It was a pleasure hosting Soren for a week. He has a high sensibility for the pets belongings and went friend with all of them immediatly. We were cleaning the garden together and he was continuing this task all on his own whilst i was away for 2 days. Apart from working, we had interesting conversations about literature, art, politics etc. I can highly recommend Soren as a very responsable and reliable person .

I spent one month with Nadja and her wonderful family, and it was a truly positive experience. They made me feel welcome from the very first day and treated me like part of the family. I especially enjoyed spending time with the children, Lenny and Liam. They are kind, fun, and full of energy, and I created many beautiful memories with them. We shared lots of activities, laughter, and meaningful moments together. Communication was always easy and respectful, and the family was supportive, understanding, and appreciative. I am very grateful for this experience and would highly recommend staying with them to any future Workawayer. Thank you, Nadja, Alexi, Lenny, and Liam, for all the wonderful moments, your kindness, and your hospitality. I hope our paths cross again someday!

I’m really grateful for the time I spent in Basil and Ananda’s house. From the beginning I felt at home. The house and my room was so comfortable, the food was amazing, and I always felt welcomed and included. Thank you for making me feel part of your daily life so naturally. During my stay I had the chance to take part in many different activities: planting trees with Indigenous communities, helping with projects, fixing muddy roads after the rain, and learning more about community recycling work. What I also appreciated a lot were all the shared moments — the beach trips, the whales, the chants, the meditations, the dances, the weading sessions, and all the community gatherings. And of course, the conversations and meals together, which I really enjoyed. Thank you for your generosity and for envolved me in your activities, and for this opportunity. I’m leaving with beautiful memories and a lot of appreciation for this exchange of experiences and ways of living.

I spent almost a month staying with Mika, Muku, the dogs, and other volunteers, and it turned out to be such a memorable experience. It was different from what I expected, but honestly in the best way. Mika is a really kind, friendly, and welcoming host who makes you feel at home right away. She’s also quite detail-oriented and likes things done a certain way, but once you get used to her system, everything becomes simple and clear. At first, the dog walks weren’t exactly what I had in mind because I expected to explore more of Osaka. But I actually ended up loving them. Early mornings were so peaceful, with beautiful sunrises and fresh air—it became one of my favorite parts of the day. I also highly recommend using a bike when you can. As a big dog lover, I absolutely enjoyed spending time with the dogs. They can be a bit shy at first, but once they warm up to you, they’re incredibly sweet, funny, and full of personality. And now there’s even a new puppy, which made the experience even more special. The cleaning tasks were easy to understand and pretty straightforward. When there were more volunteers, everything got done quickly, and we had plenty of free time to explore Osaka and nearby places. One thing I really looked forward to every day was Mika’s cooking—her dinners were amazing and felt like a warm family moment. Helping in the kitchen was also really nice and a fun way to spend time together. When the house is full of volunteers, it can feel a bit crowded since it’s not very big, but it also makes the place lively and gives you a chance to meet great people and share the experience. Overall, I had such a lovely time here and made so many great memories. I’d be really happy to come back and help Mika and her family again if I return to Osaka.🫶🏽

Our baby loved spending time with Merve. She comforted him and read books with him. She cooked and baked delicious meals for us and helped out around the house. She was always on time, and she was very independent. She took care of her own leisure activities. And she even gave us homemade gifts. She really went out of her way for us. She was a huge help to me. It was nice to meet her ☺️

Megan and Ben were a pleasure to host and we really enjoyed the time we spent together. They are hardworking, motivated, and not afraid of physically demanding tasks. They often went beyond what was expected and were a great help with an important project for us. We had many interesting conversations, and both of them are curious and knowledgeable, bringing a wide range of interests and experiences. They were easy to live with and contributed positively to the atmosphere in our home. We are happy to recommend them to other hosts. Hope to see you again.

Camilla stayed at our house for one week. We greatly appreciated her volunteer work and dedication. She was always willing to help and approached every task with enthusiasm and care. She assisted with cleaning and also contributed her artistic talents by painting a beautiful mural to our space. Also, she is very easygoing. She joined the local event that we invited. We're looking forward to meeting Carlo!

I had a really wonderful time staying with Alina and Paul. They are incredibly kind, generous, and warm-hearted people. From the very first day, I felt welcome and at home. Alina is such a lovely, caring, and cheerful person! We had many nice conversations and shared laughs together. Paul is an amazing cook, I truly enjoyed every meal he prepared. Also he knows a lot about German culture and history! He taught me about the differences between various German dialects, which I found very interesting. I mostly helped in the garden and with some daily housework and they always checked if I was comfortable and had everything I needed. The atmosphere in their home is calm, positive, and full of warmth. I’m really grateful for the time I spent with them and would definitely recommend staying with Alina and Paul to any Workawayer. Thank you for everything, f. family:) With lots of love, Niya

Ernst is a very warm and social host. He makes you feel at home at Dalvesadji right away. For example by cooking lovely dinners, most of the time famous regional dishes. If you're open to try new things, he is your man. His pizza's are the best. My dog also felt very welcome and grew very fond of Ernst. Ernst also ensures that there is plenty of time for relaxation alongside work. He taught me how to fish, with success, and now I have my own fishing rod. Besides fishing trips, Ernst took me on trips to friends and local must see spots. I experienced working on the project as fun and educational. I gain more confidence in working with tools. I'm certain that I will visit Dalvesadji again in the future, to meet Ernst and other new friends again.

