    Descrição

    Hello there!
We live in Tbilisi, about 40 minutes from the city center by bus. The house is in a quiet district on the outskirts of the city, just 5–10 minutes’ walk from bus stops and grocery shops.

We have a cabin with some small building projects going on, such as making a fence, and another small house in progress next to it. So there is always something to do, both indoors and outdoors.

I’m looking for volunteers who enjoy nature and like being around animals. We share our place with three friendly dogs and one affectionate senior cat.

We’re an open-minded family and love meeting people from other cultures. We’ve lived abroad before, so it feels natural for us to welcome guests from all over the world.

You can spend time in our beautiful city and visit attractions or remain in nature and tranquility.

It is very fun to grill some sausages over the fire after work or have some Georgian barbecue which everyone loves.

The area is located on a small hill and has a great view of the city, it is great for those who like city views from above.
It is very nice here for someone who likes to experience camp life semi off-grid for a week or two.

You can learn a little bit of Georgian from us, for fun :)

  • Ajuda

    Ajuda

The main focus is house building and landscaping. Tasks can include:
Light construction help (assisting, preparing tools, carrying smaller items)
    Landscaping and gardening
Occasional practical tasks around the site

We keep the atmosphere casual and flexible. Each day you can choose what you’d prefer to do: building or landscaping. If you want variety, you can switch tasks from day to day. If there are two WorkAwayers at the same time, you can also team up or divide tasks between you.
Hours are usually around 4–5 per day, but you can:

Take a full day off and work extra another day

Adjust if the weather is bad or if the work is heavier than usual

Count the time you spend cooking your own meals as part of your work hours (so if you spend 1 hour cooking + 3–4 hours working, that’s fine).

I will provide a two-person camping tent (with rain protection), and inside the tent there will be a sleeping bag and bedding for each volunteer.

You can bring your own sleeping bag if you prefer,
and your own tent or a camper van is possible as well.

You can set up the tent in several places:
    - In the yard area right next to the building in progress.

    - On the small hill beside the house (about 10–15m above the roof) for a nice view.

    - Or, for extra shelter from wind and rain, you can place your tent inside the unfinished block building, which currently has walls and a roof but no windows or doors yet.

    - The area is supplied with water, and there is a small outhouse (camping style toilet) on site. You can charge your phone, laptop, or power bank, and you can use the water boiler for tea or coffee.
    - There is a portable campfire with fuel, ready to use for cooking or warming food.
Wi-Fi is available at the cabin with unlimited local internet.
There is also a washing machine available.

    - For showers, since we don’t yet have one on site, I will cover the cost of a bed in a dormitory hostel, so you can go there, shower, and rest if you like. We can agree together on how often this works best, depending on weather, preference, and schedule.

    Cooking & food:
    - Volunteers cook their own meals on the campfire (it has fuel and easy to use).

    - I can buy groceries according to your preferences, for example: rice, pasta, potatoes, vegetables, and meat such as chicken or sausages, and such things as cookies or a bar of chocolate for tea or coffee.
    - We can discuss your preferred diet in advance, and we can make a list of groceries together.
    - Cooking your own meals is counted as part of your daily work hours.

    Work hours and pocket money:

    - If you prefer to organize your own food instead, I can offer pocket money of some amount in GEL per hour (depending on the type of work and agreement). So that you would be able to buy food for yourself and pay for bus tickets when going to the city or eating out etc.

  • Algo mais...

    Algo mais...

We always try to match tasks with your skills and interests. If you prefer landscaping, you can focus more on that. If you’d like to do some building, that’s also possible. You can mix tasks so it stays interesting.

The overall vibe here is relaxed, flexible, and friendly. We don’t stress, we take things easy, and we enjoy working side by side with volunteers.

The fact that you are willing to volunteer is already a sign of how great of a person you are.

I myself have done work-away and EVS volunteering programs in several places and I appreciate people who do similar things.
