A few years ago I have decided to bring back to life a piece of my past memories: this is a semi abandoned traditional building in the middle of an old village, Tivegna, Liguria: a small village at the border between Tuscany and Liguria.
The place lends naturally itself to a slower paste, deeper connection with the surrounding environment and everything that comes from it.
Contemporary ways of renewing a house have little to do with my vision and my budget and I have decided to do it by myself, using local materials, ancient techniques and personal inspiration.
Travelers interested in learning new skills or sharpening existing ones are welcome to join us and give their contribution to this long time project.
Friends and people with different stories and backgrounds gravitate around the house and everyone is encouraged to bring and leave something special and personal in this place.
The building is a work in progress: every day, depending upon weather, personal inspiration and schedule, we work on a part of the project and help is needed in everything that goes from carrying materials to preparing meals. I have already completed different projects and I am glad to teach to interested and motivated individuals what I have learned so far.
Tivegna is on the top of one the hills surrounding La Spezia and it is connected to the city with buses but it’s not a place easy to reach nor a place for partying, therefore socially obsessed people should abstain from joining.

My circle of friends and myself have a bumber of interests and competences ranging from home and house building to italian traditional literature and knife carving, depending upon your interest, you will be able to join in and give your contribution.
Ajuda
Travelers interested in learning technical and building skills or sharpening existing ones are welcome to join us and give their contribution to this long time project. We are not professionals and this is not a business, volunters will share a space that will be opened to the community.
This could be a typical day of the week:

afternoon is free and we are more than happy to show you around when possible.

I am interested in brushing up my english and communicate with native speakers in general. Same thing for spanish.I am available to speak my native language (italian) with others.
Acomodação
Independent room with bathroom suitable for a couple or two individuals wanting to share a place. Toilet and small studio. Kitchen and living room are going to be shared and kept in perfect state all times.
Vegetarian people are welcome even though in the houseold we follow a typical and healthy mediterranean diet. Based on our day to day logistics, we cannot offer a suitable accomodation to a vegan crowd, sorry!

Busses are available form the old town, but car or bikes are more suitable to get around. The village is ideally placed and connected through a series of astonishing trails leading to Cinque Terre, Portovenere, Alta ViaMonti Liguri etc. Host is available to take helpers in the afternoon to nearby destinations, coming back at night.
