We stayed with Amy, Mike and Jai for four weeks and had a wonderfull time there. They are very warm, social and welcoming people and made us feel at home from the very first minute we arrived in their beautiful piece of green paradise. Such a peaceful and quiet place.
Amy and Mike offered us their cabin which was equipped with a cooking stove
… read more including all kitchen utensils, a chilly bin and drinkable water. In addition, there was an outdoor shower and long drop toilet. In short, we had everything we could wish for. At night we could sometimes even hear Kiwi birds, which is definitely another plus to add to the list!
The work asked, was very reasonable. During our stay we removed weeds from the vegetable garden, the stairs leading to their property and some other paths in the garden. We also transported a bunch of wooden logs from their parking lot up to their property. As we combined our stay with another paid job, it was nice to have such flexible hosts and be able to choose our own hours. Amy and Mike also took the time to express their gratitude for the work we did, even for the smallest of jobs. If there was something we needed, they always made it a priority to take care of it.
Due to different circumstances, we weren't able to spend that much time together, but we're really grateful that we had the chance to meet this beautiful family. We also got to hang out with Jai, who is such an amazing and creative little soul.

What a family! What a location! We had an amazing 10 days with Mike, Amy, and Jai. They welcomed us into their home like we were family and included us on various outings to get a real taste of Kiwi life. I stay into this beautiful paradise for a week and I love it so much !
Amy, Mike and Jai welcome me on a really nice way into this gem place. I really like to be able to chill into this forest, feeling far away from all the crowded famous places in Coromandel (school holidays ..).

I spent 3 weeks in Amy and Mike's lovely cabin and I just had a wonderful time. They were both really helpful, every time I wanted to try something (pottery for example) they would always try do provide me with everything I needed. Plus, even if I didn't have a car, it was still quite easy to go around cause they would offer me a ride each time
… read more when they would go to town (wich was quite often). I would definitely recommand their place to anyone who'd like to spend some time in an amazing off grid set up and still be able to enjoy a lot of the Coromandel.
In a nutshell, I felt very welcomed, supported and had some really nice chat with both of them on a lot of different subjects. I'm hopping to come back in spring.

Dorian stayed with us for nearly 3 weeks and Rosalie for the last few days. They are a lovely couple and we were really happy having them to stay. While I was exploring the beautiful coromandel area , I could stay 2 nights at the little hobbit house. I was so fortunate. Amy and Mike are 2 openminded and friendly people. In exchange for some work I could sleep in a great location. Very good and quick responses by Amy! Thank you Mike and Amy and good luck with your project.

We spent a little bit more than two weeks in Amy and Mike place and that was really unique. If you love wild life and nature it's the place where to go.
