We were sad to leave Sarah, Hamish, and Seth in NZ! They were fantastic hosts in every respect. Their home and accommodations were very nice and the surrounding rolling farmland is beautiful. We were allowed to use one of their cars for touring Southland sights on weekends. It was fun to live like the local kiwis and we picked up many of their
… read more words and phrases. Sarah is a fabulous cook, Seth was the calmest and sweetest baby ever! Hamish was eager to show us his farm contracting business and took Earl around to see some of his ongoing projects. We were treated with warmth and respect. We would present our ideas and Sarah and Hamish would give us the go-ahead. We loved the appreciation and gratitude shown for each thing we accomplished. They took us to Field Days, which is a big event in NZ and they also took us took view interesting historical reels about NZ in a sheep shearing shed. Earl enjoyed adding shelving and hooks in their garage, remodeling their laundry room, and adding pull-out baskets in the kitchen, among other things. Deborah spent lots of time caring for Seth but also made pillows and bolsters for a bench in the back entryway and also made a cloth bag dispenser for plastic bags. The time there went very fast and it was bittersweet to leave, as they seemed like family. Earl & Deborah have just spent 5 weeks with us here in NZ and we have loved every minute of their time here. Apart from being amazing help with a huge range of things we have also made friends for life. Their help included small & large DIY projects (garage storage, laundry redesign, garden furniture restoration, kitchen improvements etc) , sewing
… read more (making cushions etc), design & marketing, childminding, housework, gardening etc. It is just hard to describe how effective they have been. In a very short space of time it feels like our home has been transformed with so many of the "to do" list jobs finally ticked off!!
Not only have they carried out amazing work but they have managed it all in a very timely manner with very little guidance required. It was like having fairies - they instinctively knew what was needed, asked questions if required and delivered exceptionally every time.
Earl & Deb have wonderful personalities and are extremely entertaining and social. We are really missing them and the breath of fresh air they brought to our lives.

Sarah was an amazing host. She was very generous, always made sure we had what we needed. She encouraged us to go explore the area and helped us with tons of information. Her little boy was a delight to take care of and we also helped around the house and office. We really enjoyed getting to know her and the area and we'd go back in a heartbeat.

Kelsey & Kieran have just spent a few weeks with us and they have been amazing. We have loved meeting and getting to know them. They are very reliable and were extremely understanding of our needs. Nothing was ever a problem and they often went above and beyond to help us with other ideas etc.
