  We are a small Hostel located in Downtown Alajuela. This place is a reality because of my daughter; I wanted to have more time for her because she is a little hero but does not know it. She was so brave and faced up a very serious brain surgeon.
  
  After that, I did my best to become an independent worker to be available for her as frequent as possible. Since that day, all was and still is an adventure. No one said this was going to be easy BUT IS NOT IMPOSSIBLE and with modesty I must say I truly believe my family and I are doing a good job.
  
  Our Vision: "becomes the best place in Alajuela" and our mission give the best possible service because for us, every guest is a V.I.P GUEST, and every guest deserves the best.
  
  With the COVID-19, many things changes. So I started giving cooking classes and now I would like to have the opportunity to share and interchange recipes and cooking stories.

  Volunteering is one of the best experiences for all those who want to get in touch with the local culture: living as local, eating local food, sharing with locals. All this, help the volunteer to understand the COSTA RICAN lifestyle, to understand the real meaning of the popular expression "Pura vida."
  
  Travelling is an opened door, and it helps to the mental enrichment, when travelling as a volunteer the global vision change, it is not more about "taking the perfect photo for the Social Media", but about growing humanly, spiritually, mentally.
  
  Take time to learn, to enjoy the daily life and always smile. Investing time is visiting NON-TURISTIC places and blessing the local, the small business. Every city has many options, many places to be visited and rediscovered. Alajuela City is not the exception. Places like ZOOAVE, MANANTIALES, LOS CHORROS, GRECIA DOWNTOWN, SARCHI, BOSQUES DE FRAIJANES, LAGUNA DE FRAIJANES, POAS VOLCANO, JUAN SANTAMARIA MUSEUM, THE CENTRAL MARKET OF ALAJUELA, ERMITA DEL LLANO, CATHEDRAL CHURCH, LA PAZ WATERFALL, DOKA CAFFEE TOUR, TOLEDO ORGANIC CAFFEE PLANTATION, EL TRAPICHE, and other can be visited in one day.
  
  But if the volunteer wants to discover the popular destination outside the city, most of them are only 3 hours away.

  Ajuda

  We are looking for people who volunteer in exchange for ACCOMMODATION.
  
  This is unpaid work.
  In our hostel, the position of a volunteer plays a very important role. You would be socialising indirectly or directly with guests, so it is very important enjoying to meet people. We are looking for a person with mature enough for a cultural exchange and who is not afraid to support the different daily tasks as cleaning, helping , attending guests, or simply talk.
  
  We are looking for honest, polite, happy, friendly volunteers, someone who understands the importance of respecting others to be respected.
  
  Your work duties would be the following:
  
  - Helping out with keeping things in order - this means we need you to help us to keep everything clean, throwing away the garbage, collecting empty bottles, keeping the guest kitchen clean, collecting dirty sheets and putting new ones into clean rooms, etc. We have a list of specific duties and timetables when certain things should be done which you would be introduced to once you arrive.
  
  Learning time is part of the Volunteering programme.

  Acomodação

  Volunteers will be helping 5 days per week and 5 hours per day. The Hostel will provide you free accommodation and breakfast, for other meals, volunteers have kitchen facilities.

  1- We are not a party Hostel.
  2- Alcohol drinking, smoking or drugs are not permissible for the volunteers when staying here.
  3- Volunteers will frequently be evaluated to determine if he/she will continue with the programme.
  4- Any expression of Racism will allow us to finish the volunteering. The volunteer who attends against the moral, social and inside rules will have to leave the place immediately.
  5- Our place is small, but cleaning here is performed in the most professional way. It is not superficial. For us, Guests are our priority, and as part of the respect to them every task must be done as perfect as possible
  6-MINIMUM STAY: 1 WEEKS
