We are an Australian couple who retired to live in the centre of a small town in a large, very old house and garden in the beautiful warm, sunny Charente in rural France. We have 1 very friendly cat. In exchange for a friendly, pleasant stay we would appreciate some help.
We have just bought an old farm 10 minutes away on La Lien, a stream that runs into the Charente a few hundred meters downstream. So we are moving out of our big house in town, and would love a hand to move.
Ruffec is a small rural town. There is a train station, with a regular TER service to Angouleme and Poitiers, from where the LGV runs between Paris and Bordeaux.

Being in rural France with little English spoken.
We are renovating a barn and bringing the gardening back up to good condition, so would appreciate some help with this.

Larg, very old family home in the middle of town with own bedrooms, shared bathroom, garden.
The boulangeries, patisseries, and cafes are a minutes walk. The train station is 10 minutes walk away. There is a beautiful swimming area with cafe and canoes 20 minutes walk or 10 minutes on the pushbikes. We have pushbikes you can use. Angouleme and Poitier are 45 minutes on the TER while Paris, Tours and Bordeaux are about 2 to 2 1/2 hours on the TER and TGV.
