  Hey there -
  
  We discovered this beautiful island in 2007, while travelling around Mexico for the first time, searching for colors, new experiences, tastes and feelings. Our hostel is a familiar place opened in 2010 on the remote island of ‘Holbox’.
  
  The hostel was built from scratch and most of the furniture, details, paintings were made with a lot of love and a HUGE help by our volunteers during all these years. We always wanted to create a different hostel, not just a place where people sleep... but a place that makes people smile every time they think about it.
  
  This is a vibrant and colorful place, with a lot of plants and great people on a tiny paradise in Mexico!!
  
  Our mission is to transform holidays here into an EXPERIENCE where guests from all over the world help us create a space filled with music, art & culture. We also have a nice bar that offers different activities every night: jam sessions, movie nights, live music, quiz nights, giant Jenga, dress-up parties and projects more to be done. Reason why we accept volunteers all year long :)

  Minimum age is 23, please don`t message if you`re younger than that (does not apply to yoga teacher or chef).
  
  ▶▶VERY IMPORTANT: Please check the schedule before you message us. If the color is red, we dont need more volunteers. If we need more people last minute, we will change the color again.
  
  ▶▶We only plan about 2 weeks in advance so please only message us 2-3 weeks before you want to come to holbox. We get lots of messages every day and lose overview otherwise. Also, we need people who are flexible with the dates, as last minute changes can occur. Ideally you are already in the country when you message us and will be in Mexico for a longer period of time.
  
  When you message us, put "PART OF THE TEAM" as your first sentence so we can make sure you have read our profile description.
  
  We are looking for a dedicated ☛“social butterfly” ☚This could involve organising trips to the beach, sunset beers or getting a group together for a night out.
  
  The perfect volunteer is someone who loves interacting with people, is highly energetic, flexible and able to communicate in English and Spanish to rally our guests together to have the best time possible. We will also need you to do some flyering in the evenings.
  
  
  Almost all the staff is from México, so you will be around all the Mexican culture and family :D

  I am Daria (Mexican), the person in charge of activities and volunteers.
  I’m the one who coordinates the activities of the week and creates the volunteers' schedules. I also welcome and show the facilities to the new members of the tribe. Additionally, I solve and answer any questions they may have, and I’m completely open to new ideas and innovative proposals they may bring.

  Holbox is a wild island with white sandy beaches where nature truly connects with you. Here, those who enjoy the outdoors and tranquility will feel right at home.
  
  At Hostel, we have everything you need: a fully equipped kitchen to cook delicious meals, dining areas to share with others, hammocks to relax in, and a beautiful garden where you can train, rest, or just be.
  
  Our Tribe is made up of people from all over the world — guests and volunteers who come with a desire to share culture, languages, food, and good vibes. Here, we create a friendly and social atmosphere so your experience is much more than just a place to sleep.
  
  Every week, we organize at least three activities per day: from salsa dancing classes, cooking workshops, art, cocktails, yoga, to island tours that let you discover this paradise with all your senses.

  Holbox es una isla salvaje con playas de arena blanca donde la naturaleza te conecta de verdad. Aquí, quienes disfrutan del aire libre y la tranquilidad van a sentirse en casa.
  
  En el Hostel tenemos todo lo que necesitas: cocina completa para cocinar rico, comedores para compartir, hamacas para relajarte y un jardín bonito donde puedes entrenar, descansar o simplemente estar.
  
  Está formada por gente de todo el mundo, huéspedes y voluntarios que llegan con ganas de compartir cultura, idiomas, comida y buena onda. Aquí se crea un ambiente social y amigable para que tu experiencia sea mucho más que solo un lugar donde dormir.
  
  Cada semana organizamos mínimo tres actividades por día: desde clases para aprender a bailar salsa, talleres de cocina, arte, cocteles, yoga, hasta paseos por la isla para que descubras este paraíso con todos tus sentidos.

  Without our volunteers, it wouldn't be what it is.
  Even before we opened our doors, we were already welcoming traveling souls eager to be part of this experience. That’s why we continue to receive volunteers from around the world—people who come with the desire to share, learn, and leave their unique mark.
  
  For us, a volunteer is much more than a helping hand. You become part of the family, someone who brings life to the space and helps create the memories that live here.
  
  The exchange consists of 3-hour shifts, 6 days a week, in return for accommodation in a shared dorm inside the hostel.
  Tasks are diverse and shift according to the needs of the moment, as well as your skills or interests. They may include: general maintenance, gardening, leading guest activities, yoga classes or other offerings.
  
  As a small thank you for your energy and commitment, we offer discounted drinks at the bar and other special perks for our crew.
  
  We ask for a minimum stay of 6 weeks, as we value rooted, meaningful processes.

  Desde antes de abrir nuestras puertas, ya dábamos la bienvenida a almas viajeras que querían formar parte de esta experiencia. Por eso, seguimos recibiendo con alegría a voluntarios de distintas partes del mundo que llegan con ganas de compartir, aprender y dejar huella.
  
  Para nosotros, un voluntario es mucho más que una mano de ayuda: es parte de la familia, alguien que trae vida al espacio y que se convierte en cómplice de los recuerdos que aquí se crean.
  
  La colaboración se basa en turnos de 3 horas al día, 6 días a la semana, a cambio de alojamiento en un dormitorio compartido dentro del hostel.
  Las tareas son variadas y se asignan según las necesidades del momento y también las habilidades o intereses de cada quien. Entre ellas están: apoyo en mantenimiento general, jardinería, liderar actividades con los huéspedes, clases de yoga u otras propuestas.
  
  Además, como pequeño agradecimiento por tu energía y compromiso, ofrecemos descuentos especiales en bebidas del bar y otros beneficios que celebran el espíritu de comunidad.
  
  Pedimos una estancia mínima de 6 semanas, ya que valoramos los procesos que toman raíz.
