Hello, fellow horse lovers and nature enthusiasts!
My small farm, which features an open stable for two horses, is located in the triangle formed by Salzburg (approx. 60 km), Passau (approx. 50 km), and Linz (approx. 85 km) in the foothills of the Alps in Upper Austria. It is simply a very small private farm, and I am a private host.
I live in a beautiful country-style house with two residential units, a garden (including a vegetable patch) and agricultural land covering around 5,000 m².
I am currently looking for cheerful and attentive volunteers to help out on my private farm for at least two weeks to a month. (This is not a commercial operation.)
A trusting, caring and mindful atmosphere for my two horses forms the basis of our work with them. This means that I am particularly keen to invite someone for whom horses are a matter close to the heart, as well as someone committed to looking after the house and garden. Whether it’s tending to the flowering plants or weeding, looking after the small vegetable patch, or maintaining the living spaces and outdoor areas around the house. Manual dexterity is highly desirable. Especially now in spring, everything is sprouting and waiting to be tended to.
ABOUT ME
I (Johanna) am a vocational college teacher by profession and run my small farm alongside my teaching work. My small farm is run purely as a private venture and is a home for me and my horses. They are very dear to my heart and part of my family.
I love adventure and have taken many wonderful trips across different continents. Connecting with the locals has always been a source of great enrichment and joy for me. The moment I brought my horses home, my travels naturally changed completely. Now the travelers come to me. Through our interactions and many conversations, there’s often an opportunity to grow and get a little closer to myself. – That is exactly what I love so much.
And I love nature and being close to nature. Treating it with care is very important to me.

Hallo, liebe Pferdefreunde und Naturliebhaber!
Mein kleiner Hof mit einem Offenstall für zwei Pferde liegt im Länderdreieck zwischen Salzburg (ca. 60 km),
Passau (ca. 50 km) und Linz (ca. 85 km) im Voralpengebiet in OÖ. Es handelt sich lediglich um einen privaten, sehr kleinen Bauernhof und ich bin ein privater Gastgeber.
Ich lebe in einem wunderschönen Haus im Landhausstil mit zwei Wohneinheiten, einem Garten
(inkl. Gemüsegarten) und einer landwirtschaftlichen Fläche von etwa 5.000 m2.
Derzeit suche ich fröhliche und achtsame Freiwillige für mind. zwei Wochen bis einen Monat, zur Mithilfe auf meinem privaten Hof. (Kein gewerblicher Betrieb.)
Eine vertrauensvolle, fürsorgliche und achtsame Atmosphäre für meine beiden Pferde ist die Grundlage unserer Zusammenarbeit mit ihnen. Das bedeutet, dass ich mich besonders freue, jemanden einzuladen, dem Pferde eine Herzensangelegenheit sind, genauso wie das Engagement bzw. die Pflege rund ums Haus und den Garten. Sei es die Pflege der Blühpflanzen bzw. das Jäten, oder die Pflege des kleinen Gemüsegartens, aber auch die Pflege der Wohnräume und der Außenanlage rund ums Haus. Handwerkliches Geschick ist sehr erwünscht. Gerade jetzt im Frühling sprießt alles und wartet auf Pflege.
ÜBER MICH
Ich (Johanna) bin von Beruf Berufsschullehrerin und vereine meinen kleinen Hof mit meiner Arbeit als Lehrerin. Mein kleiner Hof wird rein privat geführt und ist das Zuhause für mich und meine Pferde. Sie sind meine Herzensangelegenheit und Teil meiner Familie.
Ich liebe das Abenteuer und habe schon viele, sehr schöne Reisen auf verschiedenen Kontinenten gemacht. Dabei war mir der Kontakt zu den Einheimischen immer eine sehr große Bereicherung und Freude. In dem Moment, als ich meine Pferde nach Hause holte, änderte sich mein Reisen natürlich grundlegend. Nun kommen die Reisenden zu mir. Im Austausch, bei vielen Gesprächen, ergibt sich oftmals die Chance, zu wachsen und sich selbst ein Stückchen näher zu kommen. – Genau das liebe ich so sehr.
Und ich liebe die Natur und die Naturverbundenheit. Ein achtsamer Umgang ist mir sehr wichtig.

