I'm Christian, a 40-year old IT guy with a house and 3 cats. My house is a corner house near the centre of Zaandam, which is just a short trip away from Amsterdam. While I'm pretty handy around the house I always seem to be short on time. I'm looking for some help maintaining the place, painting window frames. Fixing up the woodwork of the shed and painting it. In exchange I can offer you the spare room to stay, home cooked meals and cuddles with cats (depending on their moods). I can also give you tips on sights to visit and restaurants to eat.

If you want to learn Dutch I can help you with that. I'd also be happy to share my knowledge on the Amsterdam area and the Netherlands in general. As I work in IT I can also help with any tech issues you might have.

I'm looking for someone who can paint (neatly) and do the preparatory tasks, like sanding, taping, etc. Woodworking experience would be a plus as the shed needs some extra love and affection.

Acomodação
I have a spare room which has a comfortable bed. The room will be private and WiFi is included but you'll have to share the bathroom and toilet. I'm a decent cook, so I can provide dinner. Breakfast and lunch depends on whether I'm at the office or not.

The city centre is a short 5 minute walk from my house, the station a 15 minute walk. There's a bus stop around the corner which will take you to Amsterdam or Zaandam train station. There's some tourist sights in Zaandam (Zaanse Schans windmills) and tons to see in and around Amsterdam. If I'm around I'll be happy to drop you off by car to anywhere nearby.

I can offer a desk or table to work at. Got WiFi throughout the house and garden and a 300/35Mbit internet connection.

Joseph is an awesome guy, I'd recommend him to anyone looking for help.
I stayed with him roughly two weeks and helped out with painting his shed and balcony/terrace.
He was very friendly, welcoming and made me feel relaxed and at home throughout the duration of my stay whilst helping him.
