  We’re Cristina and Luka, and we live in San Sebastián, a beautiful city in the Basque Country known for its beaches, cuisine, and welcoming atmosphere. What we love most about living here is being able to enjoy both the sea and the mountains, take walks in the fresh air, and live in a peaceful place that’s also full of cultural life.
  
  We think Workawayers will love it here because they’ll get to experience local life, learn about Basque culture, and enjoy one of the most beautiful places in northern Spain. We’re also close to other interesting places to explore.
  
  At home, it’s just me, Cristina, and my 14-year-old son, Luka. We’re laid-back, respectful, and enjoy spending time together, but we also value personal space. We’d love to meet people from different countries, share experiences, and learn from one another.
  
  We’re looking for open-minded, responsible people with a positive attitude who want to be part of our daily life during their stay.
  We’re looking for people who are eager to help with household chores, such as cooking and cleaning. We’d also love for you to join us on home improvement projects like painting and small repairs we’re working on.

  Somos Cristina y Luka, vivimos en San Sebastián, una ciudad preciosa en el País Vasco, conocida por sus playas, su gastronomía y su ambiente acogedor. Lo que más nos gusta de aquí es poder combinar mar y montaña, disfrutar de paseos al aire libre, y vivir en un lugar tranquilo pero con mucha vida cultural.
  
  Creemos que a los workawayers les encantará porque podrán experimentar la vida local, conocer la cultura vasca y disfrutar de uno de los lugares más bonitos del norte de España. También estamos cerca de otros sitios interesantes para explorar.
  
  En casa vivimos Luka, mi hijo de 14 años y yo, Cristina. Somos tranquilos, respetuosos y nos gusta compartir tiempo juntos, pero también valoramos el espacio personal. Nos encantará conocer gente de diferentes países, compartir experiencias y aprender unos de otros.
  
  Buscamos personas abiertas, responsables y con buena actitud, que quieran formar parte de nuestra vida diaria durante su estancia.

  Workawayers can join us in many of these activities: bike rides, going to the beach, simple outdoor plans, or just sharing daily life. It’s also easy to connect with the local community here, with markets, cultural events, and social activities happening throughout the year.
  
  We enjoy sharing what we know: our local lifestyle, Basque culture, language, and our active way of life. At the same time, we are very interested in learning from others—new cultures, languages, perspectives, and skills.
  
  Hosting people from different countries is a great way for us to open our minds and enrich our daily life. We hope to create a meaningful exchange based on respect, connection, and mutual learning.

  Los workawayers podrán compartir muchas de estas actividades con nosotros: salir en bici, ir a la playa, hacer planes sencillos al aire libre o incluso participar en la vida local.
  Aquí es fácil conectar con la comunidad, ya que hay un ambiente muy social, mercados, eventos culturales y actividades durante todo el año.
  
  Nos gusta compartir lo que sabemos: desde el estilo de vida local, la cultura vasca y el idioma, hasta nuestras aficiones y forma de vivir de manera sencilla y activa. También estamos abiertos a aprender de quienes vienen: nuevas culturas, idiomas, formas de ver la vida y habilidades diferentes.

  I’m looking for people who are eager to help out with household chores, such as cooking and cleaning.
  I’d also like someone to join us on home improvement projects, like painting and small repairs we’re working on.
  
  I’d take the time to explain the tasks until you can do them on your own. And when necessary, we’d do them together.
  If you speak English and are up for it, I’d like us to speak in English so Luka can learn.
  
  Busco personas que tengan ganas de participar en las tareas de nuestro hogar, como las labores de cocina y limpieza.
  También acompañarnos en tareas de mejora de la casa como pintar y pequeñas obras que vamos haciendo.
  
  Dedicaría tiempo para explicar las tareas hasta que puedas hacerlas por tu cuenta. Y cuando sea necesario las haríamos juntas.
  Si hablas inglés, y te apetece, me gustaría que habláramos en inglés para que Luka aprenda.

  Luka wants to become fluent in spoken English. He wants to hear other spoken languages. We can teach you Spanish and Basque. We usually speak Spanish at home. Nosotros hablamos habitualmente en español en casa.

  Accommodation in a single room with a 90-cm bed, including linens.
  A simple, clean room with a balcony.
  Located in the Amara neighborhood of San Sebastián. Very central. You can reach the beach or the mountains in 15 minutes.
  Lunch will be shared most days, and dinner is on your own.
  
  Alojamiento en habitación individual, con cama de 90 cm, equipada con ropa de cama.
  Una habitación sencilla, limpia que da a un balcón.
  En el barrio de Amara de San Sebastián. Muy céntrico. En 15 minutos estás en la playa o en la montaña.
  Las comidas serán compartidas la mayoría de los días y las cenas cada uno por su cuenta.

  In your free time, you can enjoy everything that San Sebastián and its surroundings have to offer. You can go to the beach, surf, walk around the city, or explore nearby hiking and mountain routes. There are also many cultural activities such as concerts, cinema, theatre, and festivals throughout the year.
  
  It’s a great area for cycling and discovering beautiful natural spots, as well as charming nearby towns. The local gastronomy is also a highlight, with plenty of bars and markets where you can try traditional food.
  
  Regarding transport, San Sebastián is very well connected. There are local and regional buses, as well as trains that make it easy to travel around and visit nearby cities. It’s also easy to get around the city on foot or by bike.
  
  En tu tiempo libre, podrás disfrutar de todo lo que ofrece San Sebastián y sus alrededores. Puedes ir a la playa, hacer surf, pasear por la ciudad o explorar rutas de senderismo y montaña cercanas. También hay muchas actividades culturales como conciertos, cine, teatro y festivales durante todo el año.
  
  Es una zona perfecta para moverse en bicicleta y descubrir rincones naturales, así como pueblos cercanos con mucho encanto. Además, la gastronomía local es una experiencia en sí misma, con bares y mercados donde probar comida típica.
