Description
About Us
I live with three roommates in a very old house in Toshima Ward, Tokyo.
My roommates are Japanese and Nepali, including a queer woman.
They enjoy anime, games, and music. Japanese is our common language.
I'm an IT engineer who works at home, and they are a voice actor and a student.
If you answer all questions of my profile, you have a better chance to be accepted.
Room sharing and coming out of the closet are uncommon in Japan.
Art Project
I offered the wall to a friend who wanted to paint a mural, but some space remained.
I then invited artists from around the world—many volunteers have contributed.
We don’t have art skills ourselves and don’t participate or suggest designs.
The Neighborhood
Two stations from Ikebukuro, ~30 minutes from Shinjuku and Shibuya.
Quiet residential area with some restaurants and shops.
The house is old, poorly ventilated, and in a natural setting.
Not suitable for people with asthma or allergies to dust or animals.

Echange culturel et opportunités d'apprendre
I offer my homemade umeshu (Japanese plum wine) to my guests.
If my roommates have time, we can have a drinking party at home.
Let me know whether you drink alcohol and if you have any dietary restrictions.
My roommates are happy to share their knowledge of Japanese pop culture.
One of them also plays guitar and other instruments and enjoys skateboarding.
One roommate used to visit women’s bars in Shinjuku Ni-chome (the gay district).
She doesn’t have time to go there now, but she’s happy to share her knowledge.
Aide
Looking for people who can paint a mural and assist with cleaning.
Also, we need more help with cleaning than with painting.
People who can assist only with cleaning are also welcome to apply.

One person is enough for the help we need. Any partners are not allowed.
Future availability may change due to resident move-ins or move-outs.
We only accept requests for the current month and the upcoming month.
You may inquire about availability for dates beyond the upcoming month.
But we may hold responses until one month before your requested date.
Duties & Responsibilities
Paint a mural in a common area (such as the living room, corridor, etc.)
Short-term stays paint a small space; long-term stays paint a larger space.

Help keep shared areas clean. Assist with other tasks as needed.

Hébergement
No strict rules or curfews. There are two types of accommodations.
Meals may be provided, depending on the amount of work you do.
Let me know if you’re okay with the tent or need a room.
The house may be hotter than outside in summer and colder in winter.
We prefer people who don’t use air conditioning or heaters frequently.
[An indoor bed tent in the living room]
A tent with mattresses and blankets includes some storage space.
An electric fan and an oil heater are available for cooling and warmth.
The living room is also the passageway to the roommates’ rooms.
If the tent isn’t comfortable, we can arrange a private room for you.
[A room]
A private room with an air conditioner and furniture.
It's normally available when any room becomes vacant.
In the summer, we are probably available when the room is available.
Because it can be difficult to stay in the tent with only the electric fan.

Tourist visas and Japanese guests are welcome.
