We spent almost a month with Heather and Adam and had a wonderful time!
They are both very welcoming and friendly and made us feel very comfortable and safe. We had our own apartment, which was very clean, comfortably and cozy.

We really enjoyed our time with Leannan and Jacob, they are great company and would definitely recommend them to any other hosts looking for a personable, hard-working and kind couple to stay with you.

Dominik stayed with us for nearly three weeks and was a great help and a lovely person to have around. He is very kind, thoughtful and conscientious. He helped with various tasks in the garden, including laying concrete, weeding and general maintenance, restoring our chicken house and run, and just being generally helpful.

From the first moment, I felt welcomed and appreciated by both of them. They are a very kind and warm-hearted couple who looked out for me all the time.

… read more about the vegetables in their beautiful garden. She tried to include as many vegetables from their own produce in her dishes as possible, which made the meals taste even better.
Adam is an incredible DIY professional. The knowledge he has about how things work is stunning. We worked together on some projects, which I appreciated a lot. Even though he had a plan outlined in advance, he was always open to hearing my opinion or giving explanations. The jobs I worked on alone, which involved weeding, painting, mowing the lawn and cutting weeds using a strimmer, were always demonstrated beforehand, which made the work quite straightforward. Adam also knows a lot about bees. He gave me the opportunity to work with him in that regard. We inspected a hive together and did some maintenance, which was very interesting as he explained everything beforehand and afterwards.
The apartment I stayed in was incredible. It was very clean and spacious as well as equipped with beds, a kitchen, comfortable chairs to relax and watch TV and its own bathroom with a washing machine. All the ingredients and foods I needed for breakfast and cooking on off days were provided by Heather and Adam.
I also want to use this chance to say thank you again. Heather and Adam, you both are wonderful people and I thoroughly appreciate the opportunity you gave me. Thank you for the stories during our breaks, lunch and dinner as well as the rides to the bus station. Altogether, it was just a lovely stay that everyone should experience if they have the chance.
I hope I can come back in the future.
From one Workawayer to another, if you have the opportunity, you should definitely go for a stay with Heather and Adam.

We stayed 5 weeks with Heather and Adam and it was just a gift that they have contacted us on Workaway. … read more respectful and warmly!!! Both are people you like to have around you. We had lovely and long talks during the day and delicious lunch's, dinners and beautiful evenings as well.
They have a gorgeous garden with different areas like the raised beds, the vegetable garden, the polytunnel, the pond or the fields.
Adam was a great and patient teacher and it was a pleasure to learn so many things from him (for example bulding stonewalls, building brick edges...). Both also gave us the possibility to learn and to do something about/with bee's and we learned sooooo much!!! Heather gave us during our talks many good movie tips and recipes. She is brilliant in teaching english (and she uses a lot of good humour to do it) and also in learning our language as well; we had a great language exchange!
During the work both made sure that the tasks were not too one-sided. They appreciated every thing we did.
During the time we lived in an absolutely cozy and very clean and luxurious apartment above the garage. This little apartment with an own kitchen and bathroom is amazing!!
Because the house is next to the river Bandon (great nature), Heather and Adam gave us the possibility to use their kayaks and also to do fishing on their land (with my own equipment).
From workawayer to workawayer: use the possibility to go to this special place!! You won't regret it; both will care very much about you.

Moritz and Luisa (Mo and Lu) stayed with us for 5 weeks and we were very, very sad to see them go. They have become good friends and we are delighted that they came to stay with us this year – they are welcome back whenever they want! … read more come and help you. No task was too big, and everything was done beautifully and with care and attention. They took on new information quickly and were able to do work that they had never done before to a very high standard.
The work that they did for us included, general garden work (Mo is a wizard with a mower and a strimmer…in fact we have re-christened our mowers, Big Mo and Little Mo(w) ), weeding, pruning, hedge trimming, digging out an old cottage that needed to be cleared, ready for renovation, laying bricks to edge a patio, stone wall building (like pros!), chopping wood and clearing out an old cottage to store the wood in. If you’re tired reading this, I’m not surprised…but they just kept on going.
As well as all the above, we spent lovely meals and evenings together and they would also sometimes cook for us - we definitely recommend that you take them up on this – they are amazing chefs and great bakers!
We learned a lot from meeting Mo and Lu, about them and their culture. They also have great knowledge about healthy ways to live and I am sure anyone who meets them will have just the same, great experience.

The little house they gave me to live in is more than you could dream for. Very cosy and quiet. Very easy to catch a bus into the city or surrounding villages as well as a very nice bicycle to use whenever! Beautiful places to go cycle around with nice forest areas close by to take a walk in.
A great place to get away from the busy life and calm down and get a bit dirty tending to the surrounding nature. Definitely a workaway you would never regret!
