    Descrição

Nau mai haere mai! Welcome! Willkommen!
Thanks for checking out our page...

We are a couple living on a property with 14ha of protected native bush (forest), 4 hens, 1 rooster, 2 sheep, hundreds of birds, thousands of glow-worms, millions of insects, organic gardens & fruit trees - we are all looking forward to hopefully host you soon in this very special corner of the world :)

    Hori -
33 year old Māori/Pākehā. From my mother, I descend from tribes in the Bay of Plenty region from the ancestral canoes - Nukutere, Mataatua & Te Arawa. My father is Pākehā from the South Island (Otago) with Scottish, English and Viking ancestry. I bought this property in 2017 and have hosted workaway volunteers ever since. In 2018 I volunteered for many workaway hosts as I backpacked around the world (mainly in Europe and South America).
My vision is to live a simple, self-sufficient life connected to land and sea. Creating a safe space where people can be high on nature.

    Steffi-
34 year old German free spirit. I started traveling the world when I turned 20 just after finishing my apprenticeship in Hotel Management. Travelling became my biggest passion and I kept exploring for the following 14 years on and off . In between travelling and volunteering on all continents of the world, meeting amazing people and making some very special memories, I worked in hospitality in Switzerland, on orchards in Japan and New Zealand, on a ship in South Africa, as a Nanny in Mexico and much more. I also got my massage therapist certificates in between all this.
Describing me in only a few words: non-meat eater since I am a little girl, alcohol-free since 2017, traveling, yoga, homegrown organic food and medicine, animal lover, nature, natural way of living, music, positive, laughing, loving the oceans, rivers ad lakes.

We are looking for energetic, self motivated, environmentally conscious people who have skills and experience to help with these current projects:

    - earth wall building for garden edging
    - earth building
    - deck building
    - animal pest control (possums, rats, musterlids, cats, mice)
    - plant propagation
    - gardening
    - roof prep/painting
    - fencing

We can offer volunteers Māori culture, NZ flora & fauna info, NZ music, guitars, healthy organic homegrown food, eco friendly living, a peaceful place to be away from the stresses of travel & the city.

We strive to live a waste free life, so if you bring any plastic products (or any other waste) with you, we kindly ask that you take it with you when you leave. You can leave biodegradable waste.

We also prefer people who don't rely on substances like drugs, cigarettes and alcohol

    Acomodação

We live in a small cosy 2 room self-contained cabin. The cabin can be cold in winter and hot in summer. We live on rainwater so guests must be conscious of water consumption. This is why in summer, we bath in the river or ocean almost everyday. Drinking water we usually get from a close by fresh water spring.
You will get a bed in a private room. Shared kitchen & bathroom. Compost toilet. Hot shower. Wifi. Breakfast & dinner are provided. Share the cooking and clean up. we ask that volunteers organise their own lunch as its not always guaranteed we will be around in the middle of the day.

The other dwelling on the property is occupied by a couple (sister & partner) with their 9-year-old son (who has autism).
