Hello everyone

Ideally we are looking for couples at the moment, some bonfires and clearing to do. Only need help for 1 week.

Specifically looking for couples.

We look for people who want to have a great experience and work hard. In return we offer great views, good food, wine and laughter.

We promise a fantastic experience (read the reviews).

Our location is beautiful with just a 10 minute walk to the local town which has a huge square and a good number of shops, restaurants and cafe's.

We are also only 1 hour from Florence, Lucca and Pisa, so plenty of opportunity to do some great sightseeing.

We would really love to hear from anyone who has any of the above skills.

What can I say. They came, they saw and they conquered!

We had one day together where I explained that I needed wood chopped and brambles cleared. Both hard manual tasks and in August!

I came home to find that they had done everything asked of them, and more. Plus the house was spotless.

We really enjoyed our time with Sue and Chris and the boys in Pescia. It was our last workaway stop on our summer-long trip and it was a perfect way to end our summer.

We stayed in the bell tent on top of the hill and we loved our temporary home. The view was amazing, the hammocks were perfect and the outdoor shower was great after a hot… read more day.

The food honestly changed the way we eat now. It was amazing to us that the salads we ate for lunch were collected from the garden that we helped to weed.

Mike thought it was awesome to have cleared an authentic Roman road. The before and after pictures were, as Chris said, "stunning!". The tasks such as this one were incredibly rewarding and we always felt extremely appreciated by our gracious hosts. You could really tell that our efforts meant a lot to them.

From the moment we arrived we felt absolutely at home thanks to their hospitality. Sue and Chris have a very laid back nature that really puts you at ease. Even though there were many volunteers there at the same time (six at one point by our count) you never felt lost in the shuffle and they still always came around to ask how we were doing and if we were happy with the task we had been assigned. Even though we were in fact happy with out tasks, it was great to have the option of changing jobs if we so desired. They were also very understanding when we decided to leave earlier than we had anticipated when an opportunity to travel to Transylvania presented itself. They supported us wholeheartedly and we were quite sadder to leave then we had anticipated.

The town itself is right within walking distance which was nice for trips there to get gelato or to go to the weekly market. The place is also in great position for trips to Florence, Pisa, Collodi (the birthplace of Pinocchio!), and many other beloved Tuscan getaways.

We could go on and on with our praise of our time spent with this family in Pescia and we would definitely recommend planning a stop here if your travels bring you to Tuscany (or simply Europe at all). Your work will really make a difference and you will truly feel wanted and appreciated. Although the work can be physically demanding the mood is always light-hearted and the meals and off-time are full of laughs (a large portion of which is due to Henry and Eric, two blossoming comedians).

We can not thank Sue and Chris enough for the opportunity and would love to revisit at some point in the future to further help out and to see the progress that has been made (and to finally put on our Sound of Music Tour/Theatrical Masterpiece).

My time with Sue, Chris and the boys was absolutely brilliant.
They were my first ever hosts and what an introduction!

The house is a beautiful 'weathered' tuscany building situated in the fabulous mountains of Pescia.
They are the proud owners of an impressive organic vegetable garden, stretching practically the entire length of the bottom… read more terrace. This is were the majority of the work took place.
I learnt how to pot, plant, WEED, feed, prune and sing to the little veggies, all whilst dodging mud bombs and jedi warrior attacks...

The food -ah the fooooddd!- was amazing. How I miss the lunch time ritual of Sue and I creating a banquet of yummy healthy goodies...
I also learnt how to bake the best bread known to man - all thanks to Baker Phillips (aka Chris, who by the way, can do pretty much anything and everything and probably has the T-shirt to prove it...)

We made cherry jam, plum pie, pizzas, salads, yummy little Italian coffees...All ingredients coming from their land.
It's such a rewarding feeling picking, preparing and eating food that you have helped to grow. It makes it taste even better.

The work was always different, I stayed for five weeks and very rarely did the same job day after day...other activities included, a bit of spring cleaning, getting over my fear of spiders (thanks Sue) some fun spelling games with Henry and Erik, constructing paddling pools, and baking various yummy treats.

Both Sue and Chris are extremely kind, and easy to get on with. Once you step through the door you feel like part of the family, and they genuinely really want you to enjoy every minute of your stay. I never once felt unwelcome or uncomfortable at their house. Everything I did was really appreciated. It was great seeing the difference in everything during my stay.

It was nice having other workawayers there at the same time as me too. I met some really nice people, and didn't stop laughing when London lads, Tom and John hooked up with Tyler from Tennessee. We had rap battles, drinking games, slimey cards and naked tree swinging...absolutely hilarious.

Really loved my time with the Phillips family, I've learnt so much and with their help and generousity I was able to visit parts of Italy I have wanted to for so long, and more.
They are an inspiring, fun, happy family and I hope to see them all again one day!