MY PHILOSOPHY

WHY A VOLUNTEER?
I love interacting with different people (through volunteers) and cultures from different countries, and I love getting to know their way of thinking.
REQUIREMENTS
To help out on my small farm, you need to be physically and mentally fit!
Loving animals—especially horses—and enjoying being outdoors in all kinds of weather, even braving the rain, is a must.
If you’d like to stay longer than two weeks, the first two weeks will serve as a trial period to see if we get along.

ANFORDERUNGEN
Um auf meinem kleinen Hof mitzuhelfen, musst du körperlich und geistig fit sein!
Tiere, im Besonderen Pferde, zu lieben und Freude daran zu haben, bei Wind und Wetter draußen zu sein, dem Regen zu trotzen, ist eine Grundvoraussetzung.
Falls Du länger als zwei Wochen bleiben möchtest, gelten die ersten zwei Wochen als Probezeit, um herauszufinden, ob wir uns miteinander wohlfühlen.

My small private farm invites you to find yourself. By interacting mindfully with my horses, listening to them and paying attention to them—as well as to nature— you are invited to build a connection with the horses and nature.
I am interested in a healthy and sustainable lifestyle for both horses and humans. The connection to my horses is very important to me. Being out and about with them (e.g., on a walk) is a great joy for me. Philosophical and spiritual conversations are always enriching for me.
It is important that you enjoy maintaining things with a love for order (because clean, tidy spaces also support your inner clarity), as well as flexibility and a keen sense of the needs of this place.
- I am a vegetarian.
- Smoking, alcohol, and drugs are prohibited on the entire farm premises.
- We cannot accommodate families or dogs.

GEMEINSAME AUFGABEN
Mein kleiner privater Hof lädt ein, bei sich selbst anzukommen. Im achtsamen Umgang mit meinen Pferden, ihnen zuzuhören und auf sie zu hören, wie auch der Natur,
lädt dich ein, eine Verbindung mit den Pferden und der Natur aufzubauen.
Ich interessiere mich für einen gesunden und nachhaltigen Lebensstil für Pferd und Mensch. Die Verbindung zu meinen Pferden ist mir ein sehr großes Anliegen. Mit ihnen unterwegs zu sein (zB bei einem Spaziergang) ist mir eine ganz große Freude. Philosophische und spirituelle Gespräche sind stets eine Bereicherung für mich.
Es ist wichtig, dass du Freude daran hast, Dinge mit Liebe zur Ordnung zu pflegen (denn die äußeren, sauberen, Räume unterstützen dich auch in deiner inneren Klarheit), sowie über Flexibilität und ein feines Gespür für die Bedürfnisse dieses Ortes.

ACCOMMODATION
You will have a large bedroom and a private bathroom at your disposal during your stay. The kitchen serves as a common gathering place where we eat together. Next to it is a living room for relaxing. Helping out around the house—with cooking, doing the dishes, maintaining the outdoor areas, etc.—is an important part of your time with me.
The farm is located in a small village with no direct connection to public transportation.
It’s about a 2-kilometer walk to the nearest bus stop.
MEALS
Since I work, depending on my schedule, I often have to leave the house very early in the morning and don’t get back until the evening.
The shared, fully equipped kitchen is there for you to prepare your own meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner). We’ll create a weekly shopping list so you can always take care of your own meals.
If time or my schedule allows, I’d love to spend time with you over a shared meal. However, this depends heavily on my schedule. Therefore, it’s absolutely essential that you’re comfortable being on your own and that you’re also very reliable and honest.
IN RETURN
… you’ll immerse yourself in the peaceful atmosphere of my small farm and a quaint village, far away from the hustle and bustle of city life. You’ll enjoy spending time on your own, carrying out your daily tasks with care and diligence. These tasks are centered around treating the horses with mindfulness, love, and respect. They live with me as members of the family and are the heart of my small farm.
You’ll also enjoy tending to the garden (flowering plants and vegetables) as well as the outdoor areas. Manual dexterity is highly desirable, as minor repairs often come up. In return, you’ll have the opportunity to find peace and quiet.
You will handle the tasks independently. You will also have the opportunity to improve your German language skills (otherwise, I also speak English).

