Where do we even begin? This was truly a life changing experience. We arrived a bit nervous as this was our first Workaway but as soon as we met Loz and her family all our nerves were dashed aside.
We learned so many new practical skills as well as made a true connection to country and its people. This place is a magical place surrounded by

This experience has prepared us not only for future Workaway adventures but also taught us so many things we will use in our own daily lives.
We will miss playing Geoguessr with Jasper, surf lessons with Amber and daily walks with the adorable Luna. We wish Loz and her family all the love and success in the world and we truly hope to be back with our own family one day soon. Thank you for everything ♥️

It is a beautiful place. We learned loads helping with different projects and enjoyed our free time doing nature walks, surfing, kayaking and playing games. They lend us a car whenever we needed to move around and surf boards. I saw some of the best landscapes in Australia in this paradise settle between nationals parks.
The whole experience was nurtured with very deep and interesting conversations. I thank specially to Sam and Loz for sharing their knowledge and experiences with us and to Amber for teaching me how to surf. My stay here will always be the highlight of my trip throughout Australia. I stayed for around a month and no day was a bad one, the work was varied the activities where plentiful and the atmosphere was phenomenal. The only negative of was that I didn’t end up staying longer.

What can we say about our first workaway experience...it was absolutely fantastic! We would recommend this to everyone :) Sam, Loz, Amber, Jasper welcomed us into their family with such warmth and kindness. Even little Luna stole our hearts!
The hours were always flexible and the work was always varied. We did a mix of gardening, weeding, spring
… read more cleaning, cooking and even a bit of IT/marketing work for them too. The location is absolutely stunning, surrounded by so much wildlife (lots of roos) and a beautiful lagoon we even had the pleasure of going prawning in! We also had the opportunity to go to the snowy mountains with Sam, Amber and Jasper and were able to tick off climbing mount kosciuszko...just an amazing experience we're so grateful for :)
The meals were delicious and catered for all dietary requirements...our favourite was the pizza party! Sam, Loz and their family were so friendly, we had so many laughs and played loads of games...racing patience will be a new favourite of ours. I was suppose to stay for 3 weeks but because of the COVID I stayed 5 month. It’s the first time I will say that but … thank you COVID ahahah

Amber & Jasper are such amazing and talented kids, I had so much fun playing Kems, king and slaves, pictionary, ping-pong and many others games with them. Amber is a remarkable drawer (you should be in her team for pictonary ahaha) and Jasper is an incredible fisherman (you should definitely go with him for some fishing trip).
I feel really grateful for all the fabulous time I had with you and for all the lovely people I met.
If you are looking for a true Aussie experience with lovely people in a paradisiac place, it’s definitely the place to be !

What an incredible experience I had staying with Loz, Sam, Amber, and Jasper. We had initially planned for me to stay about 2 weeks so Loz was able to go on a bush walk. I ended up staying for 2 months! Being a part of this family and experiencing sustainable living was incredible. They truly scooped me up and made me a part of the family from day
… read more one. They always included me- surfing lessons, day trips to coastal towns/beaches, friends’ houses, pizza parties, camping adventures, the kids’ activities, and so much more. They are located in such a beautiful area surrounded by nature with a lot to do right in their backyard.
The work varied and was always reasonable. Watering the garden, feeding the rescues, helping other workaways with setting up the chicken coop, cooking, cleaning, laundry, organizing, fixing, building, playing with the kids, etc. Feeding their kangaroo, Phoenix and helping care for him was such a precious opportunity. His cuddles are unmatched. Accommodation was great. I moved from the bell tent to inside the house to the dairy. I also was privileged to stay in the Luxury Safari Tents a few times.
Loz is a remarkable woman with a wealth of knowledge in all aspects of life. She’s an amazing mother and business woman with great ethics, morals, and values that she instills in her children daily. I was lucky enough to have many meaningful and real conversations with her. Loz is open-minded, accommodating, and patient. Her can-do attitude is admirable. I couldn’t praise this goddess of a human enough. She is making a true and measurable impact in this world and in so many people’s lives. I can’t wait to share more conversations and cold brews in the future. :)
Sam was working most of the time. When we did get to chat, it was great! He is also a wealth of knowledge and has some amazing stories about adventures. Ask about his fight with a kangaroo and Goanna stories (terrifying… haha). He has so much experience in adventure and outdoors.
Amber and Jasper are humble and kind-hearted children. They’re talented and adventurous. We had movie nights, played board games, and shared so many laughs. I was able to watch both of their graduations as well as Amber’s fling performance! They were so easy to get along with and enjoyable to be around.
Staying here was extremely therapeutic and exactly what my soul needed. My life is better after my stay here. Thank you for allowing me to learn so much and have an Australian experience that I’ll treasure forever. I miss you all.

