  I’m particularly interested in suitable visitors for approximately three weeks over Christmas and New Year 2026–27.

  Hi, I’m Tanja! 😊🌿
  
  I live on the beautiful Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia, in a relaxed and peaceful home that I’m gradually transforming into my own little coastal sanctuary.
  
  I’m creative, curious and enjoy meeting people from different countries and backgrounds. I love travelling, art, gardening, kayaking, discovering interesting places and learning new things. I also enjoy sharing stories, ideas and experiences with people from all walks of life.
  
  My home is a single-level house with a swimming pool, spa, sauna and lovely outdoor spaces. I share it with my cat, Bella, who is very much part of the household! 🐈
  
  I’m currently working on making the house and garden more beautiful, comfortable, practical and welcoming. I love the idea of transforming ordinary spaces into something special, preferably by reusing and improving what I already have.
  
  There are lots of interesting little projects, including refreshing the garden and outdoor areas, painting flower pots and furniture, small decorative repairs, improving the bicycle area and pathways, and giving parts of the house a fresh new look.
  
  I’m particularly interested in meeting people who enjoy practical, creative, hands-on projects and who bring their own ideas and experience. I love learning from others and finding clever, economical ways to improve things.
  
  My home is friendly, relaxed and independent. I enjoy good conversation and occasionally sharing a meal, but I also value quiet time, privacy and personal space. I hope my guests feel equally comfortable enjoying their own independence.
  
  For me, Workaway is about more than getting jobs done. It’s an opportunity to exchange ideas, learn from one another, share different perspectives and hopefully make some lovely connections along the way.

  I love meeting people from different countries and cultures and learning about their food, music, art, languages, traditions and everyday lives.
  
  Having travelled extensively myself, I enjoy exchanging travel stories, different perspectives and ideas. I believe there is always something interesting to learn from people with different backgrounds and experiences.
  
  I enjoy art, painting, gardening, wellness, meditation, yoga, kayaking, snorkelling and exploring beautiful and unusual places.
  
  I’m happy to share my local knowledge of the Gold Coast, including beaches, waterways, markets, HOTA (Home of the Arts), galleries, cafés and interesting places to visit.
  
  I also enjoy learning practical and creative skills from others, particularly when we can exchange ideas while working on enjoyable projects together.
  
  I particularly value a relaxed, independent style of cultural exchange.
  
  I’m naturally quite independent and really appreciate having my own space, quiet time and personal routines. I enjoy friendly conversations, sharing ideas and occasionally having a meal or exploring somewhere together, but I don’t generally socialise throughout the day or every evening.
  
  I’m therefore best suited to travellers who are confident exploring independently, comfortable enjoying their own company and don’t expect their host to provide regular entertainment or companionship.
  
  I believe the nicest exchanges happen when everyone feels comfortable being themselves, with a lovely balance of friendly connection, mutual respect and personal freedom.
  
  You’ll have plenty of opportunity to discover the Gold Coast at your own pace, while we enjoy getting to know each other naturally along the way. 🌿😊

  🛠️ PRACTICAL DIY SKILLS ESPECIALLY WELCOME!
  
  WINDOWS • PAVING • FLOORING
  
  Do you have experience in home renovations, painting aluminium window frames, paving or installing flooring? I’d particularly love to hear from you!
  
  I’m looking for capable, resourceful, hands-on people who enjoy making a real difference to a home.
  
  My three biggest renovation priorities are:
  
  🪟 1. WINDOWS & SLIDING DOORS
  
  My home has older brown aluminium window and sliding-door frames that I’d love to refresh and modernise. Experience in preparing and refinishing aluminium would be especially welcome.
  
  🧱 2. PAVING & BICYCLE AREA
  
  I’d love to transform my bicycle parking area with attractive, level paving, preferably reusing existing materials. Experience with paving, ground preparation, levelling and drainage would be especially valuable.
  
  🏡 3. FLOORING
  
  I’m also considering replacing my existing tiled floors with attractive, timber-look flooring.
  
  This project would only proceed if I found someone genuinely experienced in flooring installation, with any required licensing and lawful professional arrangements organised separately.
  
  🌿 Other creative projects
  
  There are also smaller, enjoyable projects including:
  
  * Painting flower pots, planters and outdoor furniture
  * Minor decorative rendering repairs and wall touch-ups
  * Refreshing the gazebo and outdoor living areas
  * Garden edging, bamboo maintenance and landscaping
  * Installing beautiful sheer curtains
  * Practical DIY improvements and creative reuse of existing materials

  I’m gradually transforming my house and garden into a relaxing coastal sanctuary, with a swimming pool, spa, infrared sauna and lovely outdoor areas.
  
  I particularly enjoy meeting independent, considerate people who bring practical skills, fresh ideas and a genuine interest in cultural exchange.
  
  I love learning from others, sharing experiences and exploring creative ways to improve my home without unnecessary expense.
  
  This is a relaxed, respectful household where everyone can enjoy their independence, with opportunities for conversation, shared meals and exploring the Gold Coast.
  
  Christmas and New Year 2026–27: I’m particularly interested in welcoming suitable guests for approximately three weeks.
  
  Ordinary Workaway activities would be agreed in advance and kept separate from any regulated or professional construction work, which would require appropriate arrangements.

  You’ll have your own comfortable, private bedroom in my peaceful Gold Coast home.
  
  The house has shared living areas, a separate kitchen area and lovely outdoor spaces, with plenty of room to relax, unwind and enjoy your own independence and privacy.
  
  You’re welcome to enjoy the swimming pool and garden, and bikes …and a kayak may be available by arrangement.
  
  There’s also an infrared sauna and spa, which may be available by prior agreement. Please ask before using them so we can ensure everything is safe and convenient for everyone.
  
  I enjoy a friendly, relaxed household where we can occasionally share a meal, conversation or outing, while also respecting each other’s personal space and quiet time.
  
  My hope is that you’ll feel comfortable and at home, with plenty of freedom to explore and enjoy the beautiful Gold Coast during your stay. 🌿😊

  One of the lovely things about staying here is how much you can explore independently, without needing a car!
  
  * Beach: Approximately 20-minute walk
  * Surfers Paradise: Approximately 10-minute bike ride
  * HOTA (Home of the Arts): 10–12-minute walk, with galleries, theatre, markets, cafés and beautiful outdoor spaces
  * Supermarkets: Approximately 12-minute walk to Woolworths, Coles, Aldi and the Post Office
  * Shops and food: Cafés, takeaway food and grocery options directly across the road
  * Public transport: Bus stop less than a minute’s walk away
  
  There’s plenty to discover, from beaches and waterways to markets, cultural events and beautiful parks.
  
  You’re welcome to explore at your own pace, and I’m always happy to suggest interesting places to visit.

  I enjoy a peaceful, relaxed and respectful home environment.
  
  I’m friendly and enjoy getting to know people, but I also genuinely value my privacy, quiet time and personal routines.
  
  During our agreed activity times, I enjoy sharing ideas, working together when appropriate and seeing projects come to life.
  
  Outside those times, everyone is free to enjoy their own independence and downtime. There’s no expectation that we socialise, share meals or spend our evenings together.
  
  I’m particularly well suited to travellers who are independent, self-sufficient and comfortable enjoying their own company.
