  Welcome to Our Lakeside Estate 🌿
  
  Welcome to our lakeside estate in the countryside of Melaka, Malaysia.
  
  Surrounded by nature, lakes, fruit trees and open land, it is a quiet place where people can slow down, reconnect with nature and enjoy a simple lifestyle away from the city.
  
  The estate has around 14 rooms, a longhouse and a campsite. We host small retreats, group stays, family stays and occasionally children’s camps and nature activities.
  
  What we love most about this place is the calm atmosphere. In the morning, you wake up to birds and fresh air. In the evening, you can sit by the lake and watch the sunset. At night, it is quiet and peaceful, with plenty of stars — and sometimes shooting stars if you're lucky!
  
  What to Expect
  
  We welcome volunteers who are open-minded, easygoing, and ready — both mentally and physically — to get involved in everyday life and help around the estate.
  
  There are different things to do depending on what is needed — housekeeping and cleaning, general maintenance, gardening, helping around the common areas, preparing the place for guests, and sometimes helping with small events or projects.
  
  Housekeeping is a regular part of life here, so we hope volunteers are happy to help keep the place clean, comfortable and ready for our guests.
  
  We also appreciate people who are independent and enjoy having their own time. There is plenty of space to relax, read, explore the area, meet other people or simply enjoy the nature around you. Of course we’re happy to share local tips and have a chat with you whenever we can :)
  
  If you have any extra skills, hobbies or interests, let us know! We’re always happy to see how we can make use of what you enjoy doing.
  
  Volunteers are expected to work 5 hours a day, 5 days a week, in exchange for accommodation and basic food ingredients.
  
  Food & Daily Life
  
  Volunteers prepare their own meals.
  
  We provide basic food ingredients such as rice, cooking oil, gas, salt, sugar, eggs and vegetables. You are welcome to cook your own meals in the shared kitchen.
  
  If there are other volunteers staying at the same time, you can also cook and share meals together if you wish.
  
  Cultural Exchange
  
  We enjoy meeting people from different countries and backgrounds and believe that cultural exchange can happen in many simple ways — through food, conversations, stories, skills and everyday life.
  
  The people behind the estate have experience in hospitality, guesthouses, pizzerias, cafés, farm stays, campsites, DIY projects and creative events.
  
  There is always something we can share, whether it is a practical skill, a travel story, a little bit about Malaysian life, or simply a good conversation.
  
  At the same time, we would love to learn from you too. Whatever your skills, hobbies, interests or experiences may be, feel free to share them with us.
  
  We hope to meet people who are respectful, independent, curious and easy to get along with, and who enjoy the simple rhythm of countryside life.
  
  If you enjoy nature, hands-on work, simple living and good conversations, you may feel at home here. 🌿

  Life here is a chance to experience a slower side of Malaysia and learn what goes on behind the scenes of a small countryside retreat.
  
  Depending on your interests, you may learn about gardening, basic DIY and maintenance, caring for a retreat space, simple hospitality, preparing for guests and groups, and the everyday rhythm of running a place surrounded by nature.
  
  We also welcome Workawayers who would like to share their own skills and ideas. Whether you enjoy cooking, art, music, photography, events, marketing, gardening, DIY or something completely different, you’re welcome to bring your own creativity into the experience.
  
  We value volunteers who are independent and comfortable creating their own routine. There is plenty of space and time to read, explore, work on your own projects, enjoy the lake or simply take a break from busy city life.
  
  For us, the exchange is simple: you help us with the estate, and in return you get a chance to learn, share your skills, experience countryside life in Malaysia and have some time to slow down and recharge.

  Ajuda

  We welcome volunteers who enjoy nature, are happy to be hands-on, and don’t mind getting their hands a little dirty.
  
  Some of the things you may help with include:
  
  - Gardening, watering plants and simple farm maintenance
  - Weeding and basic landscaping
  - Daily cleaning and keeping shared spaces tidy
  - Preparing rooms and common areas when guests arrive
  - Helping welcome guests and keep things running smoothly
  - Assisting with small events or camps from time to time
  - DIY projects, organising spaces and other little things around the estate
  
  Some days are quiet and relaxed, while other days can be more active when we have guests or groups staying. We appreciate volunteers who are able to see what needs to be done and get involved without needing to be guided every step of the way.
  
  There will also be plenty of free time to enjoy the lake, nature and the surrounding area at your own pace.

  Workawayers will stay in our longhouse, a simple semi-open wooden structure surrounded by nature.
  
  The sleeping area is set up with floor mattresses and bedding provided. The longhouse has an open-air design without walls and windows, so you can enjoy the natural breeze, hear the birds and wake up to the open landscape in the morning.
  
  It faces the open land, where you can enjoy the sunrise right from the longhouse. It’s a simple and rustic setup, perfect for those who enjoy being close to nature rather than looking for a typical hotel-style accommodation.
  
  As it is an open-air space surrounded by nature, you may occasionally encounter insects and little creatures, so this setup is best suited for people who are comfortable with that and enjoy a close-to-nature experience.

  This is a quiet countryside location, so there isn’t a lot happening around the estate. The main attraction is simply having the space and time to slow down and enjoy nature.
  
  During your free time, you can walk around the estate, relax by the lake, go kayaking, read a book, watch the sunrise or sunset, take photos, enjoy the surroundings or simply have some quiet time for yourself.
  
  There is a small local market within around 15–20 minutes’ walk from the estate for basic necessities.
  
  If you would like to explore more, you can take a bus from Jasin Sentral to Melaka town, where you can visit the tourist spots, explore the city, try local food and experience more of what Melaka has to offer.
