  My place is a vibrant, colourful art studio and beach house by the coast, situated in the very middle of Phillip Island. With a stunning Surf Beach 500 m at the end of the road, my sweet little abode is a nature lovers and / or surfer’s delight.
  My house is painted inside and out and is more of a studio than a house. I I used to work as a ranger at the penguin parade and worked in the travel industry in China and STH East Asia for many years.
  I teach art in a secondary school 3 days a week and also teach art in my home studio at other times. HI am open to having 2 people come at the same time :) After many years living life on the road, I am still extremely spontaneous and never know what I'm doing until I'm doing it , Being in such a beautiful sought-after after location I have many friends and family come to visit so for these reasons I can only accept last minute workaways

  To enjoy a workaway experience at my place you need to be independent, spontaneous and happy to spend time alone. Having your own car is ideal as public transport is limited and I am about 8 km out of town which means when Im at work you may be stuck here. I have a couple of bikes and there is a bike trail to Cowes or San Remo. I am happy to show you about and you are welcome to use my art studio and join me doing some art. I'm quite social and well connected in the community so tend to have people dropping in or am off with friends fairly regularly so it's tricky to predict what lies ahead. I

  At my place, anything and everything is used as to make art and nothing is thrown out. From putting old face masks into paintings to, turning old paint tins into hanging plant pots, I am always looking for ways to turn trash into treasure. I love idea of having a beautiful garden, however I prefer to paint flowers than grow them so my poor garden tends to get neglected and is in need of some love. My to do list in varied and endless, but overall what I am mostly looking for is people who are relaxed, nature lovers who are environmentally aware and enjoy creative thinking.

  My lovely little 3 bedroom beach shack was one of the first to be available for rent and has had 100’s of 5 star ratings. I am having a break from Air BnB as I prepare to set imy house up as a pop up gallery and art respite experience. Before opening up my studio to the public, I need to finish many of the half finished projects I have laying around. Note that my fridge is usually full, as I have the intention of eating well balanced, regular meals, however, the reality is that I usually get so caught up in my studio that I rarely cook. I tend to eat a lot of snacks and convenience foods as I don’t make meals a priority. Ideal guests would like to cook and this would be included as work hours :) Sleeping arrangements are flexible, with the main room being a queen size bed.

  Phillip Island is a popular tourist destination with the big draw card being the world famous penguin parade. It’s a very popular surfing location with Surfie’s point just next door. The nature here is exceptional and it’s a very relaxing place to visit.. Note that there are not really any facilities within walking distance, so it can be a little isolated here on the days when I work. It can be a tricky place to access if you do not have a car and the night life is usually very quiet, unless during peak tourist summer holiday season

  Wi fi is generally very good, except during peak holiday season s when everyone floods to the island and the networks can get a little overloaded

  My driveway is quite tight so I can only host smaller campervans. Large caravans or motor homes will not fit on my property

  Note that my yard is not very secure and dogs are not allowed in many areas of the island so while I love animals and happy to have them stay I'm not suitable for hosting all pets so check first
