I had a great time staying with Jean and Marion. They have a beautiful family and house and I felt very lucky to have been able to stay with them. They were very responsive and gave loads of great recommendations for exploring the local area. J'ai bien Aimée mon séjour avec Jean et Marion. Ils ont une belle famille et maison et j'avais de la chance d'avoir resté avec eux. Ils communiquaient bien et m'ont donné plein de recommandations pour explorer la région locale.

I got a warm welcome by M and T and enjoyed my time here overall , I got a bit overwhelmed by the heat at first but slowly got used to it . Any differences or misunderstanding we had we could discuss in a productive manner. I got invited to a local party and it was a lot of fun to meet their friends. the works was easy and unfortunately too little as the guesthouse was a going a bit slow because of the conflicts with Thailand. Rest assure it's a very safe place and the village you stay in is a great way to get in touch with locals and authentic Khemer life. You get to enjoy the beach, kayaking, and while you're working have a few drinks. so definitely recommend this experience and M and T as hosts.

Very kind workawayers and great cultural exchange. They were with us for two weeks and helped us with the garden and cooked a delicious typical Iranian dish twice. Both were very helpful and independent. Sometimes we had to get used to each other's pace of work. We had a great time together and I recommend these Workawayers to everyone.

Talissa was only supposed to stay for a week or so, but I asked her to extend her stay, and she ended up staying for about a month. Not only that - afterwards, I invited her back to do house-sitting while I was away. That alone shows how much I trust her: I left her my house, car, and cat for a month and a half. She took perfect care of everything, and when I returned, everything was spotless. She also drove me to and from the airport, which was a great help. On top of that, Talissa is great company, exceptionally well organized, and an excellent cook. I wouldn’t hesitate to host her again anytime, or to leave her the keys knowing everything would be in good hands.

I had a wonderful time during my stay with the family! From the moment I arrived, I was met with warm hospitality from the whole family and fellow volunteers, and I immediately felt right at home. I’ll never forget my first conversations with the little girls—I asked them a few questions in English, not really expecting an answer since I was both a stranger and speaking their second language, but they responded without hesitation in the most adorable voices! Most of my shifts were spent with Miku, the eldest daughter, whom I was tasked to pick up from the bus stop after daycare. While she was understandably a little shy at first, she quickly warmed up to me, and we had lots of fun laughing and playing games during our walks home. We often played make-believe or drew together while waiting for the rest of the family to arrive, during which she was always well-behaved and easy to care for. Finally, I need to give a huge thank you to Megumi-San and her husband, who made my time in Sapporo truly unforgettable. Megumi is the sweetest host, who asked me many questions about my life and taught me a lot about Japanese culture! She is a generous and funny person, and it is inspiring to see her tackle the daily challenges of raising three young children (while working!) with such grace and empathy. Additionally, while I could not speak with her husband due to the language barrier, he was kind enough to take me and a fellow volunteer skiing one day (a bucket list item for me!) and I enjoyed watching his loving dynamic with the children. Thank you! 151A :)

Maria stayed with our family for a few weeks and we grew fond of her in a short time. She has such a positive outlook on life, enjoys a good laugh, is very easy to get along with and is a keen and competent worker regardless of the task. We wish her many happy WorkAway experiences.

Marcel could stay by us only for 2 weeks, but he showed himself to be a wonderful person and an amazing workawayer. He is quiet, responsible, respectful and hardworking. He has torn down the old goose house, helped with chopping wood and taking care of animals/pets and cleaning, he also removed molehills in the garden and removed withered branches. We became really good friends and continue to stay in touch and hope he will come again as he promised.

Nico & Juliette stay at our campsite for almost 3 weeks. They are independant and can mingle well with the other 3 volunteers from Saudi Arabia, Italy & Albania. They help me maintain the campsite, raking the leaves (a lot of leaves during dry season) and also tidy up the woods from tree just we just chop down before they came. They also made some projects with bamboo where they made a shelves to put a flowers for decoration (actually they plan to make the bench but it turn out to be another thing 😁) and their second try, they make a nice japanese table from bamboo which is a nice addition to our treehouse platform lower ground. Really appreciate ehat they have done at the campsite and their help.

