Thank you to the Mitchell family for their warm welcome. They immediately made me feel part of the family and were happy to share their daily life with me. The tasks were simple and there was plenty of free time to explore the area and also enjoy time with the family. Katherine and Paul taught me a lot and were always available and supportive.

We loved having Nina to stay, her calm relaxed demeanor was very welcome in our home. Nina got on really well with our children and was happy to help with all of the tasks we set for her. She was interested in learning new skills, and sharing a lot about her culture from home.
We could not recommend Nina more highly.

Thanks Andy for coming to spend time with our family, it was lovely to get to know you.
Andy stayed for approximately 3 weeks, he helped out in the garden, with the kids and on the farm with some projects. Andy was respectful, clean and tidy and best of all cooked delicious meals for the family.

I had an excellent few weeks staying with Katherine, Paul, and the kids in Te Anau. It’s a truly beautiful area and I felt really lucky to have the chance to explore it while I was there.
From the start I was welcomed warmly and made to feel like one of the family. There was plenty of spare time to enjoy the surroundings, and the work was varied
… read more and interesting – a real mix of things from looking after and picking up the kids (who are very funny, and entertaining!), to helping out on the farm, some basic outdoor building work, gardening, cooking dinners, and lending a hand with various kitchen tasks.
One of the highlights for me was getting to cook with home-grown produce. Making sauerkraut was a particularly enjoyable experience for me and I really enjoyed chatting with Katherine about cooking – she’s got such a wealth of knowledge and experience to share as well as plenty of interesting cookbooks to read.
Work on the farm was also interesting – herding cows and sheep, feeding the chickens, picking up hay to feed the cows, all sorts!
I had my own space and privacy in the backyard caravan which was lovely, and all meals were provided.
Would definitely recommend the experience – I’ll really cherish the memories I made there.

We had a wonderful time hosting Max, we cannot recommend him highly enough. Max worked really well independantly on outdoor work such as weed eating and mulching. He even planned and completed a building project for us, making a set of storage shelves in our farm shed.
Max got on very well with our kids and was happy to step in and pick them up
… read more from school etc. We enjoyed sitting round the table and learning about the Netherlands, Max cooked us a lovely meal of Nasi Goreng.

What a great time I had with this amazing family. Te Anua is such a beautiful place to stay. I got my own caravan with a nice comfortable bed. usually Katherine or Mitchell took me to their farm were I worked in the greenhouse or the garden. Sometimes we moved the cattle together wich was a fun job. In their shed on the farm I made a nice big
… read more shelve for storage. They were very flexible with taking time off. For example when i could get a spontaneous spot on the Kepler track that wasn't an issue at all. They even lend me some gear and dropped me off at the start. (if you like hiking I really recommend the Kepler track its great). We always had dinner together and Katherine and Mitchell are great chefs. I had to pick up the kids a few times from school and other activities. Rita and Austy are really friendly and also very funny kids. it was very nice how the whole family included me in their activities and lives. I learned a few new things from Mitchell and Katherine they have a lot knowledge about a lot of different things especially outdoor related. I am beyond lucky and grateful that I got to stay at Katherine's place for a week.
She took me in when I had nowhere to go and no idea what to do, after I got into an accident with my beloved van that had been my home on wheels until that point.

I loved getting to help out around the house and spend time with the kids, you will love them.

Hosting Shandra and Teo was like having family (the good type) to stay. They were easy to host and everyone was immediately comfortable when they arrived. The are both hard workers, very capable, great with the kids and in the garden and very trustworthy. We have made lifelong friends and cannot recomend Shandra and Teo highly enough.
