Descrição
Hello there, I am Ayrton.
I run an organic family farm located in the Silva Jardim countryside of Rio de Janeiro.
We have a few projects going on:
- The first and oldest one is the Aprendiz de Fazendeiro (Farmer apprentice), which bring kids from the cities to see what is a farm, how it works, and what they do;
- We also have a Walking organization that takes people to do beautiful hikes in the countryside of Rio (and of course, you are welcome to jump in if you like;
- A few years ago we started to grow orchids and plant trees to reforest our amazing Atlantic Forest;
- Last but not least is the B&B which is the one we need more help with at the moment. We are looking for volunteers to help us with our guests and general maintenance;
Your tasks would be varied depending on the day but will be mainly outside with nice weather from Rio.
Please have in mind that 15 days is the very minimum amount of time, we really prefer people to stay with us for longer periods of time so we have time to teach you everything you need to know and to experience our farm and surroundings to their full extent.Tipos de ajuda e oportunidades de aprendizado

Ajuda
Your main duties would be taking care of our guests, checking if they have everything they need, showing the farm around, and engaging in activities with them.
When we don't have guests there are other projects happening you can get involved in. The biggest ones are the riparian forest plantation and the orchid growing facility. We also have some animals that eventually we might ask to help with feeding.
However, if you have any particular skill, that you are proud of and believe it can be useful for us we will be happy to hear about it.Idiomas

I was volunteering in the Fazenda for more than a month and it was an amazing experience. Ayrton and Ana are strong members of the local community and they really help to develop a sustainability project in the region of Silva Jardim. I learned so many things helping Ayrton in the garden, in the kitchen everywhere. They have so many… read more
