I had a brilliant time in Nelson staying with Catherine, Leo, Kiara and Tiago. They are such a friendly, hospitable, easy going family and I felt very at home staying with them. Catherine and Leo have great stories from their many past travels and I also enjoyed hearing Catherine's many stories from her journalism job. I stayed for two weeks and
… read more my main task was to strip down some window frames on the roof and repaint them, and I also did some general housework. They were kind enough to let me use a bike which was handy to get into the town centre quickly. We stayed with Catherines family for a little bit more than a week and really enjoyed it. The family is super friendly and they cooked amazing meals for us:) The work was light and really flexible which was great to explore the beautiful area they are living in. Catherine even brought us to some hiking spots, so that we could enjoy them. We really
… read more enjoyed spending time with everyone of them and would return every time. They were great hosts and really made sure, that Lena and I were comfortable, as well as telling us a lot of information about New Zealand.
