  Hello Workawayer,
  
  I am Chris, in my early 30s, from the Netherlands, and I recently moved with my dog Mango to a piece of land in the countryside of Beniarbeig, on the Costa Blanca. It is a wonderful place surrounded by nature, nice and quiet, with lots of fruit trees and beautiful views. I live here in my camper van, which I have been travelling around in for years.
  
  The terrain is a kind of green oasis full of plants and fruit trees. I am gradually building a simple and natural life here. There is always something to do. Pruning, gardening, building things or just tidying up. Or carrying out a crazy idea together, that's also possible. I have lots of ideas, but they require time and extra help.
  
  I like a relaxed atmosphere, nothing too strict. I like it when people show a little initiative and are okay with getting their hands dirty. Working outside is always nice here (okay, except maybe when it's 38 degrees 😅). Then we chill in the shade and the pool.

  Ik ben Chris, begin 30, uit Nederland, en ik woon sinds kort met m’n hond Mango op een stuk land in de campo van Beniarbeig, aan de Costa Blanca. Superfijne plek in de natuur, lekker rustig, met veel fruit bomen en mooie uitzichten. Ik woon hier in m’n camper waar ik jaren mee heb rondgereisd.
  
  Het terrein is een soort groene oase vol planten en bomen die fruit geven. Ik ben hier beetje bij beetje een simpel en natuurlijk leventje aan het opbouwen. Er is constant vanalles te doen. Snoeien, tuinieren, dingen bouwen of gewoon opruimen. Of samen een gek idee uitvoeren, dat kan ook. Ik heb veel ideeën maar daarvoor is tijd en extra hulp nodig.
  
  Ik hou van een relaxte sfeer, niks moet te strak. Vind het leuk als mensen een beetje initiatief tonen en oké zijn om hun handen vies te maken. Buiten werken is hier eigenlijk altijd wel lekker (oké, behalve misschien als het 38 graden is 😅). Dan chillen we in de schaduw en het zwembad.

  Life here is nice and simple and pure. Being outside, pottering around in the garden, living with the rhythm of the day. Among the orange and olive trees, you naturally learn to slow down a little.
  
  I enjoy sharing stories and ideas. We can go for walks together, visit a market, or just chat about sustainability, self-sufficient living, unusual plans, or tasty recipes. But it's also nice to have some time to yourself, which is something I appreciate myself.
  
  I hope that every Workawayer brings something new with them, which only makes it more fun here. I'd love to learn from you, and maybe you can learn from me too. Not everything will be perfect, but that's okay, right?

  Het leven hier is lekker simpel en puur. Buiten zijn, beetje rommelen in de tuin, leven met het ritme van de dag. Tussen de sinaasappel en olijfbomen leer je vanzelf een beetje onthaasten.
  
  Ik vind het leuk om verhalen en ideeën te delen. We kunnen samen wandelen, naar een marktje, of gewoon wat kletsen over duurzaamheid, zelfvoorzienend leven, rare plannen of lekkere recepten. Maar het is ook fijn als je op jezelf kunt zijn, dat waardeer ikzelf ook.
  
  Ik hoop dat iedere Workawayer weer iets nieuws mee brengt en dat maakt het alleen maar leuker hier. Ik leer graag van jou, en jij misschien ook van mij. Gaat niet allemaal perfect, maar dat hoeft ook niet toch!?

  What there is to do
  
  Well, quite a lot, actually. I just moved here, so everything is still a bit of a work in progress. The garden is overgrown and the fruit trees need some TLC. You are welcome to come and help if you enjoy working outdoors. Things you can do include:
  
  Pruning trees, clearing branches, watering plants, pulling weeds.
  
  Small tasks or DIY, such as sanding & painting, some wooden projects, and I would like to build an outdoor kitchen.
  
  Creative things? If you can do something cool with wood, art, or permaculture, throw it in!
  
  And just helping to keep the grounds liveable and a bit cosy.
  
  Being able to work independently is nice, but there are also plenty of chores we do together.
  Experience is great, but not necessary. As long as you're willing to contribute a little.
  
  I still have a lot to learn about gardening and such myself. So if you know something, please share!

  Wat er zoal te doen is
  
  Nou, genoeg eigenlijk. Ik woon hier net, dus alles is nog een beetje in opbouw. De tuin is achterstallig en de fruitbomen hebben liefde nodig. Je bent welkom als je het leuk vind om mee te helpen en gewoon lekker bezig te zijn in de buitenlucht. Dingen waar je aan kunt denken:
  
  Bomen snoeien, takken wegdoen, planten water geven, onkruid eruit trekken
  
  Kleine klussen of bouwwerkjes zoals beetje schuren & verven, timmeren en ik zou graag nog een buitenkeuken maken.
  
  Creatieve dingen? Als je iets tofs kunt met hout, kunst, of permacultuur, gooi het erin!
  
