Hello,

we are Lea and Jakob, a young couple from Germany studying to become English teachers. We share this account but won't be traveling together the whole time so sometimes it might just be one of us reaching out to hosts. Feel free to message us if you have any questions!


Jakob
My name is Jakob, and I am from northern Germany. At the moment I am studying English and History to become a teacher in the near future. I am also working at an Italian restaurant in my hometown as a server and pizza baker.

I am interested in a wide variety of topics but especially I am interested in history, food and gardening as well as reading books about great British detectives. I do enjoy nature and long hikes as well as working with my hands. Personality wise I am more of a calm and settled character, however interested in meeting new people and gathering new experiences.

To complete my Master’s studies, I have to stay abroad for three months (90 days) to use and apply my skills in the English language in an authentic setting. As I was and am interested and fascinated by Great Britain, I would love to do my stay abroad in England. This will be my first experience with Workaway and I am looking forward to all the new things awaiting me on the road.


Lea
I am currently studying to become and English and Art teacher and have just started working on my master's thesis. On the side I work at a group home for adults with mental disorders.

When I am not studying for university or working I like to spend my time outside. I enjoy going for walks or long hikes with friends and I try to go for a run a few times a week. However, I also like being creative and trying out new diy projects, be it sketching, knitting or repairing (and sometimes upcycling) old furniture. I like to meet new people and to explore and experience new things together but also like to be on my own from time to time.

In order to finish my masters program, I have to spend at least three months in an English speaking country and I hope that with workaway I will gain an authentic experience of the English language and the life in another country. I am very excited to learn not only more about the language and use it with native speakers but also to try out and learn new things.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

As we are both studying to become teachers we already have some experience with teaching and we both speak English fairly well. Jakobs family has a large garden and he is used to do a lot of gardening and diy projects and I also try to help out there and do my own diy projects around the apartment. We both enjoy cooking and have experience in cooking for more people as Jakob works in a restaurant and I also have to cook and bake at my workplace.