First and foremost, Veronica and I would really like to thank Loz and her family for having us for a 6 days stay. They live in a wonderful area in the national park. When we arrived, it felt like we had reached a fairy-tale world. The place is surrounded by trees and it is very very comfortable. Waking up in the morning, hearing birds chirping, seeing kangaroos jumping around feels very special for us as we are used to the lives in cities. Not to forget that during the night, the sky is filled with stars, when you look up, it is like you are looking at the galaxy.
It was a long journey from Sydney to Bega, it took us 9 hours to reach but it wasn't a boring ride as the bus will stop for break twice during the whole journey. Loz picked us up and headed to a beach in Tathra for dinner before going to her house in Tanja. She showed us around when we arrived at her house, Veronica and I were more than surprise to see her farm with varies types of plants. We even have the chance to feed two baby kangaroos! What an experience!
Feeding the baby kangaroos is part of our daily duty. Other than that, we help to collect eggs, pick cherry tomatoes, harvest zucchinis, egg plants and lemons. Something unexpected happened during our trip which was the bushfire. The fire started 17km away and most of the residents in Tanja were warned to leave. Loz led us together with Amber, Jasper to the nearest town and registered ourselves to notify our safety. We then headed to Loz uncle's house in Cuttagee, we stayed there for a night and then went back to Loz's place the next day as the situation got better.
During the 6 days, Veronica and I met many new people, learned many new things and of course gained many new experiences. For example: coating the canvas camp; cleaning the luxury safari tent after the guests checked out; teaching Amber and Jasper Chinese; feeding baby kangaroos and many many more! It was indeed a very memorable journey for both Veronica and I. Being away from the big city, away from traffic, away from light and noise pollution, Loz's place is a very good location to relax and chill, everything there is simple yet so beautiful and enjoyable.
We are back in Malaysia for a few weeks. Veronica went back to school and I continue my work. We really miss Loz, Amber and Jasper (it's still sad we did not get to see Sam, maybe next time hahaha xD) we miss the everything in Tanja, the weather, the environment, the people and the food (zucchini soup with basil, bruchetta made by Suzy ~) We hope to visit again for a longer time and once again, thank you very much for having us, thank you for all the fun :D

… read more talents and what kind of help was needed at the moment. I supported them with cooking and cleaning jobs, easy gardening work, gave them some tips for their business instagram appearance, played with the children (which haven´t felt like work at all) and so on ... it never got boring.
I really enjoyed beeing surrounded by the beatiful nature on their property, watching kangaroos hopping around, the most beautiful sunrises at the beach, swimming and practicing surf skills in the dam with Amber and Jasper, learning surfing at Camel Rock, canoeing on the lagoon and watching the nightsky sitting around the campfire and eating damper.
They always let me be a part of their adventures, introduced me to their interesting friends and rewarded my help with such generosity. The last two months were like therapy for me. I feel so energized and inspired by all these beautiful souls and this magical place. I am deeply grateful for this experience and everything I learned.

… read more doing the cleaning and organizing the tents which we enjoyed a lot. The food was beautiful. We would get fresh eggs, basil, tomatos from the garden. We had a lot of fun having spaghetti/pizza during dinner and then playing chess with the kids. Jasper and Amber are kind, clever kids. We loved playing around in the house, going to the lake or beach and getting to know about Australia from them. Kangaroos are all over the property which is fascinating. We learned so much from them about sustainability, community life, sharing, caring and love! Loz is an amazing mother, so dedicated to teach the best values to her children. She is a beautiful human being! Sam is fun, kind and knows everything about the outdoor life in Australia. I could keep talking for ages about all the good moments we had and how generous they were to us. The true is that we miss them a lot! … read more lot, since we had a great time travelling around in NSW and Victoria. Doing workaway was for us not a cost saving exercise, but a chance to learn and experience the country and its people in a way that is not possible if you’re doing the regular sightseeing tour. Staying in The Camp with Sam and Loz, Amber and Jasper more than lived up to our expectations. This was the greatest experience. We felt very welcome and loved the atmosphere and the beautiful surroundings at The camp. We did a variety of jobs, detailed cleaning of the safari tents, cooking dinner, feeding baby kangaroos (no job in the world can compete with that :blush: ) attending the native trees, fixing the washing machine and weeding the garden. Our children helped with some of the jobs and loved playing with Amber and Jasper in the afternoons and weekends. There was plenty of time to go to the beach or exploring some of the beautiful walking tracks in the area. We loved staying in the Yurt, it was comfortable and lovely to wake up in the morning with the view of the lake and the kangaroos. We can only give the very best recommendation to this family. We spent the most amazing Aussie Christmas with them filled with Christmas Pudding (Dusty's hair appears less scorched now, ha!), laughter, and community with family and other fabulous Workawayers. We loved learning about the worm farm system, how to run a small business, and all the wonders of the Australian bush. They have the most amazing lagoon and surf spot just mere minutes from the property. We loved this peaceful paradise and truly getting to know the wonderful people that call it home. We miss you SO MUCH already. Please send our love to the kids, the quails, chooks, Pepper, and David & Libby.

This was my first Workaway experience and I could not have asked for a better host family! Loz and her family are such welcoming and beautiful people and I am so happy to know them. … read more tasks are very easy to get the hang of. The safari tent business is really a wonderful thing and they have done such a great job with it.
You'll definitely feel as if you're part of the family, Loz is very accommodating and kind. They have lots of experience hosting volunteers so it all felt pretty organized but free. Loz and the family are so knowledgable about everything around and happy to answer questions or make suggestions.
The accommodation is lovely, the yurt is gorgeous and the property is stunning. There is so much wildlife all around and so many great nature related activities. It is truly a peaceful place. The food never disappoints and you can bring your home recipes, too. The family also has a lot of amazing friends & are active in the community and will include you in their events if you wish to go.
