We stayed with Ruud, Indy and Wesley for almost a month. The main tasks were helping in the house, cooking and bringing the kids to violin and singing lessons. … read more nice spend time with them, they are very funny and friendly! We spent a lot of evenings with Ruud, drinking a tea together and having a chat; he really wants to make you feel part of the family, also going to the swimming pool and concerts together!
We really recommend this wonderful family!

We are a family with two children, both 9 years old. We hosted Chloé & Justine for two weeks and they were a good help. They integrated fast in the family and helped me a lot. They understood wat needed to be done without asking a million questions. They were calm and thoughtful while being in out family.

We stayed with this lovely family only two weeks. Indy, Wesley and Ruud gave us a wonderful welcome, our integration was verry quick. Indy and Wesley are full of energy, taking care of the mis a lot of fun. The main tasks are to take the children to school and to activities and to speak French with them. We stayed during seven weeks at Ruud's home. When we arrived, he was very nice, we arrived very late but he taked the time to speak little bit with us. First times, Indy was very sociable with us, she spoke lot of in french and with a very good level, but Wesley toke the time to do link with us but he was very cute next time. The house is very
… read more well-placer, just 20 minutes with bus, the neighborhood is very good, with lot of place to play, big green place, a river. We had to take care of the children (bring them to school, to the choir, play with us at the iceskating...), sometimes clean the house.
All of this was a very good experience, we could inprove our english with Ruud and learnt french to the children.
Maybe there are little negative point, we found that were problems with the organisation, sometimes we were supposed to be free, but Ruud told us at the end of day, he needs our help to take care children the evening.

We had a really nice time with Ruud, Wesley and Indy! Our tasks included bringing the kids to school and to extracurricular activities, making dinner and cleaning a bit from time to time. We stayed with them in December and learned a bit more about Dutch culture e.g. Sinterklaas :) Also the children had some free days where we spend the whole day
… read more with them, going to a public swimming pool, which was fun and a nice experience.
On the one hand we sometimes found it stressful to get everything organised and done, and often we were very tired at the end of the day. But on the other hand, most of the time Indy and Wesley were adorable, funny, clever and quite mature, we could always find a solution with them when there was difference of opinion (like which book to read or which vegetables to choose for dinner). Ruud is hardworking and always trying to make everything best for both, the workawayers and his children. He was very nice to us. Christiane & Simon stayed with us almost a month taking care of my two children Indy and Wesley, both 7 years old. Although they are both still very young I was completely OK with giving them the responsibility over the house and over the children. They used my car to transport the kids, they cooked well and spend many hours with my children, also

Camille & Charles have been with us several weeks. They took care of my children (both 7 years old) very well. My children learned a lot of French during their stay and they really enjoyed the visit.
Also Camille & Charles did help me a bit with maintaining the house and the household. They have been good cooks too!

Kersten and Omar have been super. They were great for my two children (7yo) and they did a lot of work in my house. I did not have to instruct them a lot; they saw the tasks and they took a lot of initiative. They have been so much possitive energy!

We stayed with Ruud for 2 weeks. Ruud, Indy, and Wesley welcomed us and made us feel at home right away. We had our own room on the 3rd floor with a sink and it was great! They live in an amazing community and the neighbors were very welcoming also!

… read more taking them to after school activities, playing with them and reading them books. We also did some general house maintenance things, cleaned the house and did some cooking for everybody.
Ruud is very nice and relaxed, we had great conversations. He is very dedicated to his children. Indy and Wesley are so much fun, they speak English very well. We really enjoyed spending time with them, lots of laughs!
Ruud let us borrow 2 bicycles and we were able to get around and really explore Eindhoven!
We would recommend Ruud and the kids to any volunteer!

Chloe and Jordan have been good compagny. They made good contact with the children and helped in my house. They even helped me painting some doors! They also cooked many times and brought the children to bed, reading books with them. Their support running my small family was really pleasant.

We stayed for a month at Ruud’s house. Indy and Wesley, the 7 years old Ruud’s children, are adorable. They are clever and have a good level of English and French. We had a lot of great moments with them. They are sociable and likeable. Indy is easy to speak with, she loves to speak French that’s why she is quick to improve her languages skill.
… read more Wesley is more distant than Indy but it doesn’t take long to create links with him. Children are lovely and well educated by Ruud who made this point a top priority.
Family lives in a community, it means that the neighbors’ house is bonded to Ruud’s. Streets are made of a dozen of 5 families groups. There are common spots also. This system allowed us to be closed to other people that are adorable and welcoming. A neighbor family is French, very kind. It’s an interesting system and a secured one because trust is at rendezvous. The house is quite big (2 floors upstairs) and equipped of 2 toilets and a bathroom. However, the house usually needs a big clean.
In addition, the house is very well-placed. It is next to lots of playground and a big green park with games for children, football ground, basketball ground… This is about 2 minutes by bicycles. There are 2 shops close to the house. All the advantages of a big city, living in a calm and peaceful place.
Ruud is very kind. He is arranging and listening. When we arrived, he took time to speak with us and make us comfortable, even if we were surprised to have to prepare the attic to be our bedroom. The stay was a good experience with lot of fun but also with a lack of organization. It could be explained by the fact that it was our first workaway experience.