UNTERKUNFT
Es steht dir ein großes Schlafzimmer sowie ein eigenes Bad für deinen Aufenthalt zur Verfügung. Die Küche dient uns als gemeinsamer Ort der Begegnung, sowie dem gemeinsamen Essen. Daneben befindet sich noch ein Wohnzimmer für die gemütlichen Stunden. Die Mithilfe im Haushalt – beim Kochen, beim Abwasch, bei der Pflege der Außenanlagen usw. – ist ein wichtiger Teil deiner Zeit bei mir.
Der Hof befindet sich in einem kleinen Dorf ohne direkte Anbindung an ein öffentliches Verkehrsnetz.
Ca 2 km zu Fuß sind notwendig, um den nächsten Bus zu erreichen.
ESSEN
Da ich berufstätig bin, muss ich je nach Stundenplan auch oft mal schon in aller Früh außer Haus und komme dann erst am Abend wieder.
Die gemeinsame, voll ausgestattete Küche dient dir, dich selbst zu verpflegen (Frühstück, Mittagessen, Abendessen). Wir erstellen eine wöchentliche Einkaufsliste, so dass du dich immer selbst versorgen kannst.
Wenn es die Zeit bzw. mein Stundenplan zulässt, freue ich mich über gemeinsame Zeiten bei Tisch bei einem gemeinsamen Essen. Das ist allerdings sehr vom Stundenplan abhängig. Daher ist es unbedingt notwendig, dass du gut mit dir alleine zurechtkommst und auch sehr verlässlich und ehrlich bist.
IM GEGENZUG
… tauchst du ein in eine ruhige Kultur meines kleinen Hofes und eines kleinen Dorfes, weit ab vom großen Rummel. Du genießt es, deine Zeit mit dir zu verbringen, deine täglichen Aufgaben sorgfältig und gewissenhaft zu erledigen. Sie sind geprägt vom achtsamen, liebevollen und respektvollen Umgang mit den Pferden. Sie leben bei mir als Familienmitglieder und sind das Herzstück meines kleinen Hofes.
Außerdem kümmerst du dich gerne um die Pflege des Gartens (Blühpflanzen und Gemüsepflanzen) sowie um die Außenanlage. Handwerkliches Geschick ist sehr erwünscht, da auch immer wieder kleinere Reparaturen anfallen. Im Gegenzug bietet sich dir die Möglichkeit in der Ruhe zu dir zu finden.
Du übernimmst selbständig die Aufgaben. Ebenso hast du die Möglichkeit deine Deutschkenntnisse zu verbessern (ansonsten spreche ich auch Englisch).
Du lebst in einer beschaulichen Umgebung, fernab vom Trubel, ganz nah an der Natur.

HOW YOU CAN SUPPORT ME
¬ Animal Care
Do you have a passion for horses and everything related to the horse-human relationship? You can learn about working with horses in a mindful way (no riding) and join the trainer for the 14-day training sessions. A loving and caring home is very important to me for my horses.
This naturally includes helping with feeding, mucking out, filling the hay racks, storing hay, and possibly doing minor repairs, etc.

Help with mowing, weeding, sowing, harvesting, canning, minor repairs, …

Cleaning, decluttering, and tidying up rooms, …

We have a stable internet connection, but we use it sparingly.
This means that cell phones and mobile devices may only be used on the farm in specific areas
(private living area) and only when absolutely necessary.
The internet connection is turned off from 22:30 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

¬ Tierpflege
Du hast eine Leidenschaft für Pferde und alles, was mit der Pferd-Mensch-Beziehung zu tun hat? Du kannst etwas über den achtsamen Umgang mit Pferden lernen (kein Reiten) und bei den 14-tägigen Trainings mit der Trainerin dabei sein. Ein liebevolles und fürsorgliches Zuhause ist mir für meine Pferde sehr wichtig.
Dazu gehört natürlich die Mithilfe beim Füttern, Ausmisten, dem Befüllen der Heuraufen, dem Heueinlagern und ev. kleinere Reparaturen, etc.

Von 22:30 Uhr bis 5.00 Uhr ist die Internetverbindung ausgeschalten.
