We are a group of 5 friends (Martin, Nacho, Jose, Sahia and me also called Nacho) who have the chance of protecting nature in a little piece of Land! And we need your help! A family friend of 1 of us, gave us this beautifully place to take care of it, and we are starting to take tourist over there.
We are working in restructure an old building, planting, building a green house, fencing to keep parts isolated. We are also thinking about (and working on) becoming independent on all sorts of energy.
During our free time we enjoy this beautiful place, helping each other, enjoying and respecting nature, playing football, fishing, singing and playing instruments, talking with the foxes, picking up mushrooms, birdwatching, cooking....if you think you can help us, you have a proactive attitude and you love nature and you want to learn of teach something come to work with us

With Us you will learn about Uruguayan music, tango and folclore, costumes and food. You will also be able to learn how to use our natural resources to eat, stay worm, and build. Also you will be able to learn to recognize mushrooms, and birds.

We need help in gardening and building (experience people needed , carpenters, builders, plomers), renewable sources of energy, taking care of animals and vegges (farmers needed) and during summer (December to March) helping with tours and tourists, reception, website and social network (Spanish needed) photography, also any type of artist!

Volunteers are staying in the house that we are working on, it has a fire place that warms it up, nice beds but is not finish yet. It has a beautiful kitchen and a a bathroom. Also there is a huge place to camp. There is not internet, there is not electricity so far(so you should bring your torch), we will have electricity very soon.

Conocer el Cerro Baltazar fue una experiencia increíble. El fato de que no haya energía, água corriente o internet, permite una conexión completa con el espacio.

Thanks to Hostel for everything. I enjoyed my experience here, the guests and volunteers were lovely people. The hostel itself is a great space with lots of places to chill out or party! Amazing workaway! Nacho and Beba are wonderful!! They were so kind and welcoming and made me feel at home right away. Great senses of humour and so much fun. They feel like family now and I'm going to miss them and beautiful La Paloma. I've been here two weeks and wish I could stay longer. I would recommend this workaway 110%!
