Hello there. We are Iona, Noah, Lyra and Juliane (mum)and live in Germany between Karlsruhe and Stuttgart in a small town that’s surrounded by vinyards and orchards. The medieval town of Bretten is closeby.
We need a loving friendly helper who loves children and is practically minded to play with and read stories to Lyra,(4) be there for Noah (8) and Iona (11) as well and help looking after them. They are wonderful, each in their own way and are most of the time great fun to be with.
They love music, dancing,( especially Lyra) animals, books and stories and going outside to the nearby fields and woods on adventures. Noah had lots of friends his age and is often busy playing with them.
Iona is already quite grown up and loves to make cakes, little theatre plays and design things or do funny experiments. She plays the piano as well.
I work as a classical singer and Voice coach and teach from home.
I work ten to twenty hours a week teaching plus organisation and practising for concerts.
The children are in a forest kindergarten and school in the mornings and come back at two when I have lunch prepared for them four times a week. Basically only Lyra needs someone to look after her, the other two are often out and about playing with their friends.
My next big project is a Rossini Performance in a big setting in Stuttgart in January.
So I need to organize and practice more for that.
I also train as a supervisor in the method of voice training I specialize in which is based on profound knowledge of anatomy, neurology etc.
This involves several weekend seminars each year (about seven).
I speak German ( of course ), English ( very well ), Italian (pretty well) Spanish ( tolerably) and French I understand quite a bit. The children speak English, except for little Lyra.
I spent years living abroad ( Africa and the UK) and travelling widely. I love spending time and getting to know people from all over the globe and so do my children:)
My hobbies are yoga, contact dancing and riding, I love books and gardening and all sorts of crafts.
Our house has a big garden with fruit trees and shrubs and it‘s close to the fields and woods.
We have lovely friends that come for dinners and music and enjoying life together.
We love going riding with our neighbours islandic horses or taking their young and cute dog for long walks.
There are lots of concerts and other cultural events in our area and of course in Karlsruhe and Stuttgart which are both easily reachable with public transport.
If you came to stay with us you would help with house work, preparing meals, taking or collecting the kids to classes ( only two or three times a week) and be with them when I need to work and go away. Work would be mainly in afternoons and evenings as well as sometimes weekends.
If you‘d stay for a minimum of six months we could also make an Au pair contract which‘d mean working 30 h a week, receiving pocket money and taking part in a language course two or three times a week plus a free ticket for public transport.
We‘d love to help you learn German or English and show you round or help you find classes or workshops you might want to do. We love spending time in nature and have beautiful countryside round here.

There are loads of things on offer in the area. Be that language classes, or countless other activities. Living with us could offer also the opportunity of working with your own voice as I would be willing to give you two lessons a month if you‘d like to try.

You should have a driving licence for being able to get around.

Acomodação
We have a lovely sunny room under the roof where you have complete peace and which looks into the garden. The bathroom you‘d use is just downstairs where my studio, the office and Iona‘s bedroom are. Iona uses the lower bathroom so it would be all yours. You‘d share the rest of the house with us ( it‘s three storeys and a cellar), Lyra, Noah and I live on the ground level where we have kitchen, living room and another bath room. We like to eat vegetarian/ vegan food and have eggs and goats milk products from our neighbours who have a few animals. Otherwise I only buy organic vegan food.
I also look forward to making my own yoghurt and butter from the goat’s milk but haven‘t quite got round to it:)

Doing Yoga and singing together as well as spending time with the children outside with or without the animals would be lovely.
