going well. Hope your winter is both restful and productive!Só é possível entrar em contato com Workawayers com assinaturas ativas.

Emmy was a wonderful host to stay with and learn about Dutch culture. I immediately felt welcome and part of the community. Cedric, who I would typecast as an academic type was very nice to host, all friendly and interested in just about everything. He did a great job on the projects and tasks. I learned a lot about court-cases and the Australian mining practices :) He quickly made friends with my neighbours and got along with everybody.

My stay with Emmy was very pleasant and she was very accomodating despite my last minute request. Along with Emmy, the neighbors are very friendly. I had fun learning about welding and the various construction projects. They were all hackerspace members from Amsterdam, so it was fun talking tech with them. Emmy's cats are great to be around,

In the trailer, the bed is comfortable, and there is a fridge and a heater available. There is also fast wifi available around the area at Emmy's, the neighbors, and at the corner inn. There are big grocery stores a quick bike ride away (Aldi and Albert Heijn), so it is easy to find food and things that I needed. You can also walk about 15 minutes to the bus stop, which takes you directly to the Almere central station. I helped till the garden, plant garlic, set up a farm stand, entertain the cats, and I helped Emmy build her new and improved website.Só é possível entrar em contato com Workawayers com assinaturas ativas.

I volunteered for Emmy for a bit over a month. During my stay I got to learn about the garden and what goes into building your own house. Emmy gave me a good insight into Dutch culture and got me hooked on chocomel and speculars. This project is located in such a peaceful spot surrounded by a great community.