Laura was a great Workaway volunteer. She is very kind, considerate and respectful of our home and personal space. Laura was very hard-working and happy to use her own initiative and be proactive, she was 100% trustworthy and honest. Laura was incredibly gentle and understanding with our rescue dog, he fell in love with her! We had some interesting conversations and Laura demonstrated great empathy and compassion. Unfortunately, Laura only stayed 3 out of the 12 days she volunteered for, due to the heatwave that France experienced. This was obviously disappointing for us, but understandable. We would have no hesitation in welcoming Laura back to our home and wish her all the best.

I spent three weeks with this amazing family and honestly it was one the best volunteer experiences I ever had! I arrived as a foreign person and I left with tons of great memories and new friends. Simsy is super friendly and, even if I spoke very little French, she was helping me improve, and also very kind - she always asked if I liked the jobs I was doing. Jacob is a great fisherman and very kind too. Their daugther is full of energy and it was fun to paint with watercolours with her. They provided delicious meals and I also got the chance to travel a bit of NC with them. The jobs I did were fair and never too difficult to do. I recommend this awesome family to everyone. A bientôt!

Merili was an absolute delight to have staying over here, very positive, loving and helpful general vibe. She's very interested in plants, and was so enthusiastic about helping out with the garden, and making everything thrive. Including the indoor common spaces. Her friend Marten also stayed over, and was also enormously helpful and kind. Thank you Meri! Hope you come back soon again!

Jacob was an absolute pleasure to have around. From the first moment on he was part of our humans+animals gang, everything was easy, friendly, and enjoyable. He was respectful, kind, and simply a perfect guest in every way. We hosted him for four days as part of Workaway at our little place in italy and it was a truly great experience. He was very helpful, contributed a lot, and his support was greatly appreciated. There is honestly nothing negative to say — we would be happy to host him again anytime and we definitely think he should become the next president of the United States! :) 19 years old and already a living legend! Jacob, you are always welcome to stay with us in italy. Safe travels and we hope to see you again soon! The gang ✌️

I volunteered for a month in Sangla Valley. Big words like illuminating, amazing, and breathtaking could certainly suffice. Then real words like peaceful, quiet, busy, and cultural would also be accurate. Most aptly, I know for sure I’m going to be thinking about this experience for a long time. I will be thinking about the beautiful treks, particularly Rakcham. I will be thinking about the staff, who were nothing but kind and helpful from day one. I will be thinking about the many guests I met, who came from interesting backgrounds and were interested in my life too. That’s always appreciated. While at the start it was a bit slower, one should take it upon themselves to seek out jobs and helpful tasks. By the end, I was hiking most days and having a ball. Odd jobs included making menus, turning them into QR codes, and a personal favourite—carrying a toaster 16km to get it repaired. Guests, as others have mentioned, might not be the strongest hikers, but encouragement and a little hand-holding got people to the end. It’s rewarding to see people finish and promise to hike more in the future. The whole point of getting outdoors! Yew! I must also give a big shout-out to my fellow volunteer, Aman, who made the experience even more epic—and is now a friend. Thanks to Tony, Manouj, Shishupal, Bhopinder, Om Prakash, and Captain Sood for the communication, for hosting me, and for generally helping out. All in all, a great experience!

Shinji stayed with us for three weeks, and having him here was truly a wonderful experience. From the very beginning, he integrated beautifully into our team, and we had a great time working together. Shinji is a gentle, joyful, and incredibly bright person who brings a positive energy wherever he goes. He is always curious, eager to learn, and genuinely interested in the people and culture around him. One of the highlights of his stay was the opportunity to share our cultures with each other. Shinji was always happy to introduce us to Japanese culture, and we especially enjoyed the Japanese cooking evenings we organized together. These moments created beautiful memories and meaningful connections. What we appreciated most about Shinji is his kindness and openness. He has a very caring and thoughtful way of looking at the world and is always happy to engage in conversations, share experiences, and learn from others. His warm personality made him a pleasure to live and work with every day. We are very grateful for the time we spent together and feel that this experience was much more than a simple Workaway exchange. We sincerely hope to see Shinji again in the future and continue the friendship that began during his stay. We wholeheartedly recommend him to any host. He is a wonderful person, and anyone would be lucky to welcome him into their home and project.
