  Welcome to our little corner of the Vercors, where family life, animals, nature and everyday projects all come together.
  
  We are a family living in the countryside : mom, kid, dogs, cats, chickens and chicks.
  
  Life here is simple, active and very connected to the seasons — walking the dogs, looking after the animals, working in the garden, cooking, building and improving things around the farm.
  
  During the week, I work during the day and my daughter is at school, so our Workawayer will usually have plenty of independence and time to organise their day. We come together in the evenings and enjoy sharing meals, stories and everyday life.
  
  We are looking for someone who would genuinely enjoy sharing this kind of everyday life with us, rather than simply completing a list of tasks. You don't need to be an expert: curiosity, kindness, common sense are very usefull qualities.
  
  In return, we hope to offer you a real taste of rural French life, time in nature, opportunities to learn and share skills, and the feeling of being part of our family life while still having your own time and space.
  I can also share with you a good sourdough bread recipe, cyanotypes tips and the art of fridayfunnypizzas.
  
  Our home is surrounded by nature, with hiking trails nearby, climbing spots and paragliding take-off sites, so there are plenty of opportunities to explore the Vercors during your free time. Whether you enjoy walking, climbing, flying, cycling or simply being outdoors, there is a lot to discover around us.
  
  We grow our chicken from eggs to running chickens. It's amazing to see a chicken's birth.
  The dogs are nice but you'll have to proof that you are the leader otherwise, the walk can be very long ^^
  
  I enjoy doing my own bread and experience new receipe I would love to teach you how to cook bread or brioche. We eat mostly organic, seasonal and local food.

  We are close to the French Alps and it will be our pleasure to help workers to discover the Vercors skiing or riding.
  I’m really interested in fermentation and love discovering and experimenting with things like sourdough, kefir, kombucha, and other fermented foods and drinks. I find it fascinating to see how simple ingredients can change and develop new flavors through fermentation.

  Ajuda

  The dogs are an important part of our daily life. They need a good walk every day, and if you enjoy running, there may also be opportunities for canicross / running with dogs.
  
  We also have chickens and chicks to look after, as well as cats. Animal care is part of our everyday routine, and we are happy to show you everything you need to know.
  
  
  Depending on the season, there is always something happening outside:
  
  sowing and planting
  looking after the vegetable garden
  greenhouse work
  watering plants
  harvesting
  maintaining outdoor spaces (snow ++)
  helping with seasonal projects
  
  We also have a few larger projects from time to time, such as improving the chicken coop, maintaining fences or doing small DIY jobs.
  
  All year long I also have to manage timber production, to be sure to maintain the house comfy.
  
  A basic day is starting with the breakfast before the chicken's care: to check food and water. In the morning, some cleaning missions (vacuum cleaning mostly) before going for a walk with the dogs. You are free to organise you spare time. At 7pm it's feeding time for the dogs just before diner time for humans! That's how it usually works but as there are sometimes renovation missions, I can ask you something very different too ! Feel free to use the special skills to improve anything !

  Acomodação

  The home is located in St Jean en Royans but we live far from the city's accomadations, in winter you need a car for the everyday's life and in summer if you have a bike and good legs you would appreciate the nice mountain roads. We can host you in a double bedroom. We use water from the rain, so quick showers are appreciate. It's an isolated way of living, workawayer have to know that.

  I can pick you up at Saint Marcellin bus or train station. If you come from far you can take a plane to Lyon, then there is a direct bus from the airport to Grenoble. There is no public transportation to the farm.
