Our overall experience with Gavin was simply great. From the first message till last goodbye. Communitating with him was simple and clear. He text me that he will come, when and how and he really did :) Gavin stayed with us one month. He helped us a lot, worked hard and was cool with any job that we asked him to do. Cooked for us few times
… read more delicious meals from his homeland. Gavin is also great with kids of any age. Both our daughters were relaxed around him. He is easy to talk to about any topics, as he has wide range of interests. Friendly, easy going, open and flexible. I highly recommend him as a good volunteer.

I got to spend a month in the beautiful Czech country side of Tesikov. I met Jirka at the bus station in Sternberk, we conversed a bit about Czechia (as being the birthplace of "Robot") and was promptly introduced to his band "Foggy Dude", check them out on YouTube. Klara was at the house with their two sweet daughters (Linda and Rozi) who warmly welcomed us: beautiful, large, antique village house with plums, apples, and a full garden protected by the guardian fowls surrounding the private plot. Linda is a fun and courageous young girl who loves making friends, playing pexeco, and exploring the surrounding forest, I was so glad we had made acquaintance: we exchanged little gifts from nature before I left.
First task was to move the old tool shed, and clear out the area old debris to make room for renovation of the upstairs, plenty of wood to cut and stack, then a pile of detritus to BURN!!! (I had fun with that part).
Klara and Jirka were most kind as I had injured myself in the onset of the journey and needed time to recover each day; I felt awkward not starting my days until 10am, but they were most polite in their leniency. By the end, I felt encouraged to use my cooking skills, and wished I'd spent more time preparing meals for the family, as I had a lot of fun with culinary cultural exchange, and also utilizing the various bounty from their garden (potatoes, tomatoes, and fresh, wild Mushrooms).
I encourage everyone to venture around Czechia, and come visit Klara and Jirka, to enjoy the solace and silence of beautiful Tesikov!Só é possível entrar em contato com Workawayers com assinaturas ativas.

I had a wonderful 2 week stay with Klara and family. I was well looked-after and I had nice food, good company, varied work tasks, and interesting experiences.

David stayed with us two weeks. We wish he could stay longer. It was very good experience hosting Dave. He is very considarate, humble and gentle. When he was in our small kitchen, he always took a good care not to disturb, always washed dishes after himself, was quiet. He came with his car and sleept in his tent. Very independent. David worked
… read more hard and worked to his best. And he is so great with children all age. In his free time he spend time with Linda 7 years and tought her english. Even played with 1 year old Roza. And when we made a campfire with neighbours he entairtained us all with playing guitar. And his czech is amazing
Such a pleasure ! Please come back one day!

I spent a month at Klara&Jiri place, I enjoyed my stay and the beautiful surrounding (truly amazing)!
I was most of the time either picking fruit and helping making some jams or cutting some wood to prepare for winter!
Nothing to hard but I guess you have to be a bit physically prepared if you are from the city as countryside life is more

I also learnt about mushroom picking and this is the absolute best activity you can do (at least for me haha)
They had also crazy cat that just eat everything (so you better hide your food haha) and playful young daughter!
Sometimes it was cold, so I recommand to any workawayer to be a bit more prepare then I was if you come after Summer time!
Overall I enjoyed my time and I hope any workaway will as well :)

Elliot is a great workawayer. The communication with him before his arrival was easy and fast. He arrived on exact date. He was interested a lot about Czech republic, very curious about life here.