Pia stayed with us for two weeks and helped animal care, horses, goats, chickens. Making a new fence for the goats, preparing the hugels for planting and other odd jobs on the finca. Together with another workawayer she enjoyed the activities around the village, climbed Santa Barbara, yoga, hiking and playing cardgames. They also cooked some meals. Pia is a quiet and friendly person who loves nature. We wish her all the best in her future endeavors

Chris spent a week with us and was a great help. She completed housework and other tasks and had good attention to detail. She was easy to talk to, with great English and good with the kids.

We were so fortunate to have Julia and Kacper stay with us for a few weeks. They were warm and welcomed into our family right away (helping to calm a crying baby in the car ride home from the ferry!). They were a joy to be around, friendly, and genuinely interested in the work, our family, and the area. Despite the cold, rainy weather, they were outside every day with a smile on their faces. They helped with gardening and landscaping projects we had - working with various tools, climbing into the middle of hedges, up ladders, chopping down bushes, trees, ivy, and helping dig out the veggie garden - they accomplished more than we could have possibly imagined they were going to get done!! My only regret is that we didn't get to spend more time with them! With their diverse skills, kind personalities, eager and keen energy, they will be a big help with whatever project you have for them!

I feel so lucky to have volunteered at the sanctuary for a month! Ala, Lyndon and the whole family is so hard working and kind. I never felt like I was working, because you get so much love from the dogs & cats. Can not wait to come back one day. It's been the most beautiful experience, you will never want to leave.

We had an amazing time with Oceane and her family. Everything was great : - we learned different skills: gardening and helped on the renovation of a room in the house - we shared a lot of meals with Oceane and her children. she is a great cook, and we were delighted to discover her recipes. This is the workaway you want to live. good work, amazing people that really care and want to share and make your experience worth it. We stayed only two weeks but we really appreciated our time and we were really sad to leave. To finish with, Powell River is so lovely. you can enjoy nature, beach and trails all around (watch for the sunshine coast trail). Go!

I loved my stay at this place! Ceci and Sabrina were so nice and welcoming from the start. The shelter is very well organized, the volunteer apartment is big and clean. I had a video meeting with Sabrina before arriving and that was very helpful, I knew what to expect before even getting there. The tasks are mainly cleaning and feeding and bathing the dogs. There is also always time to play and cuddle with the dogs. And there is a possibility to do and learn more (i.e. assisting in anestheasia and minor operations). I really had the feeling I was there for the dogs. And the environment was always very pleasant and positive. The shelter is far from the city (which I liked) but on our days off we got to visit a cenote and a beach. If you are dog lovers, you will love this place :)

My second stay during my first Workaway trip took me to Nynne and Søren. My tasks included, after a relaxed start to each day, helping to fetch wood (from the forest), general spring cleaning, and collecting horse manure and spreading it in the garden. Nynne and Søren are incredibly nice people! We got along famously right away and had a lot of fun. During one visit, I even got to meet Nynne's mother, who I also got on really well with. The house is old and has a certain charm that I immediately loved. Dinner wasn't just a meal; it was a celebration! Simply delicious, and they used lots of homegrown and preserved produce—absolutely scrumptious! You'll also find 3 horses, 2 cats (who love to be petted), and (some very tame) chickens there (the number varies slightly). Søren even gave me a practical lesson on the importance of general safety clothing, and despite the age difference, I'm now allowed to call him brother (bro/bror). The setting where they live is simply incredible, practically in the middle of a vast forest, and you can be right in the heart of it within minutes. Another highlight is the raised bog, located just a few kilometers away in the middle of the forest, which can be visited.
