  I have a house in Northern Tuscany, about an hour and 20 minutes north of Pisa where I spend every Summer. I have been maintaining it and renovating the space for the last 2 years - mostly alone and with some help from locals. Every year, in June I go for a week or two to prepare the house for the Summer. This year I would like some help with this- cleaning and painting the terrace, cutting the wisteria, weeding and some general DIY in the house too. I can provide a nice space to stay, food and company (if desired). The area is stunning. Surrounded by lush hills, rivers and small villages dotted in the landscape. Near to some beautiful historic towns such as Fivizzano, Pietra Santa and Sarzana. It's 30 mins from Massa-Carrara and the Ligurian coast. For the particular week I am seeking help, I will be working days with a local builder/friend laying decking. I will be on site to help all week.

  I'm a photographer/artist/musician. I've been spending Summers in this area for over 30 years so I know it very well. I can share my knowledge of photography with guests and recommend great places to visit in the area. I also love to cook (I'm a vegetarian).

  I'll be needing help with weeding the terrace/garden area, cutting back the house entrance wisteria, cleaning and painting the terrace and steps, painting and decorating in the cantina and house and some general clearing and organising. Some or these tasks I can help with but mostly I'll be setting you up and letting you get on with it. I will be around doing other jobs at the same time.

  I'm happy to help with conversation outside of working hours, as long as there is enough English known to communicate on some level.

  A very comfortable 3 - bedroom house with beautiful views of the hills. You will have your own bedroom, kitchen/diner, bathroom, sitting room and balcony with stunning views. I will provide lunch for you every day you work and some fruit and basic food for breakfast and to cook an evening meal for yourself in your accommodation space.

  There are plenty of beautiful walks nearby and a bus service from the village. I can also drive and accompany you to nice spots a few times during the week when I'm not working. It's best to have your own car but It can still work if you don't. I will pick you up from the train station and drop you off at the end of your stay.
