I only stayed a month in Patrick and Bettina’s house but it was such a wonderful experience.
From my first 3 steps out of the metro I already felt part of the family.
The girls welcomed me very well (the cats and dog aswell) and every single day was just a pleasure to work and help them.
I left the house improved in every single aspect.
I learned
… read more about new cooking techniques, general maintenance, I improved my English and Spanish, and of course my music and movie knowledge. (And maths...)
I had various tasks to do every day so one day was never the same as the one before, and that was very nice.
This family is just amazing, I hope that every new workawayers they will host will treat them with the biggest respect possible because that’s how they are going to be treated.
I also leave this house with lots of lasting memories, laughs and friends.
So thank you very much, I loved my stay and I hope I’ll see you again one day.

Ariana und Alicia sind einzigartige und aufgeschlossene Menschen, mit denen sich der Deutschunterricht (fast ;)) nie wie eine Arbeit angefühlt hat. An den Wochenenden ist viel Zeit, um Valencia zu besichtigen oder einfach im Garten am Pool in der Sonne zu liegen. We had a wonderful 3 weeks with Paula. She is such a positive, active, extrovert young woman, always laughing and smiling and fun to be with. She prepared a variety of family meals, all vegetarian, but so well cooked that we didn´t even miss the meat :-). She immediately got on well with everybody and the girls had a good time giggling, playing
… read more games or just being silly together. She also did the chores she was given with responsibility and an eye for the detail.
Paula is an open minded person who makes friends easily and has a positive outlook on life. She is pro-active and simply a lovely person. Wish you all the best for the future!

Petra was with us for two weeks, as a surprise last minute workawayer. She is a very interesting person with lots of stories to tell from her quite alternative lifestyle. I very much enjoyed our like minded conversations while walking the dogs.
As the girls were quite busy (therefore less German teaching), Petra took over all the cooking and
… read more household chores and did also little tasks around the house and garden. She does not need any instructions, she just gets going and sees exactly what needs to be done. Also Petra´s cooking was excellent and her dishes were prepared and presented with lots of little details. We felt very spoilt during her stay! :-)

Ariana also enjoyed her German classes with Emma, they were never boring and the two girls had a good time together. Emma stayed with us for two weeks and the time passed too quickly. She was a great help and with her positive and relaxed approach it was very pleasant to have her around. Wishing her all the best with the Spanish language and her future studies and adventures. :-)

During my time there I had so much fun with the Girls and I also liked the German lessons with Ariana a lot! During my free time I just relaxed, went to the beach or explored Valencia.
I really enjoyed the evenings together watching films or series, the nice and interesting conversations, playing board games together or Ariana's exciting volleyball game, which I watched together with Alicia.

I had the great opportunity to stay with Ariana, Alicia, Amelie, Bettina and Patrick in a beautiful suburb of Valencia. Although it was a very spontaneous idea of mine to go to Spain for these four weeks in march 2022, everything worked out very well. The whole family including all the animals welcomed me with

Very quickly I became good friends with the girls, not only having fun while reading books or doing any German exercises with them, but also doing other activities like going to Valencia, watching a movie or playing some games. During the day when „everybody“ was out and I decided to stay at home (mostly only because of the bad weather we had:/) I never felt "lonely" because of all the amazing and loving animals around.
All in all I had an amazing and wonderful time and I have taken everyone to my heart.

This was my first workaway and I couldn't have pictured it to be any better. I stayed with Bettina and her family for 4 weeks in March. From the first day on they were super welcoming and lovely. I had my own bathroom, they supplied me with food every day and made great suggestions how I could spend my day.

Apart from doing some German studying with the girls, Vincent contributed a lot to the general German speaking atmosphere in the house. We enjoyed having him around as part of the family, spending time together baking, cooking, gardening, playing, reading, going for walks and having a good time.

And then, there were the kids. Amelie, Alicia and Ariana. Lovely, smart and so vivid. Amazing language skills for their age. I am impressed.
It was brilliant to see them switching three languages all of a sudden.
I just really enjoyed, talking, reading, playing, watching films, ride a bike, jump on the trampa trampa or just the suppers with you :)
Bettina and Patrick are great parents. Lots of knowledge collected in different parts of the world. Furthermore they got quite interesting stories to tell.
You never made me feeling uncomfortable. You just gave me a good amount of tasks, I had lots of free time, you treated me with good food and I was simply a part of your family which felt really good and made it not easy to leave.
At this point we can't forget about Snowy, Tiger, Foxy and Lucky - four sweeties which I could have fun or cuddles with now and then or some good walkies around the area (the river was the best).
My accomodation was perfect - big comfy bed in my room, lots of space for my clothes and my own bathroom with nice shower :D
Thank you so much. I am grateful for this month you let me stay in your house and being part of your family. It was just a really good start for my workaway- future. For me it was a perfect mix between time for myself and time with them and helping. I was walking with the amazing dogs everyday and helping with small cleaning tasks and the kids.
The house is great, I got my own room and bathroom, which was really nice.
I also liked the area a lot, its quiet but still close to the metro, which brings you fast to valencia.
