Hi!
My name is Meike, I’m 25 years old and from Germany. I recently graduated from university with a degree in primary education and have decided to take a year off to explore the world a bit more.

I’m currently traveling Australia but from September onwards I’ll be doing a working holiday in New Zealand. I am an open minded, talkative, responsible and easy- going person who enjoys being outdoors, meeting different people and learning new things. I have a lot of experience in childcare and teaching, but I have also worked in logistics for several years, so I’m not afraid of getting my hands dirty. I’m happy to help with practical tasks, contribute to everyday life and pick up new skills along the way. I absolutely love animals, so I would be happy to stay somewhere with animals around . I’m vegetarian so I wouldn’t want to be involved in slaughtering animals, but I’m completely fine with others eating meat.

In my free time I enjoy doing more relaxed things like reading, easy hikes or walks and simply being in nature, but I’m always up for an adventure too! I’m currently trying to get back into doing more sports again, like swimming, running or yoga. I absolutely love climbing and would like to try more surfing as well. And while I’m in New Zealand, I definitely want to give rugby a try!

I am looking for a workaway experience where I can contribute to everyday life, learn something new and experience New Zealand beyond the typical tourist path. I’m excited to meet new people, discover new places and see where this journey takes me!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have a degree as a kindergarten teacher, so I have experience working with children.
I have some experience with horses and I am able to work with them by myself, but I am still always happy to learn more there.
I like to build stuff even though I only have little experience there, but I am usually a fast learner and want to learn more about that.
I would say that I am a decent cook, so I don't mind cooking something from time to time, although I am vegetarian so I don't cook meat.
I don´t have a problem with getting my hands dirty, so gardening, cleaning the animals and their stables as well as working in nature is not a problem for me.
In general I am always open to try and learn new things!
