I have mixed feelings about my stay in Lanke and Tom's house :
First, i had a good time. The food was very good and i really liked the time spent with Lanke and Tom and their dog. It is such a beautiful place over there.
At the same time, they "forgot" that i was coming so i lived in a tent. A lot of things are not said and that is a shame.
… read more Too much things are said on the back of others. There were communications problems between us. A lot of things was not good and that's a pity that we talk about it only the day before i left, so nothing has changed. Without the 3 others workawayers with me, i think i would have left sooner.
I was not feeling good there sometimes. Especially during working hours. That is not how i see a workaway experience. It's more a working place than an experience with them. We don't work with them and it's sad.
Set aside all this, it was a nice week. I met nice people and i felt good with the others workawayers.

We had the three of us (I count our cat too ^^) a wonderful stay with Lanke and Tom's family. First, because we really felt a part of their warming home. Well, we stayed a month, shared really beautiful moments, full of good energy and wisdom. Contact with nature in this place is wonderful, it gave us a lot of harmony and helped us to find ourselves. Lanke and Tom are truly brilliant people, they taught us to have a different view on what happens day by day in each other’s lives and how to deal
… read more with "problems" in a different way; with Tessa we shared a few moments, but they were nice and we understood when we needed something, because our English is not very good yet.
We were also pleased to meet a large part of the family, the older daughter and her boyfriend, also lovely people.
We are eternally grateful to be allowed to stay with such a nice family and we would definitely do it again.
We will miss the walks through the forest, the fun games of Ping Pong and the extraordinary and colorful meals; their councils and being able to cook together (Lanke & Barbi). And I’m sure Rango will miss playing with the beautiful Rami.
We leave you a big hug and wish you a full and blessed life, thank you again!!

I was not feeling good there sometimes. Especially during working hours. That is not how i see a workaway experience. It's more a working place than an experience with them. We don't work with them and it's sad.
Set aside all this, it was a nice week. I met nice people and i felt good with the others workawayers.

Lanke and her family opened their doors to us, for our first Workaway experience and we were very very happy. We stayed 10 days in September, it was short but we enjoyed a lot and we felt like a member of their beautiful family. We meet Lanke & Tom, their 2 daughters and their lovelyyyy animals : Rami, Mira and Paulooo a little cat so beautiful
… read more and so kind! We are now missing all of the family! They was very patient with us to understand our "basic" english. We try to understand Dutch but it was very very difficult ahah. We slept in the sauna house, we eat really delicious dishes and our work consisted in :
Cleaning their forest removing branches, wood, cleaning the foot path and we created art woodwork that we hung in different places in the garden. We really like our first Workaway experience with works, and the warm welcoming in our first family. All the family always informed us about what we had to see or visit around their house like Bréda, the Lake, beautiful roads and cities etc. It was so good. And we could take bikes.
A new time, thank you for all, we loved our stay and we hope to see you again Lanke, Tom, Tessa, Nieke, Martin, Rami, Mira and Paolooo <3.

After almost a year, I decided to write about my first workaway experience with my freaky English. I and Alp (also two great Spanish boys) had been in Lanke's place for 3 weeks. I am very thankful to meet with these openminded, good, helpful people. Sauna house was good for accomodation and Lanke provided us meals that many of them tastes similar
… read more to Turkish cuisine, specially veggy soups kabak çorbası :)) Also it was a great place to work for me after studying in a metropol. I was a math nerd who was not too good with nature and any special skills. But Tom tougth us, we acquired new skills . Working in the forest is great activity for discover yourself and hit your all muscles with fresh air. Actually, I felt like a member of family than a worker after a short time.There were plent of memories to tell. I want to write about all of them also more about people and amazing times we spent (also Rami Mira and Paulo which attended family when we were there)but I am a bit emotional during covid19 quarantine. We stayed for a month at Tom, Lanke and their daughter Tessa's place, and had a wonderful time.
They are very special people, and we were very touched by the way they opened their home and their hearts to us.
We enjoyed cooking, dancing and playing cards together, and also working in the beautiful and peaceful forest that surrounds the house.
