We worked eight weeks between may and july in Jochen's home. It was our first Workaway and it was really an incredible experience.
Jochen is an incredible person and we spent beautiful with him.
First, Jochen is a very interesting person who likes to teach what he knows. We have learnt so many things during our journey, as making DIY, especially
… read more with wood. We have worked on terraces, repaired wood chairs, and many other things that we didn't imagine we could do. Jochen has a lot of knowledge and we learnt new things every time. He is also very open-minded ant it was a pleasure to discuss with him. In addition, Jochen makes a 5 star cooking and makes delicious sauces and salads.
The place is really pretty and it was a pleasure to live in. It is located near a beautiful beach, and you can easily visit the countryside on bikes. The garden is beautiful with many fruit trees and people are very welcoming and the house very comfortable.
During our journey, we worked on many different projects, as repairing bikes, hanging DIY scarecrows in the fruit trees, repairing terraces harvesting the cherries, and making jam and syrup.
The tasks were very varied, and we were never bored. Moreover, there was always more things to do, as weeding or watering the plants.
The rythm was very pleasant and there was a very good atmosphere in Jochen's house.
To conclude, we spent a marvelous time here in Uanqui, learning a lot of things, and more important, spending real quality time with Jochen and his friends. We highly recommend him and we will surely be back one day !!

Not to mention the fruit picking and jam production. After my instructions, it seemed so natural, as if the two of them had done nothing else their whole lives. Thank you very much for that. Also for preparing the recipes that Noelia conjured up so that they were ready for an animated print. I am excited to see whether the two of them want to do research in this discipline furthermore?
Not to mention their wonderful willingness to help and their own initiative when it comes to everyday meals. I have learned a lot from Spanish cuisine and can now mix more traditions from two very different countries. Not only this: caramelized almonds on blackberry jelly on Greek yoghurt...
It's a little shame that I couldn't do any more manual work with Pablo. I noticed that he's good at this. But the fruit was more important. So next time.
Conclusion: Noelia and Pablo are two extremely lovely people who can take on new tasks without fear or reservations and complete them with joy, care and good results.

… read more life, is a natural artist, and an active person who surprises you daily with new knowledge or stories. All of this, combined with his big heart, makes him a truly wonderful person.
2. Location: The place is a dream village with beautiful houses, pristine beaches, and friendly people. Also, the food is amazing, not only because most of the products are organic and ecological, but also because Jochen is an excellent cook. The village is located on the Baltic Sea cycling route, making it ideal for those who enjoy cycling.
3. Tasks: The tasks were varied and very enriching, allowing us to learn new things every day and feel fulfilled with each completed project. Jochen always finds a way to make the tasks interesting and motivating, making the time fly by.
In summary, our stay at Uanqui Beach was a resounding success. Both Jochen and his friends have shown to be outstanding people in spirit. We highly recommend it and hope to see each other again soon! Tschüss!

I spent six lovely weeks at Uanqui Beach. Visiting this place is an experience in every sense of the word. Jochen is a thoughtful host, a talented designer, and a patient teacher. He has impressive amounts of knowledge and experience with building (and every other aspect of life), and shares generously. Every day the work was different and
… read more engaging; this is the kind of place where the potential of a project is ever-present. You get to work with the materials, really learn their nature, and come to know them in a different way. Sometime the materials are wood and metal and sometimes they are eggplant and mushrooms ;) No aspect of life is unexamined here. The food, I should mention, is top shelf. Jochen can turn any combination of pantry goods into a five-star meal in the blink of an eye. Janusz and Edyta, wagon guests, and neighbors were all lovely and enriching people to know. I shared so many different types of smiles while at Uanqui Beach and it will forever hold a special place in my heart. In Autumn 2022 I visited Jochens farm for one month. The work life balance was excellent. Jochen asks the workers what they would like to eat and buys most of it or finds a replacement if something is not available.

I catched myself when I was back home, that I bought expensive plums to recreate this desert for myself, whereas in Jochens home they grow in the garden for free from Mother Nature.
The work which I could do, was creative and fulfilling. I did not feel used like a slave, as it happens in other places, but I really felt appreciation for it.
If humans who do inner spiritual work are living together for more then three days, it is self-evident that they trigger each other. Usually you get triggered with your unsolved issues, which you absolutely know about yourself.
This happened to me and I am grateful to Jochen that he intervened and I broke a pattern which I was suffering from my whole life.
I learned how important it is to express needs and desires in a way that gives people a chance to learn as well.
The place itself is really nice, the waggons and interior everywhere has an artful industrial style, extremely practical, unique and just pure, raw and beautiful. They are all self made.
As you can see on the profile, the place is close to the ocean, just a few minutes via bicycle. The stony beach has a secret entrance in the water with a stone free zone. After figuring it out, it will be the most pleasant undisturbed baltic seabath you could ever wish for.
Last but not least, my best regards go also to Janusz, who has a heart of gold.
