I stayed with Lorraine for about 3 weeks in March, and had an overall good time! Lorraine is a very interesting character, and the work was fairly easy :) We saw wild kangaroos, rode horses and helped sheer the sheep, which is something i’ll never forget<3
But I think it’s important to be honest and say that I did have some issues with the way

Perhaps she has just had too many workers through the years, and has lost the will to get to know them - I don’t know. But this was a bit of an issue for me. However, I believe Lorraine has good intentions, as she did take us workers for a swim and gave riding lessons, which was great!
I would not recommend this place for people who are uncomfortable with mice and mess.
But all in all a pretty good experience, but the communication and cleanliness of the place could be better :)Só é possível entrar em contato com Workawayers com assinaturas ativas.

I stayed at Lorraine’s farm for about 4 weeks and definitely had an interesting experience. She has some really nice horses, amazing dogs and a lot of stories and knowledge to share. Nice place to stay some weeks.
I am not a rider, but I think that a rider will find his happiness here !
Lorraine is very nice and is a former very active woman with A LOT of knowledge about horses, farming and doing almost all needed to be self sufficient in rural Australia.
If I come back in South Australia, I will return here immediately !

We were able to spend a week with Lorraine (and her animals) in April, and we only wish we could have stayed for longer. Lorraine will introduce you to what life is like on a semi remote South Australian station and everything that comes with it. Daily jobs include feeding the horses, cats and dog, and outside of that can be widely varied-
… read more gardening, helping to clear grain, clearing the stables, rescuing a shingleback lizard. All the work we did was at our own pace and we never felt pushed or uncomfortable. Lorraine will not only take care of you: She will share her passion for the land and animals, stories of the area and it's people, and share her artistic endeavours with you too (make sure you ask to see her home made Western movie). We were also able to ride Lorraines horses- whether you are experienced or not, Lorraine is an excellent teacher and Scarlett is an amazing horse to learn and to ride with. Be aware that there aren't all the comforts you'll get in a city, such as wifi and daily showers, but that is absolutely part of the experience and it's charm. Neither of us have experienced such a peaceful, quiet night as we have here. Also, if you have any dietry requirements Lorraine was very open and understanding towards this which we appreciated. We look forward to remaining good friends with Lorraine, her daughter Kerry (and Harry!) and can't wait til the next time we can see them.
All the best!

It was just amazing! In the beginning i was quite shocked 'cause you are only allowed to shower twice a week and you have to safe as much water as you can. I wasn't familiar with such a situation. I didn't feel really comfy but that changes completely after a couple of days. Lorraine is just the most lovely host i have ever had. I have learnd so

She gave me riding lessons in Western and Sidesaddle aswell and it was just awesome. The work wasn't hard at all I had a lot of freetime. I was allowed to drove the car even if i have never driven left traffic before. When I stay there the sheep were ready to shear and i could drove them into the sheds with the jeep which was so amazing! I have learned so much for my further live and i would highly recommend Lorraines farm! In may I spent about 6 weeks on Lorraine's farm. I really enjoyed staying there and learning to take care of the horses as I had no previous experience. Lorraine was very welcoming and even took the time to teach me how to ride which I was very gratefull for. The work mostly involved taking care of the horses and some other tasks that needed to be

I've been to Lorraine for a week in October and I've had a wonderful time here. Lorraine was incredibly hospitable. The work wasn't heavy and it was clear what was expected of us. We had the opportunity to ride every day. Lorraine has shown us a lot of the environment and taken us to local activities and people she knows. I appreciated that very

I've nice memories of my stay at Lorraine and on my wall there is a beautiful painting with the river that was made by Lorraine. That way I could take a small piece home with me. We (me and my friend Giulia) spent two and a half weeks with Kerry and Lorraine and 2 other germans and we absolutely enjoyed it. Kerry got married during our stay (Congratulations again!) and was really busy, so we spent most of the time with Lorraine. She gave us riding lessons and we were able to ride a lot, what was great! It was so special to

The work wasn‘t hard at all, we just had to feed the animals, to muck out and sometimes we helped with fencing. We had much free time every day, that we spent with watching Heartland, taking the dog for a long walk or driving into the city.
We slept in a caravan, what was nice, even if it got really cold during the night and really hot during the day.
It was a great time, Lorraine showed and explained us so much and I‘m so thankful for this experience.

I really enjoyed my stay. Lorraine and Kerry are very warm and welcoming. The horses are lovely (especially Kodie :)) and it was great for me to be on a horse again after several years. Unfornatunately I just stayed a week, as I made further plans in advance. Otherwise I would have liked to stay longer. The scenery is beautiful and very different

Johanna stayed with us for several weeks; she was pleasant, reliable, honest and hardworking. I really had an amazing time here! Kerry and Lorraine are very welcoming and kind people, I felt like part of a little family right away. We spent more than 2 weeks with Loraine and Kerry. Their farm is so beautiful and large. We really enjoyed our stay and are happy that we could meet the lovely Boongala girls. We even had our own little cottage, which was so cool. The horses were great and we loved to work with them. We had to help feeding all the animals (cats, dogs, horses),

Loraine and Kerry showed us their farm and a few of the towns in the area. It was always great fun to watch a series with them or to play cards. We could even go to town on our own thanks to Loraine’s old car. Over those two weeks we gained new friends and had a wonderful time. We really miss waking up in such a beautiful country and being surrounded by such nice people, lovely animals and this wonderful landscape.Só é possível entrar em contato com Workawayers com assinaturas ativas.
