  We are not a typical German family. If only because we only have one child and not the average 1.53 children in Germany ;-) A dog and three cats are completing our household. That's probably above average too. We are socially committed in variety of ways and are always open to new things and curious to meet people from other countries.
  
  We, that are Alexandra (kindergarten teacher), Marco (marketing manager at an NGO) and Leopold (kindergarten child) - just to name the people. We live in a small town, actually in a village. But in the middle of the Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan region in North Rhine-Westphalia. We have a house with a small garden, close to the Rhine and lots of green spaces.
  
  
  
  Wir sind keine typisch deutsche Familie. Schon alleine deswegen, weil wir nur ein Kind und nicht die in Deutschland durchschnittlichen 1,53 Kinder haben ;-) Ein Hund und drei Katzen komplettieren unseren Haushalt. Das ist wahrscheinlich auch über dem Durchschnitt. Wir sind sozial auf vielfältige Weise engagiert und immer offen für Neues und neugierig darauf Menschen aus anderen Ländern kennenzulernen.
  
  Wir, das sind Alexandra (Kindergärtnerin), Marco (Marketing-Manager bei einer NGO) und Leopold (Kindergartenkind) - um nur die Menschen zu nennen. Wir wohnen in einer Kleinstadt, eigentlich sogar in einem Dorf. Aber inmitten der Metropolregion Rhein-Ruhr in Nordrhein Westfalen. Wir haben ein Haus mit kleinem Garten, in direkter Nähe zum Rhein und vielen Grünflächen.

  We look forward to meeting people who can also teach us something. Language, new recipes (cooking and eating is one of our hobbies), stories from other countries, new points of view.

  Ajuda

  Anyone who is willing to do a bit of gardening and everyday chores, can cook or would like to learn, likes children and pets and would like to eat with us from time to time is very welcome.
  
  
  Wer bereit für Gartenarbeit und Alltagsarbeiten ist, kochen kann oder es lernen möchte, Kinder und Haustiere mag und Lust darauf hat ab und zu mit uns gemeinsam zu essen, ist bei uns herzlich willkommen.

  We learned english at school for a couple of years and we went to various places in holiday, where we could speak english, but we don't have regularly options to use the small knowledge. Notre français est mauvais. Je trouve plus facile de parler que d'écrire. Mais je peux commander une bière (Marco). Alexandra peut louer des chambres d'hôtel et annoncer des retards. Nuestros nombres son alexandra y marco ...

  Acomodação

  We offer a large room (ca. 30 qm ) with a separated private bathroom: However, this is already our first project that we want to realize with workaway. The room is currently general purpose and not too nice. But it is already well suited for living and sleeping. With paint, new flooring, pleated blinds, etc., this can be improved in a few days with a little manual skill. Marco is happy to help.
  
  Wir bieten ein großes Zimmer (ca. 30qm) mit eigenem separaten kleinen Badezimmer: Allerdings ist das auch schon unser erstes Projekt, das wir mit workaway realisieren möchten. Der Raum ist momentan Allzweckzimmer und nicht allzu schön. Zum wohnen und schlafen aber bereits gut geeignet ist. Mit Farbe, neuem Bodenbelag, Plissees etc. lässt sich das mit ein wenig handwerklichem Geschick in wenigen Tagen verbessern. Marco unterstützt dabei gerne.

  Algo mais...

  In der Freizeit stehen viele Wander- und Radfahrmöglichkeiten zur Verfügung. Leider fährt der Bus in unserem Dorf nur wenige Male am Tag. Damit sind unter anderem die Großstädte Moers, Duisburg, Düsseldorf, Oberhausen und Köln bei einem Tagesausflug gut zu erreichen. In der Nähe gibt es ein paar Lokale, Wer ein ausgiebiges Nachtleben sucht, wird bei uns aber enttäuscht.
  
  Alexandra und Marco sind beide in Vollzeit beruftstätig. Wir freuen uns aber darauf, nachmittags und abends oder am Wochenende die Vielfältigkeit der Region, in der wir leben, zu zeigen.
  
  Wer bei uns lebt bekommt einen Eindruck des Lebens in einer deutschen Familie und wird in dieser Zeit wie ein Familienmitglied behandelt. Dazu gehört selbstverständlich der individuelle Wunsch nach Privatsphäre.
  
  Wir freuen uns auf Menschen, die uns kennenlernen möchten und die von uns im selben Maß lernen möchten, wie sie uns an ihrem Erfahrungsschatz teilhaben lassen.

  During leisure, there are many hiking and cycling opportunities available. Unfortunately, the bus in our village runs only a few times a day. This means that the major cities of Moers, Duisburg, Düsseldorf, Oberhausen and Cologne, among others, are easy to reach on a day trip. There are a few bars nearby, but if you're looking for an extensive nightlife, you'll be disappointed with us.
  
  Alexandra and Marco both work full-time. However, we look forward to showing the diversity of the region in which we live in the afternoons and evenings or at the weekend.
  
  Anyone who lives with us gets an impression of life in a German family and is treated like a family member during this time. Of course, this includes the individual desire for privacy.
  
  We look forward to people who want to get to know us and who want to learn from us to the same extent as they share their wealth of experience with us.

  Ein Raum (ca. 30 qm), der aktuell als Durchgangszimmer zum Garten dient und nicht sehr schön ist. Als Wohn- und Schlafraum ist er aber geeignet, wenn die Ansprüche nicht so hoch sind. Vor allem aber hat dieser Raum Potential. Eine Renovierung des Raums (Farbe, neuer Bodenbelag, Sichtschutz vor den Fenstern) ist mittelfristig in Planung - vielleicht mit deiner Hilfe. ---------- A room (about 30 square meters) that currently serves as a passage room to the garden and is not very nice. However, it is suitable as a living room and bedroom if the demands are not so high. Above all, this room has potential. A renovation of the room (paint, new floor covering, privacy screen in front of the windows) is planned in the medium term - maybe with your support.

  Espaço para estacionar campervans

  Ein Wohnmobil oder Wohnwagen (max. 6 m) kann auf unserem Carport geparkt und mit Strom und Wasser versorgt werden. Allerdings nicht dauerhaft für mehrere Wochen. Dafür stehen in der Nähe öffentliche Plätze bereit. ---------- A mobile home or caravan (max. 6 m) can be parked on our carport and supplied with electricity and water. However, not permanently for several weeks. Public spaces are available nearby for this purpose.

  Pode aceitar animais

  Hunde, die nicht aggressiv gegenüber Artgenossen sind und die nicht viel bellen, sind willkommen. Unser eigener Hund hat kein Interesse daran andere Hunde kennenzulernen. ----------- Dogs that are not aggressive towards other dogs and that do not bark a lot are welcome. Our own dog has no interest in meeting other dogs.