  En gewoon helpen om het terrein leefbaar en een beetje gezellig te houden
  
  Zelfstandig kunnen werken is fijn, maar er zijn ook genoeg klusjes die we samen doen.
  Ervaring is top, maar hoeft niet. Als je maar een beetje zin hebt om iets bij te dragen.
  
  Ik moet zelf ook nog veel leren over tuinieren en zo. Dus als jij iets weet, deel vooral!

  My Spanish isn't great yet. I'm getting by, but it's not perfect yet. Dutch is my main language, and I speak English quite well. So communication will be fine, and hopefully, we'll learn from each other. -- Mijn Spaans is nog niet zo goed. Ik red me, maar het is nog niet top. Nederlands is mijn voertaal, Engels spreek ik ook prima. Dus communicatie komt wel goed, en hopelijk leren we nog van elkaar.

  Acomodação

  You will sleep in a retro caravan on the grounds, old-fashioned but cosy. It is completely off-grid, so it has its own power supply via solar panels. There is a small kitchenette and a refrigerator. You will share the shower and toilet with me and possibly other guests; these are located in a central area on the grounds.
  
  You are also welcome to bring your own tent, caravan or camper van. Just find a nice spot here.
  
  As for food: I'm no master chef 😅, and I understand that everyone has their own preferences when it comes to food. We can cook together or separately, whichever you prefer. I usually do the shopping and then we'll see how it goes.

  Je slaapt in een retro caravan op het terrein, ouderwets maar wel knus. deze is volledig off-grid, dus een eigen stroomvoorziening door zonnepanelen. Er zit een klein keukentje in en een koelkast. De douche en wc deel je met mij en evt. andere gasten, die staan op een centrale plek op het terrein.
  
  Je mag ook met je eigen tent, caravan of camper komen. Zoek dan gewoon een leuk plekje uit hier.
  
  Wat eten betreft: ik ben geen keukenprins 😅, en ik snap ook dat iedereen z’n eigen ding heeft qua eten. We kunnen samen koken of ieder voor zich, wat jij wilt. Ik doe meestal de boodschappen en dan zien we wel hoe het loopt.

  Free time = chill time
  
  There is plenty to do here when you are free. Read a book in the hammock, relax, or walk to the village for a coffee. The village has a few restaurants and a small weekly market.
  
  There are mountains for hiking and water sources nearby, and you can easily reach the beach in 15 minutes by car.
  
  There is a bicycle and a small moped available if you want to go out.
  
  If you arrive by plane, I can pick you up from Alicante or Valencia.
  
  I'm not one for rules, but a few simple things:
  
  Just be nice to each other and the place
  
  Leave your mess behind as you found it
  
  Respect a little peace and quiet, especially in the morning and evening
  
  I'm not one for rules, but I do like it when the atmosphere stays relaxed for everyone.

  Vrije tijd = chilltijd
  
  Er is hier genoeg te doen als je vrij bent. Boekje lezen in de hangmat, beetje niksen, of naar het dorp lopen voor een koffie. Het dorp heeft wat restaurantjes en een klein week marktje.
  
  In de buurt zijn bergen om te wandelen, waterbronnen, en je kunt makkelijk naar het strand op 15 min. Met de auto.
  
  Er is een fiets en een klein brommertje beschikbaar als je eropuit wilt.
  
  Als je aankomt met het vliegtuig, kan ik je ophalen van Alicante of Valencia.
  
  Ik ben niet zo van de regeltjes maar een en paar simpele dingen:
  
  Wees gewoon een beetje lief voor elkaar en de plek
  
  Laat je rommel achter zoals je het vond
  
  Respecteer een beetje rust en stilte, zeker ‘s ochtends en ‘s avonds
  
  Ik ben niet van de regeltjes, maar ik vind het wel fijn als de sfeer relaxed blijft voor iedereen.

  There's good cell phone coverage here, but I don't have Wi-Fi to share. If you need it for work, you'll have to arrange it yourself. -- Er is goed mobiel bereik hier, maar ik heb geen wifi om te delen. Mocht je dit nodig hebben voor werk, zou je dit zelf moeten regelen.

  Campervans, caravans, and tents are welcome. There's room for campervans, as long as they're not too large (max. 3.5 tons and 7.5 meters). -- Camper, caravan, tent kan mee. Er is plek voor campers, zolang ze niet supergroot zijn (max 3,5 ton en 7,5 meter).

  Dogs are welcome, as long as they're sociable. Mango runs around freely here, so you have to get along. Cats are a bit of a thing... Mango finds cats very interesting, so if you bring one, it's at your own risk. She'll probably be with you all day :) -- Honden zijn welkom, als ze sociaal zijn. Mango loopt hier gewoon los rond, dus het moet wel klikken. Katten is wel een dingetje… Mango vindt katten héél interessant, dus als je die meeneemt, is dat op eigen risico. Waarschijnlijk staat ze de hele dag bij je :)
