Descrição
Sanctuary for relaxation, meditation and detoxification retreats in the lovely small town of Tepoztlán, Morelos, Mexico. Tepoztlán is known as "Pueblo Magico" or Magic Town (UNESCOS towns), a well known tourist destination less than an hour away from Mexico City on the motorway and very easy to get to by bus from DF. This functions as a B&B guesthouse with different options/packages. We have five guest rooms, a spacious living room with patios and beautiful gardens. It is very tranquil, peaceful and relaxed.

My name is Anosha. I have created and run the place mostly single handed, with the help of Angelica who cooks, cleans (we share the work), and a gardener.

Over the years we have created excellent reputation, especially on Tripadvisor. Our aim has been to provide an urban refuge for people to come to recharge, relax and reconnect with nature and spirit. There are not many places that offer this detoxification program with B&B and we do our best to provide the best possible service.

Tepoztlan is a well known tourist attraction, only 1 hour away from Mexico City and international airport. We are located in the National Park of Morelos, with beautiful forest as our "park". Fresh air, wonderful weather all year round, even in the rainy season.Apart from enjoying our local town, volunteers enjoy healthy food, tranquility, experiencing Mexican culture, improving their Spanish , meeting new people and learning about our way of helping make a better world.

LOOKING FOR HELP towards the end of JULY and MONTH of AUGUST 2017. May go into SEPTEMBER too.
We are in the process of moving to new premises and are going to need help with carpentry ( nothing too complicated, a general knowledge of carpentry would be sufficient). Also looking for help with replanting/landscaping of the new garden Some basic building skills would also be very useful.
We need to prepare our new house for clients, so the above mentioned skills would be most helpful to us.

CARPENTRY: attaching doors to kitchen units, putting up shelves to prepare closets, kitchen cabinets, etc.
BASIC BUILDING SKILLS, some painting if needed.
GARDEN HELP: clearing away old stuff, and replanting with new plants. This may need a strong guy/s that enjoy creating beautiful garden space and working outdoors.

While the new house is being completed, we are staying in the origina building. The new house is spacious, full of light,with beautiful grounds. You will enjoy being and working there.

Tepoztlán is known as Pueblo Magico and is a well known tourist attraction. Being close to Mexico City it receives many visitors from abroad and Mexico. It has its own pyramid called Tepozteco that attracts many tourists and is located in the National Park. There are many great hikes and beautiful nature. It is a lively town with many musicians, artists, healers /curanderos and a weekend market that is very well known. There are many great cafes and restaurants and excellent food.

Being close to Cuernavaca and Mexico city gives opportunity for visiting these towns, and there are other places of attraction nearby.

Anosha has carved out a sanctuary behind her walls with wild plants and flowers. Truly an oasis! I arrived during the time of a major home improvement project. I can tell it was a stressful time for Anosha having to juggle between the painter, roofer, maintenance, electrician and her landlord-neighbor

Eager to help lift the burden, I started… read more helping the same day I arrive. From that day on, we worked, stop for lunch and I would rest before starting back up again until dusk. I like to think a balanced life is a good life. My responsibilities included but not limited to a daily sweeping of the outside, watering the garden and plants, helped with cooking and washing dishes, cleaned out the fountain, sealed some planters and brick wall. Repoted some plants, helped grow and maintained wheatgrass for detox, painted the pillars and the symbolic sun sign on the posts along the road side leading to her property. Got to help Martha in the office when there’s a questions regarding Wordpress or social media related issue. Martha is a very loving and easy-going person-glad I got a chance to take her out for lunch and attempted to help her sort through her things for moving. Last, but not least, I took over 150 pictures of the property and Tepoztlan and shared it with Anosha to help with her business website

Most days we helped for 5 hours or more with Sunday free and that’s when I would walk to town and tour around. A lot happened during my 18-day stay. A copy of my passport was made for security measure, Anosha took me to town and treated me to tea and graciously shared her novels with me. She colored my hair and even invited masseuses over for a much needed massage. We watched films and had many nice meals together. There were a few days that I didn’t feel well where my back gave me trouble, Anosha was understanding and allowed me to rest

Anosha is fierce, passionate, particular, caring, and very much hands on. One evening while we relaxed and tried out the technique taught to me by Victor, Anosha apologized for the outbreak and the uproar. I took it as a learning experience..reminding to always be gentle with myself while continuing to push forward with the task at hand. I’ve learned so much about myself by observing the decisions made and the actions taken. I will never forget my experience under her care. Standing firm while looking ahead, I wish her well and rooting for her future endeavors!

Anosha, first of all I want to say two things:

1) Thank you for all the things I learned from you.

2) I admire what you did with the building itself. When I saw the before and after pictures I was really amazed. How this place was turned into a little piece of paradise.

First of all there are the flexible hours I worked. Anosha doesn’t work with fixed hours and eventually I experienced a very good balance in working- and free time. In the end I had a lot of free days, in comparison to the long days I worked in the beginning. I could say the balance in the end was perfect.
The work itself was ideal for me. I like to practice working in mindfulness, so daily sweeping the leaves around the house, painting various things, clearing the wood from the road, weeding, planting, …. I really enjoined it.

Since I always try to search for peaceful, quite, remote and inspiring places, I really got a perfect location staying with Anosha. Tepoztlan itself is just beautiful, and it is at walking distance from the center. (Around 30 - 40 minutes walking).

The guesthouse is more up in the mountains, and next to her house you can find a walking trail which you can use to go up even more, and even as an alternative trail to reach the pyramid.

Something Workawayers always are curious about is the food…yes, don’t worry, with Anosha there is no lack in flavor and health. I got a lot of healthy and delicious shakes, tasty snacks and good meals. Anosha can really create delicious things with the local ingredients.

A nice plus is also that it is a guesthouse. I had the opportunity to meet some very interesting and friendly persons and often walked around with them in the center of Tepoztlan or in the mountains.

If you are interested in spirituality, religion and history (Mindfulness, meditation, yoga, Taoism, Buddhism, Christianity, …) Well, this house is a library. So many interesting books, dvd’s, documentary’s,…)
And even if you are not at all interested in these things, just ask Anosha for some interesting stuff, I’m sure she will have something which will interests you.

There are 3 rooms in the guesthouse, and as a volunteer I could sleep in one of them. No tent in the backyard, no crappy caravan or a bed on the ground. Nope, a clean, nice and big room all for myself. This is definitely a wonderful extra.

I hope you will enjoin your time here, and Anosha I hope you can enjoin the help of volunteers for a long time :)
